French Selections Thursday 25th
R1 CLAIREFONTAINE [R-H] C1 – PRIX DU BISTRO DE LA BOUCANE (PRIX DES GLYCINES – 3400m (a2m1/8) – TURF – Claiming – Hurdles – EUR € 20,000 1. BIBICHE – 2nd on her only start so far over hurdles at Jallais over 3000m on June 14th. Should improve and has place claims 2. LADY DU SAPHIR – 2nd last time over 3800m in a Class 5 hurdle at Erbray on July 7th. Others rate higher 3. STYLE AROMA – Unplaced last two runs, 2nd before that over 3800m at Vitre in a Class 4 hurdle on May 5th. Player 4. LES FLOTS BLEUS – 5th last time in a Class 2 hurdle over 3400m at Dieppe on July 13th. Hard to discount 5. COK’EAU SPIGAO – Three unplaced runs so far over hurdles, with the latter at Dieppe in a Class 4 race over 3400m on July 13th. Opposable 6. JADE OR – Unplaced last time, 4th before that over 3000m in a claiming hurdle at Auteuil on May 28th. Each- way angle 7. MALA’IKA – Has shown talent on her four unplaced runs so far, the latest two over hurdles. Her most recent was at Dieppe when 8th over 3400m in a Class 4 race. Ought to be involved at nice odds 8. LA LOUISIANE – Three unplaced runs of late, 2nd before that over 3200m in a claiming hurdle at Compiegne on April 3rd. Makes limited appeal Summary: STYLE AROMA (3) looked likely to have a say in the finish when falling at Le Lion D’Angers last time in a stronger race than this. She can make amends this time with a better round of jumping. MALA’IKA (7) could defy her likely odds, her form figures are not the best but she drops in grade and has shown she has some ability. LES FLOTS BLEUS (4) and JADE OR (6) are both worth considering for minor honours. SELECTIONS STYLE AROMA (3) – MALA’IKA (7) – LES FLOTS BLEUS (4) – JADE OR (6) C2 – PRIX HENRI DE SAINT-DELIS (PRIX DES HORTENSIAS) – 3700m (a2m1/4) – TURF – Class 3 Race – Steeple Chase – EUR € 37,000 1. MADAME DE LAMBALLE – Unplaced last time, 3rd before that in a Listed chase at Le Lion D’Angers on May 23rd. Has place claims 2. OUR DREAM – 2nd last time over 3600m at Auteuil in a claiming hurdle on June 15th. Needs a few to falter 3. QUEL PATRON – Two unplaced runs of late, won before that over 4200m in a Class 3 chase on April 14th. Has work to do to feature 4. KERIDA – Unplaced last time, 4th before that over 3800m in a Class 4 hurdle at Dieppe on June 6th. Has won twice over fences before. One to keep safe 5. GARE AU MARIN – Unplaced last time, 4th before that over 4300m in a Class 3 chase at Nantes on May 30th. Opposable 6. JURY BLEU – Nice win last time over 3800m in a handicap hurdle at Dieppe on July 13th. Can score on chase debut 7. JIBRIL DES MOTTES – Won at Pompadour over 3900m in a Class 4 hurdle last time on June 30th. Ought to be on the premises having been 3rd on chase debut at Pau in December. In the mix 8. PRINCE DE GALLES – 5th last time in a handicap hurdle over 3900m at Auteuil on June 25th. A good run expected on his chasing debut 9. JOLITA BAIE – 4th last time over 3600m in a claiming hurdle at this track on July 1st. This is her chase debut and others make more appeal Summary: JURY BLEU (6) won nicely over hurdles last time at Dieppe and will be well prepared for this chase debut. He can score from another one trying fences for the first time in PRINCE DE GALLES (8) who faired well when fifth at Auteuil over hurdles in late June. JIBRIL DES MOTTES (7) has been third on his only run over fences and will be in a good frame of mind after a win over hurdles last time at Pompadour 25 days ago. KERIDA (4) is also worth considering. SELECTIONS JURY BLEU (6) – PRINCE DE GALLES (8) – JIBRIL DES MOTTES (7) – KERIDA (4) C3 – PRIX DE LA MERE TOUTAIN (PRIX DU CASINO) – 3700m (a2m1/4) – TURF – Class 3 Race – Steeple Chase – EUR € 37,000 1. HOLIGAN DU BERLAIS – 4th last time in a Class 2 handicap hurdle at La Teste on July 10th. Has outside place claims 2. PRESTIGE D’OLVA – Won over 