R1 CAEN [R-H]
C1 – PRIX ACTU.FR (PRIX DE LA TOUQUES) – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Class B – Harness – EUR € 31,000
- NON STOP MESLOIS – Capable on a good day but has nothing to contribute at this level and can be ignored
- NOOR DU CAMPUS – Respectable 4th in a 2700m Vincennes Class A late last month. Has yet to finish out of the first 5 since her October debut and, with 4 pads fitted this time, can keep the run going
- NIKAIA PORT – Ran 6th on re-entry, a place behind NOOR DU CAMPUS (2), in a 2175m Vincennes Class B on 27 March. Winner of her sole clockwise start and is worth keeping an eye on
- NOTEBOOK – Has excelled since his early-February debut, winning last 2, most recently a Vincennes Class D with ease in early-April. Benefits from a terrific draw and can make a big splash if he turns
- NOVATO BELLO – Has taken his game to a new level since returning this season. Excels with Alexandre Abrivard and looks the one to beat
- NUIT MYSTIC – Drops back down the category-ladder after running 6th behind NOOR DU CAMPUS (2) in a 2700m Vincennes Class A late last month. Starts in front, is confirmed in good company, and looks competitive for a first-5 payout
- NEWZIRA JOSSELYN – Got straight down to business on her comeback at Enghien 2 months ago. Was unable to confirm at Vincennes later that month though and represents no more than a minor place chance
- NATURALE MAG – Showed promise last autumn but has been aimed too high all season and can be ruled out
- NOBLESSE – Has excelled with front pads fitted, winning at Caen and Enghien. Benjamin Rochard would have preferred a better draw but can still be forgiven for feeling bullish
- NOLIO DU BARBEY – Runner-up in 2 over 2450m here before losing his action at Chateaubriant 2.5 weeks ago. Sports 4 pads for the first time but has a mountain to climb this time
- NEMO DE BEYLEV – Opened his account at Mauquenchy in mid-March prior to running a distant 3rd to NOTEBOOK (4) in a Vincennes Class D last month and can be passed over
- NELATI DE MORGANE – Has yet to lose his maiden tag in either discipline. Is not devoid of ability but is taking on too much here
- NAKALOUN – Has shown his limits since winning a Vincennes Class D 3 months ago and must get his house in order
- NEW YORK D’OYSE – Respectable trotter for the most part, and is back at a more realistic level, but still appears to have too much to do
- NO TIME DU DONJON – Showed marked improvement at Enghien 3 weeks ago when 3rd in a 2875m Class C. Sports similar shoeing and even from the back line can play an important role
Summary: Solid in both return runs, NOVATO BELLO (5) imposed at Reims last time racing right-handed and, from the 5 slot will be in with a realistic shout of repeating. To his wide outside, NOBLESSE (9) will take her chances after having won 2 of her last 3, including over 2450m here in March. NOTEBOOK (4) made the jump from winning a Laval Class F to a Vincennes Class D and makes his clockwise debut with Mathieu Mottier reining and a good hand to play. NO TIME DU DONJON (15) has pulled an unfavourable number but is confirmed racing right-handed and has already won with Eric Raffin.

