R1 VINCENNES [L-H]
C1 – PRIX JEAN GABIN – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 68,000
- ENJOY THE GAME – Lost his way during the Vincennes winter meeting and has shown no sign of an imminent return to form
- RIKITA JP – 3 times a winner over course and distance and fresh following a fine Angers run. Is well-placed behind the car and will be backed to win this
- DESIDERIO D’ESI – Serious trotter that was quickly eliminated at Enghien when well-supported. Is a tough nut to crack when focused and can give RIKITA JP (2) a run for her money
- JOJO TOONS – Won 2 on the trot, including a Class C over course and distance, before coming 5th in a Class A on turf on 26 April. Has been reconfigured, with David Thomain in the bike, and from the 4 slot has a reasonable chance of picking up some prizemoney
- IACYNTHE DIDJEAP – Has shown the limits of his capacity since being stepped up in class and is not about to spring any surprises
- HORS BORD – Ran 4th behind IRON DU GERS (7) in a Class C over track and trip on 21 March but has twice failed to confirm. Presents respectable references over course and distance and from the front row should be able to hold his own
- IRON DU GERS – Classy individual that ran 2nd last time under these conditions, beaten only by the excellent Jobspost who boasts an Elitlopp invitation. Is barefoot this time and Jean-Michel Bazire is here to win this
- KELLE BEAUTE – Had been enjoying a fine run of form in 2026 until being eliminated in a 2700m Class C here a fortnight ago. Has not got her nose in front for quite a while but is barefoot for first time since December 2024 and has the capability to finish close
- NOVATO – Hardy Dutch element that was unlucky in Germany recently. Has shown decent aptitude over the main track and even though having pulled a tough number, can nevertheless contest a first-5 payout
- DILVA JET – Hardy mare making first appearance since running 2nd in an Amiens Class E in early-March and in this company will have little to offer
- KEEP YOUR DREAMS – Took some time to come good after winning at Laval last August. Beaten only by the good Katchi Quick late last month and even from the 2nd row should be able to play an active role
- IERMES DE GUEZ – Pleased under these conditions in late-February but has looked rather ordinary since and can be passed over
Summary: As versatile as they come, blessed with a fine turn of foot, and quite clearly in excellent shape, RIKITA JP (2) starts on the front line and is easy to fancy for this. Matthieu Abrivard will still be keeping a keen eye on the good DESIDERIO D’ESI (3) who starts upsides and who will revert to his habitual Vincennes configuration. IRON DU GERS (7) thrives over course and distance and JMB is back in the bike. KEEP YOUR DREAMS (11) is less favourably-drawn but reassured recently and Mathieu Mottier will be keen to prove it was no flash in the pan.

C2 – PRIX KLYTAEMNESTRE – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C – Mounted – EUR € 53,000 - LAPONIE D’EMMA – Useful dual-discipline mare that has yet to get fully into her stride this term and at this level will have her work cut out
- GILLES GRIF – Eliminated more often than not since coming to France. Placed in a Gr.3 here earlier in the year and, with application, is a legitimate candidate for the win
- MARIO DE LA VALLEE – Comfortable winner of a Class C under these conditions 3.5 weeks ago, on first start after the layup. Will have improved for the run and can make a big splash
- MOSAIC LIFE – Undeniably capable but has picked up recently where she left off last January. Has been freshly re-shod though and will be worth monitoring
- MAGNOLIADARCHE – Flattering 5th to MALICE CAILLERIE (9) in a Class B over course and distance early last month and has too much to find
- MESSI PASS – Twice Gr.2-placed at 3 but has looked relatively ordinary this year. Sports a new configuration but has yet to deliver for Paul Ploquin and is not an obvious choice
- LEONCE DU CLOS – Goes barefoot for the first time after running 3rd ahead of LOTI SOLO (8) in a Laval Class C 3 weeks ago, but still appears to be taking on too much
- LOTI SOLO – Wonderfully-consistent since beginning to race barefoot. Has never imposed in this category but is always game and must be worth retaining
- MALICE CAILLERIE – Won a Class B over course and distance on seasonal comeback early last month. Has been eliminated in both starts since but is a Gr.3 winner and will be no pushover if Eric Raffin keeps her trotting
- LOLO DU VELO – By some margin the best horse in the field and still has considerable potential to tap. Has been reconfigured in a bid to make amends for latest elimination and Alexandre Abrivard can be forgiven for feeling bullish
- LUCIFER D’ORPHEE – In the frame in all 3 monte starts this year, including twice over track and trip. Has not imposed for some time but enjoys a fine entry and is easy to like for a spot in the picture
Summary: A horse of significant ability, LOLO DU VELO (10) could well have won a Class B on comeback here in late-March had he kept trotting. He has been given time to reset, has been reconfigured for the occasion, and considering the entry, can set the record straight. Capricious he may be but GILLES GRIF (2) has no shortage of talent and can play a major role if Tamara Mathias-Maisonnette keeps him focused. Unbeaten in 2 barefoot starts, most recently over course and distance, MARIO DE LA VALLEE (3) is not without a chance of securing himself a hat-trick. At home under these conditions, LUCIFER D’ORPHEE (11) returns to the discipline with nothing to prove.
SELECTIONS