3500m in a Class 3 chase last time on June 29th at Dieppe. Lightly raced and has more to come 3. FRAMATHO – 5th last time over 3500m in a Class 3 chase at Dieppe on June 29th. Looks vulnerable 4. MAGIC FLIGHT – Won last time in a handicap hurdle over 3600m at Auteuil on June 15th. Honest performer who can be involved on chase debut 5. KOUNTRY MAG – Won last time over 3500m in a Class 3 hurdle at Dax on June 23rd. Ought to be on the premises on chasing debut 6. ALTESSEROYALETAVEL – 3rd last time over 3700m in a Class 3 chase at this track on July 1st. Needs a few to falter 7. KABRIOLE D’AINAY – Nice 2nd last time over 3500m in a Class 3 chase at Dieppe on June 29th. Ought to be in the shake-up 8. EDITION ORIGINALE – Two unplaced runs of late, won before that over 3400m in a Class 3 chase at Lyon Parilly on May 9th. Live chance 9. KIROGA – Nice win last time over 3600m in a Class 2 hurdle at Senonnes on July 6th. Hard to rule out on her first run over fences 10. TALMAK – Has four unplaced runs so far, the latter over 3800m in a Class 4 chase on July 6th. She can be passed over Summary: EDITION ORIGINALE (8) can get back on track after a couple of unplaced efforts of late. She has most to fear from the promising PRESTIGE D’OLVA (2) who scored on his chase debut at Dieppe in June and looks as though he has plenty more to come. KABRIOLE D’AINAY (7) is one for the each-way backers to take seriously after a pleasing second 26 days ago at Dieppe. KIROGA (9) also caches the eye on her first attempt over fences. SELECTIONS EDITION ORIGINALE (8) – PRESTIGE D’OLVA (2) – KABRIOLE D’AINAY (7) – KIROGA (9) C4 – PRIX DU RESTAURANT LE VIEUX HONFLEUR (PRIX DES ORCHIDEES) – 3600m (a2m1/4) – TURF – Class 3 Race – Hurdles – EUR € 37,000 1. KARNAVAL POINT – Nice win last time over 3400m at Dieppe in a Class 3 hurdle on June 28th. That was his hurdling debut and he can follow up 2. OUT IN THE RAIN – Unplaced at Auteuil in a Class 3 hurdle over 3500m on June 1st. Two runs before that on the flat, with a 3rd on debut at Orleans in May. Place chance 3. POLARKLY – Two unplaced runs over hurdles, the latter over 3600m in a Class 2 race on July 6th. Placed on the flat. Place contender 4. KING DES GENIEVRES – Unplaced on all three runs so far, the latter over 3800m in a Class 3 hurdle at Vittel on July 14th. Makes little appeal 5. NIKA NOWER – Newcomer by Nicaron, the dam won over hurdles. Likely to need this run. Monitor the betting for clues 6. BY EXETER – 2nd two runs ago on the flat at Lyon La Soie on December 2nd over 2150m in handicap. Hurdle race debut and best-watched 7. THE MUST – Decent 4th behind KARNAVAL POINT (1) at Dieppe on June 28th over 3400m on his most recent outing. On better terms weight wise he has leading claims 8. KATIKA D’ENGILBERT – 2nd last time over 3200m at Jarnac in a Class 5 hurdle on October 8th. Fitness is taken on trust and can make the frame if ready to go 9. SWING THE RING – Unplaced on hurdle race debut at Dieppe on June 6th over 3400m. Won twice on the flat at up to 2000m and will need improvement to feature Unplaced on all three 10. JEROBOAM JENNY – Unplaced on both runs over hurdles, the latter over 3400m at Dieppe in a Class 3 event on June 29th. Hard to fancy 11. PHAM – Unplaced on hurdling debut at Strasbourg on July 8th over 3800m. Can be on the premises with a clear round of jumping 12. MAMAMOUCHI – Unplaced on hurdle race debut at Dieppe on July 13th. Did win three times on the flat and is one to consider 13. MISS GREELEY – 5th on hurdling debut at Aix-Les-Bains in a Class 3 race on July 4th. Won two claiming races on the flat. Merits consideration Summary: KARNAVAL POINT (1) jumped well on his hurdle race debut at Dieppe when scoring in late June. He looks like a horse to follow and can be expected to follow up. THE MUST (7) was back in fourth in the same race at Dieppe and has around a length to find as it was a close finish that day. On better terms today he can make things interesting. PHAM (11) showed ability until parting company with her jockey on her hurdle race debut and is one to keep safe. MAMAMOUCHI (12) is worth a mention.…