C2 – PRIX PIERRE GAMARE – ETRIER 3 ANS Q5 – 2450m (a1m1/2) – – Mounted – EUR € 120,000 - NIGHT FOR YOU – Opened her monte account in a Class F over course and distance 2 weeks ago, however in this category of race will have limited prospects
- NAUTILIO BELLO – Showed promise earlier in the year but has been out of sorts since and is unlikely to influence the outcome
- NINA JAVO – Course-and-distance winner in March prior to running 3rd in a Vincennes Class D late last month. 4 pads fitted for the first time but still not a concern
- NYX DE VAL – Useful filly that has shown a liking for both codes. Has already won right-handed, under harness, will sport pads for the first time, but still looks to be taking on too much
- NECTAR DE LA FYE – Has yet to get off the mark but most recently ran 4th in Gr.2 Prix Gai Brillant. Races with pads once more and should not be ruled out
- NOUMEA DES BROUETS – Takes to the ridden code for first time after being trounced in a harness Class A in Paris late last month and is unlikely to generate much interest
- NONONINO – Useful sort taking first competitive monte steps after 2 return harness runs. Imposed on sole start at the venue and is very hard to ignore
- NITRO DAIRPET – Showed the limit of his capacity when last of 6 in Gr.2 Gai Brillant on monte debut a month back and can expect to have few takers
- NAZZARENA – Switches code for first time after showing excellent aptitude under harness, and even in the absence of Eric Raffin looks good enough to pick up some prizemoney
- NOVA JENILOU – Serious future trotter with significant untapped potential. Goes right-handed for the first time, but has shown considerable class and can take it in her stride
- NEW SUCCESS – No star but can trot. Was not at his most performant at Vincennes a month back still warrants respect
- NYMPHE D’ELLE – Takes her chances under the saddle after having demonstrated very good aptitude under harness. Is reunited with Benjamin Rochard who is unbeaten with her and must be taken seriously
- NIZZA ROCCA – The only horse in the field to have won at this level. Should not be condemned for last month’s elimination and, re-shod for the occasion, can give NOVA JENILOU (10) a run for her money
Summary: A number of good future prospects here but arguably none more so than NOVA JENILOU (10) who has done everything asked of her to date. She beat a tenacious colt at Vincennes last time out, sports front pads for the first time, and can pull off the hat-trick. Mathieu Mottier will still want to be mindful of the reconfigured NIZZA ROCCA (13) who was a tenacious winner of the Gr.2 Prix Ali Hawas before losing her action in the Gr.2 Prix Hemine, and the good NYMPHE D’ELLE (12) who has been re-shod for her monte debut following a most encouraging re-entry run. NEW SUCCESS (11) has yet to excel since switching codes but in the absence of some of the better elements of his generation, can give this a good go.

C3 – PRIX OUEST FRANCE (PRIX DE CAMBREMER) – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 31,000 - JINA FOUTEAU – Produced a 33-1 surprise a fortnight back when 3rd in a 2100m Vincennes Class E. Could have a pulled a worse number and with David Thomain in the bike is unlikely to disappoint
- HOLLY GREEN – Useful for the most part but form has been regressing recently and her Caen record leaves something to be desired
- IGGY DES RIOULTS – Reverts to a previous formula following his Graignes comeback late last month. Has delivered in 2 of 3 starts in the day’s configuration, has been handed the 3 slot, and while not a priority is still worth monitoring
- HORUS DE VAL – No slouch but went off the boil late last season and has picked up where he left off. Disregard
- INTELLO D’ERABLE – Disappointing in all 6 starts this year and has no possible chance
- JACK L’EVENTREUR – Showed improvement in a Saint-Brieuc Class E just 9 days ago. Has a particular flair for racing clockwise and the draw will only work to his advantage. First 5
- VINCI NICE – Erratic but capable Swedish raider that ran 2nd in a 2100m Vincennes Class E on 24 April, at 35-1. Has no clockwise references but in current condition, with Franck Ouvrie reining, will be no pushover
- JAVA FAST – Seldom disappointing when barefoot, and recently dominated an Enghien Class D. Drawn wide on first row and looks main danger to JAZZMAN (14)
- JAG ROYAL – Very hard to knock when focused, and won his only appearance at the venue. Is not ideally-placed behind the car but, if focused, can get in on the action
- DYNAMITE SENSATION – Has made little impact since moving to France and has just the one race under his belt
- IBIZA DE CONNEE – Serious mare making first appearance since 18 February. Preparing for a ridden campaign and can be dismissed
- TOSCANA SOUTHWIND – Honest Scandinavian mare that showed her form behind JINA FOUTEAU (1) in Paris a fortnight ago. Debuts right-handed, and starts on the 2nd line, but with Benjamin Rochard in the bike is hard to ignore
- SIDNEY CELEBER – Has yet to deliver since returning from his winter spell. Failed to finish on sole Caen appearance and others easier to back
- JAZZMAN – Hardy element that reached the 75 percent win-rate with his driver at Challans on 26 April. Has already been successful at Caen and is easy to fancy for a repeat
- GLOBAL DUTY – Capable trotter but has not been seen out since October 2025 and is going to need the run
- RUGER – Nordic element with decent French form. Stays shod for re-entry though and others preferred
Summary: In winning at Challans a fortnight ago, JAZZMAN (14) was registering his 3rd success in 4 starts with Eric Raffin reining and, despite a poor draw here, can nevertheless confirm. He will, however, come under pressure from the excellent JAVA FAST (8) who took no time returning to victorious ways. VINCI NICE (7) makes just his 2nd French appearance outside Vincennes where he recently put his form on show, and looks a player. JINA FOUTEAU (1) reassured at the same venue that day and has been re-shod for her Caen bow.