C3 – PRIX ARA – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 41,000 - LOUSTIC D’YVEL – Showed improvement at Saint-Brieuc on his 2nd start back but still has a lot more to find
- LOTUS DE BEYLEV – Lost his way late last season and has picked up this term where he left off. Disregard
- LEADERBOARD – Makes first appearance, and French debut, with shoes off. Has not been seen out since mid-December but is clearly in race-mode and unlikely to be far off the mark
- FAST FURIOUS COL – Talented Italian gelding returning to France following a pair of return runs in Naples. Showed improvement when barefoot last time here and with his mind on the game can get in on the action
- LUCIDE CASTELETS – Honest individual but looked rather ordinary in a 2700m Class D here in early-April and will have few friends
- TAURUS CROWN – Went close, on first objective of the year, when 2nd in a 2700m Class D here last week. Goes barefoot again, will not be available at 53-1, but will not be as competitive either
- ORANGE CRUSH – Was going well when eliminated over 2700m here 9 days ago, but otherwise boasts a good Vincennes record. Is clearly in excellent shape and with application will be no soft touch
- FRENCHCONNECTION – Complicated Italian trotter that consistently gives his best when unshod and applied. Faces a less difficult task than he did here last month and is in with a realistic shout of imposing
- SEVEN SEAS S – Has been enjoying a fine run of form in both codes recently. Hind shoes off this time but still seems to be taking on too much
- SAMMY BOY (BEL) – Did not enjoys the best of runs when 5th in a 2700m Class D here 9 days ago. Is reunited with Mathieu Mottier and still has the wherewithal to win this from the back line
- FRISEE KB FONT – Gives a good account for the most part when he can keep his action together. Is barefoot following his Naples return run but still faces a stiff test
- FAITH DI POGGIO – Has twice failed to make any impact since coming to France, latterly eliminated here on 6 June, and is not about to create an upset
- SECRET OF LAW – Put in a fine time when successful in an Agen Class E in mid-March, then prepped well at Mons a fortnight later. Is not ideally-placed on the back row but in current condition is hard to ignore
Summary: A fine servant when focused, FRENCHCONNECTION (8) drops back to a more reasonable level after being well-beaten in a Quinte here last month. He is forced to start wide but is reunited with Eric Raffin who won with him in February and, on good behaviour, can score his second of the year. Third that day and most recently 5th over longer here last week, SAMMY BOY (BEL) (10) imposed the last time he and Mathieu Mottier were associated. Also on the back line, SECRET OF LAW (13) comes here fresh, will be shod as he was when victorious at Agen, and must be respected. Nicely-positioned behind the car, LEADERBOARD (3) has been entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard for his Vincennes bow, will be barefoot, and can play a leading role if sufficiently fit.
SELECTIONS