French Selections Wednesday 24th
R1 ENGHIEN [L-H] C1 – PRIX DE LA PORTE DE CHOISY – 2250m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 33,000 1. MAESTRO VRIE – Career debutant that qualified in 1’18″5 at Le Mans late last month. Hails from a good home and would not be here without a realistic chance of imposing 2. MAGICO DE LOU – Qualified in 1’17″7 at Grosbois on 20 June and if as good in competition, will be in a position to play a prominent role 3. MAXOU AMAX – Qualified in 1’19″4 at Grosbois on 20 June, which is unlikely to cut the mustard. Chances limited 4. MENTALIST AR – Untried element that qualified without fanfare late-May at Bordeaux and already looks out of his depth 5. MIX D’ERONVILLE – Qualified in 1’18″5 at Grosbois late-May. Franck Nivard engaged for the occasion but looks no more than a minor place prospect 6. MAGNUM DU CHOQUEL – 3rd of 4 finishers to MAESTRO DE JOUDES (8) in a 2100m Class F at Le Touquet 10 days ago. Unlikely to spring a surprise but is still worth keeping an eye on 7. MILORD D’IRAI – Pleasant 3rd to MONZON NORMAND (9) at Bernay earlier this month before faulting in a 2100m Class F at Le Touquet 10 days ago but, with application, can set things straight 8. MAESTRO DE JOUDES – Defied an unremarkable qualification to win a 2100m Class F at Le Touquet on debut 10 days ago. David Thomain reining this time and will have his chances 9. MONZON NORMAND – Made short work of a 2300m Bernay Class F on 7 July. Will have come on for the run and will take all the beating Summary: A number of promising juveniles here but it is hard to ignore MONZON NORMAND (9) who won smartly on debut [on turf] earlier this month and looks good enough to repeat. Expected to lead the opposition is the untried pair of MAESTRO VRIE (1) who qualified pleasantly at Le Mans, and the Bruno Bourgoin-trained MAGICO DE LOU (2) whose qualification was somewhat more eye-catching. MAESTRO DE JOUDES (8) got down to business at the first time of asking and should find the Enghien profile to his liking. SELECTIONS MONZON NORMAND (9) – MAESTRO VRIE (1) – MAGICO DE LOU (2) – MAESTRO DE JOUDES (8) C2 – PRIX DE LA PORTE DIDOT – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 40,000 1. KLASSE DE BRUZEAU – Pleasant 4th of 10 finishers in a 2800m Vichy Class D 3 weeks ago. Has the inside line here and David Thomain can be confident of picking up some prizemoney 2. KALISKA DE FORGAN – Unremarkable 5th of 8 in a 2850m Vincennes monté Class D on 21 June, on first start since the spell. Is first time barefoot but still has her work cut out 3. KANTARELLINA CHIC – No closer than 6th in as many runs this term, latterly last but one behind KLASSE DE BRUZEAU (1) in a 2800m Vichy Class D 3 weeks ago. Sports front pads, and is drawn well, but still not an obvious choice 4. KENA DE PADD – Capable filly making first appearance since coming last but one in a 2175m Vincennes Class C early-February, and will need the outing 5. KATY’S TIME – Good 3rd on Cherbourg re-entry before winning a Class E over course and distance late-June. Steps marginally up in category but still looks a major player 6. KYNTE FLUSH – 6th of 8 when preparing for this in a 2900m Clairefontaine Class D 10 days ago. Sports a new configuration and, already twice a winner for her driver, can add another success to her tally 7. KATIA DHELPA – Lost her action when suffering early interference in a Class D over 2875m here 11 days ago. Is better than her numbers would suggest, goes unshod-behind, and with application will not be far off the mark 8. KELLA MADRIK – Left a very good impression when 4th of 10 finishers, on