C4 – PRIX DES DUCS DE NORMANDIE – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 – Harness – EUR € 150,000 - JIOSCO DE PHYT’S – Moderate trotter making just 2nd appearance since his winter spell. Is shod for the occasion and can be ruled out
- KOBAYASHI – Quality dual-discipline element that has not put a foot wrong in either code this term. Has a monte Gr.1 to his name already this season and in current condition is difficult to ignore
- IGREC DE CELLAND – Ran 4th, a place in front of JABALPUR (5), in Gr.1 Premio Costa Azzurra in Turin early last month. Boasts a fine record racing clockwise and, although not a priority, should nevertheless hold his own
- HULYSSE DIGEO – Will be shod to preference after running 6th to INEXESS BLEU (12) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Kerjacques on 4 April, but still has more to find
- JABALPUR – Returns to France after running 5th, despite a bad number, in Gr.1 Premio Costa Azzurra in Turin early last month. Appears to be close to his best, sports front pads for the occasion, and it would be no surprise to see him contest a place in first 5
- FULTON – Has done little of note in either code since December and with shoes fitted will have nothing to offer
- INO DU LUPIN – Wonderfully consistent, and with a win-rate beyond 50 percent, he was somewhat unlucky when 2nd in Gr.2 Prix Kerjacques and can win this if Antoine Wiels keeps him out of trouble
- JEAN BALTHAZAR – Fine servant with considerably better credentials in the other discipline and can be confidently disregarded
- INMAROSA – Serious mare with serious speed, but has other priorities and can be passed over
- INA DU RIB – Classy mare in the other discipline. Is here for reasons of conditioning and can be set aside
- KOCTEL DU DAIN – Given a break after a lean winter, he now has a race under his belt. Was eliminated when full of running in Prix de l’Atlantique and, barefoot this time, cannot be discounted
- INEXESS BLEU – Made no bones about securing his first objective of the season, controlling the 2700m Gr.2 Prix Kerjacques at Vincennes in early-April. Has never won at group-level racing right-handed but it is just a question of time
- HOKKAIDO JIEL – Prix d’Amérique winner that has yet to confirm, but has run 2nd and 5th in the race, seems better than ever and, with application, can play an important role
- HOOKER BERRY – Always gives his best and most recently valiant 6th in Gr.1 Prix de l’Atlantique. Failed to fire on sole start in the race though and cannot be considered a contender
- IDAO DE TILLARD – High-class individual sporting a revised configuration after winning the 2150m Gr.1 Prix de l’Atlantique 3 weeks ago and, given his liking for these conditions, is plainly a leading contender
Summary: Highlight of the afternoon with a number in contention, although at a squeeze one may have to opt for either INO DU LUPIN (7) or IDAO DE TILLARD (15). The former was most impressive in the Gr.3 Prix du Bois de Vincennes before being pipped in the Gr.2 Prix Kerjacques, while Thierry Duvaldestin’s reconfigured dual Amerique winner ran 3rd in the 2024 edition and most recently dominated the Gr.1 Prix de l’Atlantique. What separates them under these conditions seems little. It was INEXESS BLEU (12) who secured the Kerjacques but he may have to settle for a place this time. Runner-up in the 2023 renewal, HOKKAIDO JIEL (13) is unlikely to disappoint if focused. Mathieu Mottier’s versatile star, KOBAYASHI (2), looks a possible spoiler.