C4 – PRIX DEJANIRA – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 52,000 - BEENTHERESEENTHAT – Starts for the first time since September 2024 and will not be given a hard race
- OH CEAN – Ran 5th to MAX OCCAGNES (9) in a 2100m Class E here 3 weeks ago, at 100-1. Is not about to confirm but will have his supporters
- JUDGE DREDD SISU – Has failed to make any impact in 3 starts since leaving Sweden and even with Matthieu Abrivard in the bike is unlikely to create an upset
- EVER SO MUCH – Quality Swedish type making French debut in excellent shape. Is barefoot for the occasion and with Mathieu Mottier reining will be afforded every chance
- INDY DE MAI – Placed twice in the provinces before being eliminated in a Graignes Class E last week and even though barefoot this time is not about to spice things up
- ODANA VRIJTHOUT – Unopposed winner of a Class E under these conditions just under a month back before being eliminated when prepping at Victoria Park. Is barefoot this time and must not be underestimated
- HASHTAG SIMONI – Has hardly put a foot wrong all year, latterly 2nd in a Reims Class E on 5 April. Has yet to win on French soil but is plainly in rude health and this may be just the occasion
- CAMERON – Returns to the harness code after racing respectable 5th in a monte Class D at Chateaubriant on 22 April. Has previously won over the main track and, although not a priority this time, can still play a small part
- MAX OCCAGNES – Made short work of his return to Vincennes 3 weeks ago when dominating a 2100m Class E. Champion driver at the helm this time and a repeat is a distinct possibility
- JAMAIS – Comfortable winner at Graignes on 12 April before coming 3rd of 12 in a 2850m Class D here 3 weeks ago. Looks eminently capable of winning another and Cedric Terry will be justifiably confident. Chance
- INVICTUS DE NILREM – Tends to prefer a flatter surface but is better than most here. Is reunited with Alexis Collette who knows him well and, with application, can finish in the mix
- HED – Takes a notable step up in category after winning a 2100m claimer here a month ago. Shoes back on and can be ruled out
- ISERE – Previously a good sort but has looked decidedly ordinary this term and will need to get her house in order
- COMES WITH AGE – Wonderfully-engaged element that appears to have transitioned well since coming south. In less-exalted company this time and even though new to Vincennes still looks competitively well in
Summary: Following a pair of solid performances going right-handed, HASHTAG SIMONI (7) returns to Vincennes and a category he will appreciate and can finally make his way back into the winners’ enclosure. Gabriele Gelormini will still want to be wary of JAMAIS (10) who has taken no time getting back to his best, and recent facile Class E winner MAX OCCAGNES (9) who will be entrusted to Eric Raffin. The nordic COMES WITH AGE (14) gave a fine account at Cholet on his French debut and makes his Vincennes bow with what appears to be a good hand to play. INVICTUS DE NILREM (11) has nothing to prove at this level and will not be far off the mark if Alexis Collette keeps him focused.

C5 – PRIX LILACA – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Class E – Mounted – EUR € 52,000 - JEROCASH DE PHYT’S – Imposed under these conditions on monte debut has failed to make any impact in 2 subsequent ridden runs. Is shod as he was in victory that day but is still not about to cause an upset
- JERIKA DE KERYANN – Returns to racing barefoot, with a top pilot aboard, after prepping under harness at Saint-Malo a fortnight back. Has placed over track and trip and should logically play an active role
- JIRI PACHA – Quality individual in this branch of the business. Goes barefoot for the first time this year and will be expected to contest the finish
- JESOLO – Has never disappointed over course and distance, winning 2 of 4 starts. Has not been seen out for over 2 months but still looks the horse they all have to beat
- HAPPY ATOUT – Modest trotter that has made no impact for some time and is unlikely to start now
- HONNEUR DU CEBE – Has done nothing of note in either code this term, latterly 9th in a Class D over track and trip 10 days ago, and will have few takers
- IKITORI – Was given an easy comeback run when 10th behind JIRI PACHA (3) in a 2850m Laval Class D 3 weeks ago. Is new to the distance here but has solid references at this level and must be respected
- HIRO DE L’ORMERIE – Has been very disappointing in all 4 starts this season and appears to have no realistic chance
- JAZZY THOURJAN – Failed to confirm Argentan performance when 7th, a place behind JIRI PACHA (3), in a 2850m Laval Class D 3 weeks ago, but has otherwise been in good shape and will be expected to show improvement
- IBIS DE CHAHAINS – Has done nothing of note in either discipline since winning at Nantes last September and can be ruled out
- GIFTOVER – Returns to racing barefoot after 4 lacklustre runs in 2026 but will first need to re-establish his credentials
- JOLI MANNEQUIN – Has excelled when barefoot this year, winning 3 of last 4 starts under harness. Has similarly been showing monte form and even though sporting pads can again make the frame
- HATE YOU BEYLEV – Not the easiest of horses to handle but can trot. Has not been at this sharpest lately but has been reconfigured and could well get a look in
Summary: A terrific campaigner under the saddle, JESOLO (4) was quickly eliminated at Caen but should not be too quickly-judged. He imposed under these conditions in late-December and, if applied, can repeat. That being said, JIRI PACHA (3) presents very good course-and-distance credentials and, barefoot this time, looks the main threat. JERIKA DE KERYANN (2) is barefoot for the occasion, with Alexandre Avrivard in the irons, and has references over 2175m here. JOLI MANNEQUIN (12) has been simply superb this term and while unlikely to pull off the hat-trick with pads fitted, can nevertheless secure a place on the podium.