comeback, in a 2650m Class D at Les Sables d’Olonne on 13 July. Starts wide but still has the wherewithal to make a big splash 9. KORALIA DE CROUAY – 3rd of 11 finishers in a 2850m Carentan Class E 11 days ago. Is new to the venue and already looks to be out of her depth 10. KANDICE DU LOISIR – Last of 11, at 135/1, in a 2850m Vincennes Class D on 11 June. Starts on the second line and can be ruled out 11. KIRA DE CAHOT – Sanctioned early in a 2050m Cabourg Class D 3 weeks ago. Form clearly heading in right direction and, despite the draw, can play an important role if focused 12. KAI LA SHA – Below-par in last 2, most recently last of 13 in a 2150m Class D here 3 weeks ago, and must get her house in order 13. KALINE JAMINI – Steps up in category after trotting 3rd of 14 in a Class F over 2875m here on 6 July. Not particularly well-drawn but with Benjamin Rochard reining, will be afforded every chance 14. KARA DE PIERREPONT – Sprang a 67/1 surprise when 2nd of 12 in a 2725m Lisieux Class E early-July, but will struggle to confirm 15. KETMIE PRINCESSE – Disappointing in all 3 starts this term, latterly sanctioned in a 2650m Class D at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 13 July. Has pulled a tough draw and chances limited 16. KISS ME DE JEAN – 9th of 12 finishers, on return from a spell, in a 2725m Lisieux Class E earlier in the month. Races barefoot for the occasion but the draw does her no favours Summary: A winner over longer here 12 months ago, the temperamental KYNTE FLUSH (6) has two runs under her belt, is shod competitively for the first time, and is sufficiently well-placed to open her 2024 account. Alexandre Abrivard will nonetheless be keeping a keen eye on the progressive KATY’S TIME (5) who won over 2875m here last month and, going unshod-behind, looks the main danger. KELLA MADRIK (8) starts wide but showed her condition on recent re-entry and is shod as she was when imposing across town earlier in the year. Starting just to her inside, KATIA DHELPA (7) may not be the easiest of horses to handle and Tom Beauvais will be out to make up for her recent misfortune here. SELECTIONS KYNTE FLUSH (6) – KATY’S TIME (5) – KELLA MADRIK (8) – KATIA DHELPA (7) C3 – PRIX DE CLIGNANCOURT – 2875m (a2m) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 46,000 1. LOST – Has not been seen out since being sanctioned in a 2700m Vincennes Class C late-February and will need the race 2. L’ARGENTIER – Sanctioned after 500m in a Class D over course and distance a week ago. Is a serious horse though and will be expected to apply the pressure on LE GRAAL (10) 3. LUCHADOR – Sent for a holiday after trotting 3rd of 7 finishers in a 2100m Vincennes Class C last January and is not going to generate much interest 4. L’ESPOIR DES BAUX – Made up for his Mont-Saint-Michel sanction when winning a 2800m Chartres Class E in good order late last month, but is being aimed a bit too high this time around 5. LUGANO DE LOU – Made short work of a 2950m Vichy Class E 3 weeks ago. Disappointing on only left-handed start but has buckets of talent and is not about to left the side down. Chance 6. LARGO LIGNERIES – Sanctioned in 2 of last 3, most recently a 2700m Vincennes Class C late last month and is unlikely to shake things up 7. LE CHEF – Won his first 2 before trotting 2nd only to a fine horse in a 2750m Class D at La Capelle Class D earlier this month. Should take well to Enghien conditions and must be taken seriously 8. LORD DES FANES – Encouraged at Chartres before coming 4th of 8 in a Class C over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Just front pads fitted this time but others still preferred 9. LOOPING D’HERIPRE – Won at Saint-Malo before coming 4th of 5, behind LUCIFER (11), in a 2700m Vincennes Class C a month back. Is significantly better than that though and must not be overlooked 10. LE