C5 – PRIX DU CALVADOS – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Class B – Mounted – EUR € 45,000 - JABLO DU CHENE – Consistently-performant type with a particular liking for these conditions. Will have come on for his return run and will be expected to finish close
- JUS DE FRUIT – Very disappointing so far this year and seems to have no possible chance
- HIS DREAM DE CAHOT – Kicked the year off nicely but has since failed to make any impression and is not about to change his ways
- GARD – Stormed up in an Enghien Class C in March, last time under the saddle. Victorious in both codes with Benjamin Rochard who will be confident of competing for a place in the picture
- IGO CLEA – 4th in last 2 starts, latterly a 3000m Chateaubriant Class D 2.5 weeks ago, however in this company will have little to offer
- FLASH DU BIWETZ – Completely out of the picture in last 2 starts and, in this category, is out of his league
- HELIOS SI – Debuts in the discipline after failing to make his mark under harness this term and can be ignored
- IKURO JIEL – Won 2 and twice runner-up in 4 starts this year. Has shown a liking for these conditions and looks eminently capable of contesting the finish
- IMPERATOR D’ELA – Has not been seen under the saddle since 2023. Takes a dip in category after running 6th in a Chateaubriant harness Gr.3, but cannot be considered a player
- HIMBERLAND – Back under the saddle after 4 disappointing harness performances this year and with pads fitted can be ruled out
- NINEPOINTS LASSE – Back under the saddle after clinching an Enghien harness Class C 3 weeks ago. Boasts an envious monte record and can get in on the action if he gets off on the right foot
- HAMONET DE CHOISEL – Runner-up to INDIGO DU PORET (14) in an Enghien Class B in mid-March. Is unlikely to repeat but can get a look in if he deigns to keep his action together
- ELEGANCE KRONOS – Has not got her nose in front for over a year but has references in good company. Ran 3rd in a n Argentan Gr.2 last season and returns to the discipline with a decent chance of making first 5
- INDIGO DU PORET – Like a horse reborn since returning to competition in March, most recently dominating a 2850m Vincennes Gr.3 in early-April. Has yet to be bested racing barefoot and will be hard to oppose
- FARANDOLE DI PALBA – Has been out of sorts since winning a Vincennes Class B last September and even though barefoot following her re-entry, nonetheless appears to have too much to do
Summary: A wonderful campaigner that lost his way for a period of time, INDIGO DU PORET (14) has returned to his best recently with 2 commanding victories, and the money will be on him to complete the hat-trick. IKURO JIEL (8), however, has looked a different horse since the turn of the year and is unlikely to go down without a fight. JABLO DU CHENE (1) has won 3 times over course and distance, made a fine comeback at Angers early last month, and is easy to like for a place in the frame. GARD (4) has shown himself to be useful in this branch of the business and returns to the code with a good hand to play.

C6 – PRIX GUILLAUME LE CONQUERANT – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Gr3 – Harness – EUR € 80,000 - MAC KINLEY – Has ample ability but starts for the first time since winning a Class B in Marseille-Vivaux last October and can be ruled out
- MILAN – Has enjoyed a productive run of form this term but is being aimed far too high this time
- MAGIC MAN – Ran 4th, a place behind MAESTRO VRIE (8), in Gr.1 Prix de Selection here before enduring some misfortune at Enghien. Sports a fresh configuration which may be just the ticket to his redemption
- MONZON NORMAND – Has not been seen out since coming 5th in a Vincennes Gr.3, at 30-1, in late-February. Takes on some good horses here but is not about to set off any fireworks
- MENTOR DE PLAY – Simply superb since starting to race barefoot. Presents decent clockwise credentials, comes here on a 6-timer, but with hind shoes back on may have to settle for minor honours this time
- GOLDEN GIO – Has won 7 of the 8 races he has finished. Returns from Turin in fine form and can make this his own if he manages to keep his action together
- MAGNUM DU CHOQUEL – Has looked rather ordinary so far this year. Returned modestly from a spell 3 weeks ago and even though barefoot this time still looks to have too much to do
- MAESTRO VRIE – 40-1 winner of Gr.1 Prix Ourasi earlier in the year. Returns to racing shod as he was that day and even with his trainer in the bike this time, still looks a player
- METEORE DE SIMM – Has placed in a Gr.2 under harness but tends to show more these days in the other discipline. Will have come on for his return run but is unlikely to spring any surprises
- MAGIC NIGHT – Classy filly that has already raced and placed at the highest level. Was eliminated on his debut here in September 2024 but may just appreciate a return to racing right-handed. Attention
Summary: As classy as they come, but with a temperament all of his own, it is consistently a case of all-or-nothing for GOLDEN GIO (6). He has won 3 of 4 French starts, including a brace of Gr.2s, has been reconfigured for the occasion, and can add to his tally if Matthieu Abrivard keeps him trotting. That being said, the similarly complicated, but re-shod, MAGIC MAN (3) is reunited with Eric Raffin who will be eager to make up for his recent Enghien misfortune. MAESTRO VRIE (8) is shod to preference following his Enghien re-entry and his dependability will only work in his favour. A multiple black-type winner, MAGIC NIGHT (10) should not be too hastily-judged for faulting at Enghien that day and despite having no clockwise references must still be taken seriously.