C6 – PRIX FIDES – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 46,000 - MEGANE DE CERISY – Put 4 straight eliminations behind her to run 3rd to MISSING (3) here 3.5 weeks ago, however a repeat seems most improbable
- MAKE IT RIGHT – Despite being eliminated in a Class D here last week, she has been acquitting herself competitively, but would still be preferred at a lower level
- MISSING – Winner of 4 of the 5 starts she has made, latterly dominating a Class D over track and trip on comeback 3.5 weeks ago. Steps up in category but has buckets of untapped potential and enjoys a realistic chance of doubling her money
- MORNING PRAYER – Undeniably capable but never far from faulting. Was going well on re-entry when eliminated here last week. Is not a priority but it will be interesting to see how she gets on with Matthieu Abrivard in the bike
- MUSIQUE CLASSIQUE – Has done nothing but improve lately, most recently running close 2nd in a Class D under these conditions 2.5 weeks ago, and a similar effort would see her challenge for a place on the podium
- MILADY DE MONTCEAU – Scored first victory for 10.5 months when brilliantly winning a 2875m Enghien Class D on 10 March. Has not been seen out since and has no particular liking for these particular conditions
- MYGIRL DES FORGES – Useful individual in both branches of the business. Is barefoot under harness for the first time and in current form is easy to like for minor place honours
- MALVINA MADRIK – Was not pushed in either conditioner this term. Is confirmed under these conditions and can wrap this up if she runs to her potential
- MERRY RIVER – Has decent main-track references but tackles 2700m for the first time. Reassured across town a month ago, is barefoot on this occasion, and will be entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard. First 5
- MERRY – In the frame in 4 straight last season before being sent for a rest. Tends to prefer a shorter trip though and will be race-rusty
- MISS LOULOU – Makes Vincennes debut after winning 2 straight in the south of the country. Takes on a better lot here but is unbeaten when barefoot and cannot be discounted
- MY HAPPY STORY – Pleasantly surprised ahead of MAYOLA VEDAQUAISE (13) in a 2100m Class C here on 20 March before finishing 6th of 8 in a Class C over track and trip in early-April. Front shoes off this time but others still preferred
- MAYOLA VEDAQUAISE – Quality element that was oddly below-par behind MY HAPPY STORY (12) in a 2100m Class C here on 20 March. Has had ample time to recalibrate and will be expected to show improvement
- MANHATTAN FRANCE – Nicely-engaged filly being reunited with Eric Raffin after faulting early in a Class C under these conditions early last month, and with application will be no easy touch
- MONA D’AVRIL – No slouch on a good day but is unraced since early-March and has never delivered over either track here
Summary: A serious filly with a pair of fresheners under her belt this year, MALVINA MADRIK (8) gets to race barefoot for the first time and, if fully-fit, can win this. She will nevertheless encounter resistance from the progressive MISSING (3) who easily won over course and distance on last month’s comeback, and a first-time barefoot MANHATTAN FRANCE (14) who has been knocking at the door for some time. MUSIQUE CLASSIQUE (5) struggled at the start of the year but got back in the game here late last month and, with form maintained, can again finish in the mix.

C7 – PRIX RHEITA – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 40,000 - MAITRE DU CHENE – Showed a different side at La Capelle on 19 April when securing a 2750m Class E. Is more competitively-shod this time and unlikely to disappoint. Chance
- MAESTRO TEJY – Has taken his game up a notch lately, most recently getting off the mark over 2700m at Graignes 2.5 weeks ago. Takes on a better bunch here however and represents a minor place chance at best
- MANY DREAMS – Made a good re-entry at Laval prior to running 5th in a Class E over track and trip on 17 April. Receives a Mathieu Mottier drive this time and must be taken seriously
- MISTER FRIPOUILLE – Showed marked improvement when 4th, a place behind MILLE MERCIS (7), in a Class D over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Goes barefoot again and can repeat
- MULTIPASS – In the frame in 2 of last 3, and will be reconfigured for the occasion, but is better running right-handed and can be ruled out
- MAJON – Showed promise at 3 but has made little impact so far this season. Will race barefoot for the first time through and Pierre-Yves Verva has stayed faithful. One to watch
- MILLE MERCIS – Caught the eye in the final stages of a Class D over course and distance 3 weeks ago, coming 3rd of 12. Will be similarly configured and could well open his 2026 account
- MAGIK DE PIERRAIS – Unremarkable sort returning to racing shod after running 6th of 8 behind MILLE MERCIS (7) in a Class D over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Trainer in the bike this time and cannot be considered a player
- MEGA D’UZE – Sent for a rest after securing a hat-trick over the winter. Was beaten only by a very good horse on re-entry earlier in the month, and is not about to go down without a fight
Summary: Very good 3rd over course and distance on his first competitively-shod start, MILLE MERCIS (7) will not be sent out at 20-1 this time and can even get his nose in front. He will still meet opposition from the ideally-engaged, and first-time barefoot, MEGA D’UZE (9) whose comeback at Meslay-du-Maine did not go unnoticed, and MAITRE DU CHENE (1) who sports modified shoeing after having imposed at La Capelle last month. MANY DREAMS (3) raced better here a month ago than the result would suggest and should prove competitive when it matters.