GRAAL – Particularly impressive 4th of 8 finishers in a 2900m Clairefontaine Class D, on return from a 6 months’ break. Shod to preference this time and can wrap this up 11. LUCIFER – 3rd of 5 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class C late-June. Regularly in the mix but will not be losing his maiden status this time around 12. LEADER DE JOUDES – 5th, a place behind LE GRAAL (10), in a 2900m Clairefontaine Class D, on first start back, mid-month. Will have come on for the run and, shod to preference, will not be far off the mark Summary: A spirited colt with talent to burn, LE GRAAL (10) was eye-catching on his turf re-entry mid-month and, with pads fitted, can make this his own. That said, he will face resistance from the progressive L’ARGENTIER (2), provided Yoann Lebourgeois keeps him trotting. Facile winner on comeback, LUGANO DE LOU (5) races left-handed this time but, in current form, is very easy to like. LEADER DE JOUDES (12) comported herself well behind the Duvaldestin horse, also on comeback and, with pads fitted this time, will legitimately garner support. SELECTIONS LE GRAAL (10) – L’ARGENTIER (2) – LUGANO DE LOU (5) – LEADER DE JOUDES (12) C4 – PRIX DE LA HAUTE MARNE – 2875m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 41,000 1. PRIVATE BANKER SB – Makes Enghien debut after trotting 7th of 10 over 2300m at Mons a fortnight ago. Performant when unshod-all-4 and makes his Enghien debut with a good hand to play 2. COSTELLO O.E. – Takes first competitive steps at Enghien after scoring 9 straight, latterly over 2000m at Duindigt earlier this month. Is being aimed higher this time and the fruitful streak may have to come to an end 3. DERBY KRONOS – Won 4 on the trot in Italy before being sanctioned, when on course for a place payday, in a 2850m Vincennes Class D on 21 June. Gelormini takes over the reins and will be no shrinking violet. Chance 4. PRESTO D’AN – Sanctioned over 2300m at Ostende when preparing for this 9 days ago. Is back to racing barefoot but others still preferred…

French Selections Friday 12th
R1 CABOURG [R-H] C1 – PRIX DES PIVOINES – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 29,000 1. LEMBELIE VERDERIE – Good, consistent filly that finished 4th of 11, at 30/1, in a 2725m Class D here 10 days ago. Not a priority but always gives her best and will generate some interest 2. LOUPIAC DE GODREL – Modest colt that was sanctioned early in a 2725m Class D here 10 days ago. Just front pads fitted this time but still not an obvious choice 3. LUBIN SECRET – In the frame in first 4 before finishing a well-beaten 7th of 8 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C last Sunday and backs up with limited ambition 4. LOTUS DE BEYLEV – Got straight down to business, after a 5 months’ break, in a 2200m Caen Class E late-May. Comes here fresh, with a front-row start, and is not one to be overlooked 5. LEMONADE FIZZ – 6th of 10, on first start since the layoff, in a 2700m Vincennes Class C a fortnight ago. Will have come on for the run but still no more than a minor place prospect 6. LET’S GO MAURICIEN – Took his game to a new level mid-June when winning a 2450m Caen Class D. Has earned the right to take his chances here and the 3-timer looks a distinct possibility 7. LIBELLA DU HOULBET – Has not been seen out since coming last of 6, behind LAMATTA (13), in a 2850m Vincennes Class C late-April. Breaks from the front but others still preferred 8. LOVE GLYCINES – Could well have won a 2150m Enghien Class D a fortnight ago had he not hesitated 30m out, but Franck Nivard is unlikely to allow the same thing to happen again. Chance 9. LABEL GEMA – Runner-up in last 2, latterly a 2200m Caen Class D late last month. Benefits from a superb entry in front and can play a leading role 10. LITTLE KING – Complicated type starting for the first time since faulting in