C7 – PRIX HENRI BALLIERE – ETRIER 4 ANS Q2 – 2450m (a1m1/2) – – Mounted – EUR € 120,000 - MELANCHOLY MAN – Disappointing in all 4 starts this year, 2 under the saddle. Sports modified shoeing but is still out of his depth
- MENTALIST AR – Modest 4th in a 2200m Vincennes Class C on comeback 3.5 weeks ago, and will have nothing to contribute
- MAMZELL L’AVENTURE – Steps back up in category after running a well-beaten 2nd to MALICE CAILLERIE (9) in a Vincennes Class B on 4 April, but is patently taking on too much
- MIRATISSIME – Has done nothing of note since winning a Vincennes Class B last December and can be ignored
- MARGAUX DES ARRIS – Showed promise at 2 but has yet to come good. Has little monte experience and connections appear to be clutching at straws
- MADAME CHENU – Ran 3rd to MALICE CAILLERIE (9) on re-entry in a Vincennes Class B on 4 April, but will need to find significantly more
- MILORD JAVRONNAIS – Has not been seen out since coming 2nd in a 2700m Vincennes Class A on 25 January. Steps up in category, and has been reconfigured, but cannot be ruled out
- MESSI PASS – Eliminated in first 2 this year before coming 5th to MISS DES BESACES (16) in Gr.2 Prix Rene Palyart at Vincennes a fortnight ago. Has more to give and, with application, can finish in the mix
- MALICE CAILLERIE – Opened her 2026 account on comeback in Paris in early-April. Quickly eliminated in 24 April race of reference, but will be barefoot this time and Eric Raffin will be out for redemption
- MOJITO FRAISE – Has not been seen out since opening his black-type account in 2850m Gr.2 Prix Louis le Bourg at Vincennes in early-February. Will have been specifically prepared for this and can bring the fight to MHUM FLYNG (17)
- MY PRINCESS – Nowhere near as sharp as she was this time last year. Was pulled-up in a Vincennes Gr.3 last weekend but has been re-shod and, considering the form of Mathieu Mottier’s yard, she should not be written off
- MADEMOISELLE JANE – Quality filly but lost her way late last season. Has a pair of conditioners in her, and has been reconfigured, but will first need to re-establish her credentials
- MUNHOA VEDAQUAISE – Classy filly with a bright future . Gave a fine account on Gr.2 bow at Vincennes a fortnight ago when runner-up to MISS DES BESACES (16) in Gr.2 Prix Rene Palyart at Vincennes a fortnight ago and is not incapable of beating the colts and winning this
- MANITAS DE TRUCHON – Produced a 32-1 surprise when 3rd in Gr.2 Prix Rene Palyart at Vincennes 2 weeks ago. Is unlikely to repeat but should nonetheless acquit herself honourably
- MATIGNON – No slouch on a good day and most recently ran 4th to MISS DES BESACES (16) in Gr.2 Prix Rene Palyart at Vincennes a fortnight ago. Is not about to get his nose in front but can nonetheless pick up a first-5 payout
- MISS DES BESACES – Sprang something of a surprise when comfortably winning 2175m Gr.2 Prix Rene Palyart at Vincennes a fortnight ago. Is unlikely to repeat but can nevertheless give this a good go
- MHUM FLYNG – Tricky colt but was most impressive here last year when dominating the Gr.2 Prix Pierre Gamare. Form is not in question and can wrap this up if he deigns to keep his action together
Summary: There’s a Gr.1 Prix du Président berth in it for the first 3 home and, given the depth of talent here, it looks a superb race in the making. The nod must nevertheless go to MHUM FLYNG (17) even though he was eliminated in both the Gr.2 Prix Louis le Bourg and Gr.2 Prix Rene Palyart. Christophe Clin will be counting on the change of scenery, as will Alexandre Abrivard who will have nothing but rehabilitation on his mind. Opposition looks set to be led by MOJITO FRAISE (10) who makes his first appearance since winning the Louis le Bourg, and the progressive MUNHOA VEDAQUAISE (13) whose trainer Philippe Allaire will be hoping to turn the tables on MISS DES BESACES (16) who had her measure in the Rene Palyart.

