2. COCOTTE ROYALE – Unraced by Chanducoq, stable runners warrant respect. The betting market can be the best guide to expected performance

3. LOVEBABY BLUE – Unraced by Motivator, the dam was placed on the flat. Stable runners warrant respect and this filly will know what is required

4. TARFAYA – Unraced by Saint Des Saints, the dam never ran. From a leading stable that can prepare newcomers to strike on their first day at school. Bold show likely

5. SPICCHI – One run when 5th on the flat over 3000m at Angers on September 30th. Hurdle debut and others make more appeal

6. LEMON SWEET – Won last time on her second start over 2300m at Durtal on April 21st on the flat on her second run. Can be expected to score on hurdle race debut

7. SILVER BUCKLE – Unraced by Silverwave, the dam won on the flat. From a respected stable who has two runners in this event. The betting can guide

Summary: LEMON SWEET (6) has run well on both of her runs on the flat. She was second on debut and followed that up with a win at Durtal over 2300m in late April. She will be well schooled and is preferred to VICTORY FIELD (1) who shaped well when she was second on her only run on the flat at Pompadour last month. She should know what is required on her debut over hurdles. FEMME EN BLEUE (8) looks good on paper and her dam was a useful performer over jumps. TARFAYA (4) makes up the shortlist.

3. BIENNE – A regular in Parisian handicaps and has acquitted herself well in defeat recently – finished 4th in 1100m Chantilly handicap on 3 October. Keep safe

4. ROYAL VATI – Successful on PSF, especially at this venue. Soundly beaten in 3 consecutive recent appearances, the latest (11th) over 1600m at Toulouse on 25 September but is dangerous to discount – on the shortlist

5. MA CHERIE AMOUR – Soundly beaten/unplaced on her return to French soil last time, finishing 14th at Dax on 29 September over 1200m. Others preferred

6. RIONEGRO – On a long losing run despite dropping in the weights/ratings – soundly beaten (14th) at La Teste over 2000m in a handicap on 6 August. Best watched for now

9. ERNAN CORTES – On a long losing run in the Parisian region, despite dropping in the weights/ratings. Unplaced (10th) at Le Croise-Laroche over 1800m in a handicap on 7 October – can do better in this grade/company

13. ZASTER FOR ALL – Soundly beaten (10th) in a 2100m Tarbes handicap on 23 September and unlikely to trouble the judge

14. CALY ROSAY – Continues to blow hot and cold in handicaps on both surfaces. Unplaced (7th) at Angers over 1350m on 30 September

15. WINO – Improved recently with headgear refitted and showed her form/well-being by finishing 3rd in a 1600m Toulouse handicap on 25 September. Attractive outsider

Summary: This won’t take much winning and a chance is taken on AS A CHARM (2) who won off a higher mark on this track last year. The same, however, applies to both ROYAL VATI (4) and TERANGA (8) whose chances shouldn’t be underestimated. Track specialist SOLITARY MAN (10) also has the means to surprise off his current (reduced) mark back on the PSF. BIENNE (3) is another with legitimate podium aspirations.

12. KIM WHITE – Took a biog step forward from her debut (10th) to finish an encouraging 3rd at Tarbes over 1500m on 23 September. Confirmation expected

13. AUTOMNALE – Soundly beaten in all 3 appearances, the latest (9th) over 1200m at Dax on 6 October. Hard to make a case for

14. BLUE LILAS – Has placed/shown promise in two starts, finishing 3rd on both occasions in well-composed fields – the latest on 4 September at Lyon-Parilly. Likely favorite

15. JEALOUS SKY – Consistent filly whose experience stands her in good stead. Finished a disappointing 6th over 1200m at Dax on 20 August but shouldn’t be hastily condemned

16. BOUDAY SERERE – American Devil gelding trained by Olivier De Montzey and to be ridden on debut by Gary Sanchez. Best watched for now

Summary: François Rohaut has 2 strings to his bow and holds the key to this event with promising fillies BLUE LILAS (14), honorable 3rd in the coveted Prix de la Reboursière on debut, and QUIET WIFE (9), whose debut 4th was encouraging, likely to fight for victory. FUSEE DE PORCHE (1), after an eye-catching 4th at Tarbes recently, has the form and experience to challenge those rivals, with the shortlist completed by last-start winner MARVELOUS BY NIGHT (10) and improving KIM WHITE (12).