a 2175m Vincennes Class A late-January. Has ample ability but will need the race 11. LAZURA PRIOR – Last of 6 in a 2175m Vincennes Class B early last month and even in this company will have too much to do 12. LOVELY TRIP – Drops back in category after faulting in a 2700m Vincennes Class A on 21 May. Showed his form that day though, has had time to get his game together and, with shoes back on, can redeem himself 13. LAMATTA – Makes her first appearance since faulting in a 2700m Vincennes Class A late-May. Impressive in last 2 racing right-handed and, even though shod, must still be taken seriously 14. LOVER SIXTY ONE – Complicated but promising colt making first start since faulting in a 2700m Vincennes Class A late-February and is sure to be race-rusty 15. LOVELY KOOL – Flattering 3rd of 8 finishers in a 2875m Enghien claimer a fortnight ago and will struggle to make any impact 16. LAGNU MAG – Left a good impression at Vincennes before coming close 2nd in a 2950m Vichy Class B on 25 June. Incurs the handicap but in this category looks competitively well-in Summary: A number of quality elements lining up here but preference must nevertheless go to front-line starters LET’S GO MAURICIEN (6) who debuts at Cabourg on a hat-trick, and LOVE GLYCINES (8) and LABEL GEMA (9) who are plainly close to getting off the mark. Well-engaged at the limit of earnings, LAGNU MAG (16) has done nothing but improve lately and even with an extra 25m to travel, looks a player. SELECTIONS LET’S GO MAURICIEN (6) – LOVE GLYCINES (8) – LABEL GEMA (9) – LAGNU MAG (16) C2 – PRIX DES MUSCARIS – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Mounted – EUR € 37,000 1. IMPALA DE VAL – Sanctioned in a 2450m Caen Class D mid-June, when plainly in excellent shape. Has never disappointed at Cabourg and will be expected to put the record straight 2. FAUST DE BEYLEV – Makes first French start since faulting over 2100m at Kouvola mid-June, and present form does little to inspire confidence 3. DOWHATYOUDODOWELL – Sports modified shoeing after coming 9th of 16 in a 2850m Vincennes Gr.3 late last month. Not a priority but will certainly not be available at 90/1 on this occasion 4. FARCEUR DE MAI – 5th of 12 in a 2875m Enghien Class D a fortnight ago but, in this company, will have his work cut out 5. FERRERO DU LOISIR – Capable on a good day and most recently 5th of 16 in a 2800m Castéra-Verduzan harness Class E late last month. Barefoot for the occasion but other more attractive options available 6. HARMONIOUSLY – Surprise 6th of 10 to HORSY ROYAL (7) in Caen race of reference, but a repeat seems highly unlikely 7. HORSY ROYAL – Surprisingly out of sorts when 6th of 9 in a 2875m Enghien Class D on 3 July but Paul Ploquin will be loathe to let the same thing happen again. Claim 8. FLOPY RUSH – Was pleasing in both codes before flopping to 8th of 10 finishers in a 3100m Class E at La Gacilly last weekend, and hind shoes off or not, is unlikely to spring any surprises 9. HIS DREAM DE CAHOT – Blows hot and cold but in the frame in last 2, most recently 3rd of 9 finishers in a 2875m Enghien Class D earlier this month, and has the capacity to finish close 10. HUGO OCCAGNES – Quickly sanctioned in a 2750m Class D here a week ago. Has otherwise been firing on all cylinders, sports a new configuration and, with application, can finish in the mix 11. GLADYS DU CEDRE – Last but one when preparing for this in a 2675m Class D at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 26 June. Barefoot, as is her preference, and can pick up a thin slice of the pie 12. IBERIK DE MONGOCHY – Last but one when prepping for this in a 2850m Vincennes Gr.3 on 23 June. Shod to preference for return to his code of preference and looks a serious proposition 13. GUAPO MARBOULA – Pleased at Laval before being sanctioned in a 2850m Vincennes Class C 3 weeks ago. Stays shod