C8 – PRIX GEORGES DREUX – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 40,000 - HESCORT LOVE – Complicated element clearly back in race-mode after being prepped at Laval. Alexandre Abrivard back in the bike and can pick up a cheque if he keeps his charge trotting
- FILOU SMILING – Modest trotter that has made no impact all year and already looks outclassed
- HANDY BOURBON – Gr.2 monte winner starting for first time since January 2025 and will be race-rusty
- JET EXPRESS – Unseen since the autumn but will have signifiant work behind him for re-entry at a track he adores, and has every chance of trotting his way onto the podium
- IRIS DES ROSEAUX – Serious gelding making first appearance since September 2025. Stays shod for the occasion and best to keep one’s powder dry
- HERCULE DE LEAU – Serious type with nothing to prove at this level. Already twice a winner with Benjamin Rochard who will be keen on extending that number
- FREEDOM (NOR) – Quality trotter that has not put a foot wrong for numerous months. Goes well for Eric Raffin and has a realistic chance of making his Caen debut a victorious one
- HONEY KING – Has yet to excel this year, and has yet to deliver at Caen, but will be barefoot for the occasion and could well get a look in
- INHERIT – Kicked the year off successfully but has been rather disappointing since and will be fitted with pads this time
- HIWI ROCQ – Has been a total disappointment since winning at Strasbourg last October and can be ignored
- INTOUCHABLE – Moderate individual that failed to fire at Ecommoy last month when facing his first goal of the year. Has yet to deliver for Yoann Lebourgeois and is unlikely to this time either
- IRIS FROM – Has not been seen sporting 4 pads since 2021 but showed at Vincennes last weekend that she is plainly in shape, and appears to represent a decent first-5 chance
- FALTO DES LANDIERS – Eliminated at Bernay last Sunday. Is preparing for a return to the monte code and can be passed over
- HECTOR DE BASSIERE – Runner-up in a Class A on turf in early-April, his first start since December. Matthieu Abrivard stays faithful and looks competitive for a place in the picture
- HARDI CROWN – Previously a good sort but went off the boil late last season and current form does little to inspire confidence
- INSHOT JOSSELYN – Faces first objective of the season, re-shod, after 3 conditioners. Trainer could not have wished for a better entry and his charge can finish in the mix if his driver keeps him focused
Summary: A terrific campaigner that goes as well right-handed as left-, FREEDOM (NOR) (7) has never failed to fire for his driver and, after prepping for this at Cholet, he will be barefoot for the occasion and will be expected to take all the beating. HERCULE DE LEAU (6) showed at Toulouse that he is clearly close to his best and Benjamin Rochard can be confident of a big performance. One of the more consistent horses here, JET EXPRESS (4) may not have been seen out since November but he excels at Caen and his candidacy is not to be taken lightly. HECTOR DE BASSIERE (14) put in quite the showing on his seasonal return and looks a serious proposition once more.