C8 – PRIX FOMALHAUT – 2850m (a2m) – Class F Amateur Drivers – Harness – EUR € 12,000 - JULIE DU NORD – Complicated mare that has been showing her character all season and is not about to spring any surprises
- JAGUAR DU DOLLAR – Has placed just once in 3 starts this term but must not be too hastily condemned. Imposed under these conditions last September and a return to Vincennes may be just what the doctor ordered
- KANAK DU BOCAGE – Has not delivered so far this season but sports front pads, with Emilie Duperche reining, and from the front row can bring the fight to ILLIMITEE (11)
- JULLIAN DADDY – Ran 3rd at Enghien in March but failed to repeat 2.5 weeks ago. Has nothing to prove in the amateur division, sports 4 pads for his Vincennes debut, and from the front line can give this a good go
- KARINA JOSSELYN – Well-regarded but has quite the temperament. Has been entrusted to Christophe Soumillon for the first time and, in the amateur division, can find some recompense
- IDUNN – Imposed at La Capelle in March but has twice failed to repeat since. Has never delivered over either track here and is unlikely to begin now
- IOLAS – Pleased on comeback at Nort-sur-Erdre last month but has made no impact since and can expect to have few friends in the markets
- JEAN MADRIK – Makes just 2nd appearance in the amateur category following a pair of good pro performances in the provinces. Starts on the back line and cannot be considered a contender, but could still pick up some prizemoney
- FEE D’AMARO – Held her own in an Elbeuf claimer late last month on first appearance since August 2025. Will have improved for the race though and even from the 2nd row can make her presence felt
- HORSE DE GRAMMONT – Lost his way late last season and has picked up recently where he left off. Shoes on and no threat
- ILLIMITEE – Hardy mare benefitting from an excellent entry close to the limit of earnings. Has been knocking at the door in the professional ranks and enjoys a solid chance of making her amateur bow a victorious one
- KARMA QUICK – Serious trotter but starts for the first time since September 2024 and is unlikely to set off any fireworks
Summary: Barring a blip at Maure-de-Bretagne in March, ILLIMITEE (11) has not put a foot wrong lately. She is clearly close to her race, boasts excellent amateur credentials, and can bring home the bacon if her driver keeps her focused. KANAK DU BOCAGE (3) has ample ability but has been struggling for some time; he has been reconfigured for his amateur debut though and from the front row can play a prominent role. KARINA JOSSELYN (5) is complicated at the best of times but can trot when focused and, in this category, should be taken seriously. JAGUAR DU DOLLAR (2) also benefits from a front-line start and it is only a question of time before he gets back in the game.

Summary: A very competitive first race but the vote to score goes to Kyllian (6) is a model of consistency and returns to the scene of his last success with solid claims. Kalie Tejy (5), who is at the top of her game, and the progressive Jina Fast (3) look the main dangers in what is a competitive affair. Khermes d’Urzy (1) is respected back on a track that suits and is not taken lightly given the confidence behind him.

- NIGHT OF CARLESS – In good shape and finished third in a class E over this track and trip on 29 April. Could be a threat to these rivals
- NORMANDIE – Disqualified in a class C at Hyeres over 2650m on 1 May. Had some solid form before that and is capable of an upset if staying in stride
- NABUCCO DES ARRIS – Has improved of late and finished third in a class C at Hyeres over 2650m on 1 May. Can play a minor role
- NOW AND THEN – Not reliable but was a runner-up in a class E over this course and distance on 29 April. Capable of making the frame when smart

- NOTTINGHAM ROYAL – Very consistent so far and was runner-up in a class C over this course and distance on 17 April.
- NOMADE BEST – In good form and was a runner-up in a class C at Hyeres over 2650m on 1 May. Can get into the mix of things yet again
Summary: They are few in number but this looks more open than it first appears. Nottingham Royal (11), who was beaten by a useful sort over this course and distance last month, is a leading contender for success. Nixon de Blary (9) impressed when scoring with something in hand at this track recently and can go well again despite the rise in class. Nomade Best (12), fully shod this time, has a good opportunity to get involved for minor honours, along with Now And Then (7), who is ideally positioned on the front row.