though and others easier to back Summary: Although oddly lacklustre last time out, HORSY ROYAL (7) has otherwise been in flying form for some time and, winner of his only Cabourg start, will be expected to make a good go of this. Paul Ploquin will nevertheless be keeping a watchful eye on IMPALA DE VAL (1) who has already imposed 5 times this year, and the complicated but talented IBERIK DE MONGOCHY (12) who flew up in a Vincennes Class D 2 months ago, and who returns to racing unshod-behind. HIS DREAM DE CAHOT (9) reassured in Paris 9 days ago and, with form maintained, can again make the frame. SELECTIONS HORSY ROYAL (7) – IMPALA DE VAL (1) – IBERIK DE MONGOCHY (12) – HIS DREAM DE CAHOT (9) C3 – PRIX DES LANTANAS – 2725m (a1m1/2) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 27,000 1. HEROINE DARCHE – 4th, a place behind IOHANNA THIEBEN (3), in a 2750m Class E here a week ago, and, in similar form, can again finish in first 3 2. HEIDI DU BISET – Has not got her nose in front for some time but held her own when 5th in last week’s race of reference. Gabi Gelormini maintains faith and his mare will not be sent out at 30/1 this time around 3. IOHANNA THIEBEN – Very good 3rd of 13 in a 2750m Class E here last week. Shod as she was here early last month, has never disappointed at Cabourg and, from the 3-spot, should have the measure of the field 4. HEDENN LOVE DE REM – Sanctioned in a 2900m Arras Class G late last month, to continue her poor run of form, and can be confidently ruled out 5. LOAD MASTER – Quality Swedish sort making his French debut not having run since coming last of 12 over 2140m at Solvalla on Boxing Day, but he races barefoot for the occasion and is sure to generate interest 6. NEVELE HALL GRAUX – Not the horse he once was but has been pleasing lately. 4th over 2840m at Mons just over 3 weeks ago and, racing barefoot for the first time in 15 months, will be worth keeping an eye on 7. HUNICOIS – Back in the professional ranks after going down by little in a 2200m Caen Class G on 24 June. Handed a wide berth but excels with his driver and looks principal danger to IOHANNA THIEBEN (3) 8. HIPPONY BOURGEOISE – Pleased twice before coming 8th to IOHANNA THIEBEN (3) in a 3000m Jallais Class E mid-June, and will have nothing to offer 9. IRMINIO KILY – Did not enjoy the best of trips when sanctioned in a 2800m Vichy Class F late last month. Acquits himself respectably for the most part when focused however and even from the 2nd line, can make his presence felt 10. IRON MAN DE HOERDT – Last of 9 in a 2850m Vincennes claimer on 25 June and has no realistic chance 11. OBLIVION – Unraced since faulting in a 2150m Enghien Class D 4 months ago. Is in competition-mode for his comeback though and must be afforded respect 12. CAMPIONE RAL – Races barefoot for the first time this term after finishing last of 5 in a 2250m Enghien monté Class E a fortnight ago, and is unlikely to influence the result 13. COMAND – Sent for a spell after coming last of 11 in a 2950m Vichy Class D early-May. Barefoot this time but is forced to start on back line and others easier to support 14. HERCULE DE L’OISON – Surprise winner of a 2500m Molières Class H last weekend but has been handed a tough draw and is not about to shake things up Summary: Third to a very good horse here just last week, after having twice come close, IOHANNA THIEBEN (3) finds herself with a top spot behind the car and, with hind shoes back on, will take all the beating. HUNICOIS (7) starts wide but is enjoying a productive run of form and has won 2 of 3 for Yoann Lebourgeois. The complicated OBLIVION (11) starts on the second row but has nothing to prove at this level, and barefoot for re-entry, is not to be underestimated. HEROINE DARCHE (1) finished a place behind David Armellini’s mare here last week and will be expected to confirm. SELECTIONS…