C9 – PRIX HUBERT HARDY – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 31,000 - L’ENVIE D’HERFRAIE – Has struggled to find form since returning from her winter break. Will be competitively-shod though following her Enghien prep and should not be overlooked
- LORIGRE – Useful on a good day but has just the one race under his belt since the winter break. Benefits from a good draw but is out of his league under these conditions
- LIZY JOSSELYN – Takes a dip in category after finishing 8th of 13 in a 2875m Enghien Class B 12 days ago. Has been handed a good number but still has a lot more to find
- LADY BIRD JENILAT – Failed to confirm comfortable Enghien success when last of 12 behind LIZY JOSSELYN (3) in a Vincennes Class C on 4 April. Is competitively-shod for first time going clockwise, but still looks to have her work cut out
- LOCO FLIGNY – Imposed at Alencon 3 weeks ago on first association with Mathieu Mottier. Has right-handed references but in this category will struggle to make his mark
- LUGANO DE LOU – Stayed on well to secure a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 20 March. Comes here fresh, boasts an envious right-handed record and must be taken seriously
- LIQUIDATEUR – Lost all chance at the start of a Vincennes Class C 2 weeks ago and is never easy to gauge, but he boasts a superb right-handed record and Laurent Abrivard can be quietly confident of a good run
- LAUSSAC DU BUISSON – Failed to continue his good run of form when eliminated in a Vincennes Class D late last month, but form is not in doubt and on better behaviour can set the record straight
- LETIKALIN – Fine servant making Caen bow when good 2nd in a 2100m Vincennes Class D a month ago. Is plainly close to his race, thrives racing clockwise, and is easy to like for the win
- LYANA D’ARC – Has started to show improvement recently but will need to find more than she did in a Vincennes Class D late last month
- LODESTAR – Eliminated on re-entry at Vincennes on 4 April but is otherwise a serious trotter. Has never delivered going right-handed but with Mathieu Mottier in the bike, it is only a matter of time
- LEVRETTE – Moderate mare with just the one race in her since the layoff. Is first-time barefoot but still not a concern
- LOLITA TURGOT – Previously useful but has raced just once since June 2025 and will need the run
- LORELEI DE REUX – Failed to confirm Ecommoy performance when unplaced behind LYANA D’ARC (10) in a Vincennes Class D late last month, and is unlikely to create an upset
- LEMONADE FIZZ – Unremarkable mare with moderate clockwise references but has been allocated a tough number and will have little to contribute
- LA FORMIDABLE – Drops back to a more reasonable level after being trounced in a Vincennes Gr.2 a month ago. Presents respectable French references and looks thoroughly capable of making first 5
Summary: Very much at home racing right-handed, and at ease over these shorter trips, LETIKALIN (9) may not have pulled the best number but he thrives in his current configuration and in present form will be a tough nut to crack. LODESTAR (11) has no particular love for Caen, and was eliminated on re-entry, but he is hard to fault when focused and will be configured as he was when successful last autumn in a Vincennes Class D. The speedy LAUSSAC DU BUISSON (8) was well-backed only to be sanctioned in Paris recently, but sports modified shoeing, and is reunited with Eric Raffin who will be hopeful of putting things right. LIQUIDATEUR (7) is never far from faulting but he has bags of ability and seldom disappoints racing clockwise.

PENNSYLVANIA (7) needs to be forgiven for her under par latest run and is better judged on her prior form which will stand her in good stead here. - MANDOLINE – In good shape and finished 4th in class E at Lyon-Parilly over 2850m on 3 May. Can be competitive in this line-up
Summary: A very tricky lucky last race. MAMZELLE CARLESS (9) hinted that a winning turn was not far away for her with a solid performance at Marseille-Borély. She can go one better this time. MOON TURGOT (7) is unreliable but also capable of getting involved in the finish. MILADY D’ALEX (3) is often competitive and that consistency could result in a winning turn in a race of this nature. MIRACLE GIRL (1) could follow up on her recent course-and-distance success.
SELECTIONS – MAMZELLE CARLESS (9) – MOON TURGOT (7) – MILADY D’ALEX (3) – MIRACLE GIRL (1)
