Fine Form
Bay Breeze LE – 3.39
can continue his resurgence by completing his hat-trick in the Join Racing TV Now Handicap at Leicester.
The 66-race veteran was rated as high as 86 a few years ago, but only one win in 2025 and a disappointing start to 2026 saw his mark fall to a lowly 58 before the start of last month.
September was comfortably the best month of the year so far for trainer Tim Easterby with 35 winners and that coincided with a return to form for Bay Breeze, who finished a close-up third at Carlisle before registering back-to-back wins at Hamilton.
The formbook tells you he is at his best with some ease in the ground and while he is back up to a mark of 66 ahead of his bid for an 11th career win, he is clearly still well handicapped on the best of his form.
James Owen’s
Hoya Bella LE – 2.29
should go well in division two of the British EBF Fillies’ Restricted Novice Stakes.
The Kameko filly was a largely unconsidered 33-1 shot for that Yarmouth introduction, but fared best of the newcomers in third and should improve for the experience.
English Time LE – 4.47
is of obvious interest on his return from a break in the Happy 80th Reg Ling Handicap.
After finishing in midfield in a Newmarket novice on his only start at two, decent efforts at Newbury and Doncaster earlier this season suggested Harry Charlton had something to work with, and he duly got off the mark with a comfortable success at Ffos Las in late June.
For whatever reason he has not been seen on a racecourse since, but he remains a colt of some promise and an opening mark of 85 for his handicap debut may underestimate him.
Limerick Leader SO – 2.00
has hit a rich vein of form for Nick Scholfield and can notch another victory in the Gents Night Saturday 24th October Handicap Chase at Southwell.
The nine-year-old has been around the houses since finishing second in an Irish bumper for Aidan Fitzgerald five years ago, having spells with Rose Dobbin, Olly Murphy and Alison Thorpe before making his most recent move to Lambourn.
Scholfield is quickly making a name for himself as a young trainer who can revitalise horses and Limerick Leader is a case in point, having won three of his last four starts, and the manner of his latest triumph at Newton Abbot suggested he may not be done just yet.
Delulu SO – 4.20
has shown enough in two bumper starts for Dan Skelton to suggest a race like the Book The Bistro In Seasons Restaurant Mares’ Maiden Hurdle should be within her grasp.
The four-year-old was beaten a short head on her Worcester introduction in August and almost certainly would have won, but for being denied a clear run.
Unsurprisingly she was a short-priced favourite gain compensation at the same track recently, but she again had to make do with minor honours, this time finishing third.
Assuming she takes to the jumping game, she has every chance of making it third time lucky.
National Hunt fare also comes from Hereford, where
Jackstell HR – 2.20
is fancied to go close in the Betting.Bet New Betting Sites Handicap Hurdle.
Jamie Snowden’s charge won a novice event at this venue 12 months ago and while he tackles a much longer trip on his return, his latest victory at Stratford suggests he is ready for this step up to beyond three miles.