C7 – PRIX DE SAINT-FAUST – 1400m (a7f) – ALL WEATHER – Class 4 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 15,000

1. KATHALINA – A model of consistency in turf handicaps and seldom finishes far off the mark. Showed her form and well-being when 2nd in a 1500m Tarbes handicap on 5 June – not taken lightly on her reappearance

2. SHANGRI LA – Consistent performer in Spain and didn’t go unnoticed when last seen on French soil, finishing 4th in a 1900m handicap at La Test on 28 July. Attractive outsider

3. ODIN – Honest hard-knocking handicapper with sound references/form credentials. Ran well in defeat (6th) at Dax over 1200m 29 September – dark horse

4. UNTITLED – Soundly beaten/unplaced in both recent comeback appearances, the latest (10th) over 1200m at Dax on 29 September. Others preferred

5. LA FIBRE – Inconsistent performer on turf (since May) but is efficient on PSF and has sound references over course and distance in handicaps of this nature. Respected despite finishing 8th at Royan on 15 September

6. SUPER CUTE – Unreliable but has sound references in handicaps at this level/venue, including several 1600m wins on this track, albeit with blinkers fitted. Reassured when 5th in a 1600m Toulouse handicap 25 September

7. BEYOND MY DREAMS – Soundly beaten in both comeback outings last month after a 16-week absence, the latest (12th) over 1200m at Dax on 29 September. Others preferred

8. MALLORCA SUN – Out of sorts at present but will appreciate reverting to PSF and should fare better as a result. Shouldn’t be hastily condemned for his failure (13th) over 2100m on turf at Dax on 7 September – keep safe

9. RICHMOND – Runner-up on this track over 1600m on 10 March in his last PSF appearance/race. Inconsistent since on turf and only 14th in a 1400m handicap at La Teste on 13 August but will enjoy racing on this surface

10. WILBUR – Absent since 26 May 2022 when finishing 12th in a 2400m Toulouse handicap. Best watched for now

11. KARIBBEAN DREAM – Game frontrunner and hard to get by if allowed an uncontested lead. Unplaced 912th) in over 2000m at Marseille-Vivaux on 9 October but remains capable of better

12. CHIEF RED CLOUD – Has struggled in handicaps this year and finished unplaced (11th) over 1600m at Toulouse last month (25 September). Others more persuasive

13. LADY PINK – Continues to blow hot and cold but her efficiency/competitiveness in handicaps at this venue/on PSF is beyond doubt. Didn’t go unnoticed when 6th in a 1600m Toulouse handicap on 25 September

14. BRIDGE WATER – An 11-start maiden soundly beaten/unplaced in all 4 appearances on French soil, the latest (11th) over 1200m at Dax on 29 September. Hard to recommend

15. VERDINA – Inconsistent handicapper who struggled/finished unplaced (8th) in a 1600m Toulouse handicap last month (25 September). For another day

Summary: RICHMOND (9) caught the eye several times last winter on this course and recent performances/results on the turf aren’t a true reflection of his ability, so it could be worth siding with him on his return to this surface for the first time since March. MALLORCA SUN (8), another PSF returnee, is dangerous off a reduced mark and could threaten the selection. LA FIBER (5), at ease on this track, and SUPER CUTE (6), even without blinkers in which she is most effective, have podium aspirations.

SELECTIONS

C8 – PRIX DU PIC D’OSSAU – 1400m (a7f) – ALL WEATHER – Class 4 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 17,000

1. FULL GAIN – Honest hard-knocking handicapper with sound form references/credentials in handicaps on this track, including a 1600m victory. Ran well in defeat (6th) in a 1400m Class 4 at Toulouse on 18 September

2. KATALINA – Unreliable but boasts sound references in handicaps at this level/venue and retains sufficient means. Confirmed as much by finishing 2nd in a 1200m turf claimer at La Test on 30 August – needs to confirm

3. ARFAN – Soundly beaten (unplaced) in both handicap appearances, albeit off a higher mark on both occasions. Finished 4th at Cavaillon in a 1600m conditions race on 22 September – dropped another 1kg, beware

4. LOUIS SKI – Inconsistent but undeniably capable handicapper. Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 6th in a 1600m Toulouse handicap on 25 September and shouldn’t be underestimated off a career-low mark

5. ITALO – A model of consistency in handicaps, especially on the PSF – never worse than 3rd in 6 outings at Pau. Runner-up in a 1600m turf handicap at La Teste on 30 August and will prove hard to beat here

6. LADY LUNE – Finished 2nd and 7th in 2 appearances on this surface, both at Deauville. Soundly beaten (12th) in a 1400m turf handicap at La Teste on 13 August but could fare better returned to the PSF

7. CODE OF SILENCE – Honest hard-knocker seldom far off the mark although hard to win with (just 2 victories from 31 starts). Didn’t go unnoticed when 4th in a 1400m conditions race at Toulouse on 18 September – place chance

8. RAFALE – Rarely seen on PSF and has struggled in the handicap category, albeit off considerably higher marks. Dropped another 1m5kg after finishing 6th in a 1400m turf claimer at Dax on 8 July – watch for now

9. NUIT D’ALIENOR – Lost her way in handicaps earlier this year but regained form/momentum recently in turf claimers, the latest (2nd) over 1600m at Royan on 15 September. Not taken lightly back in a handicap off this mark

10. OLIVA – Long-time maiden (25 starts) with sound handicap references, including a last-start 4th over 1600m at Toulouse on 25 September. Dark horse

11. DABIRADJA – Out of sorts on turf since April but is efficient on PSF – will appreciate reverting to this surface. Has solid references in handicaps at this venue so should do better than she did (9th) at Dax on 29 September

12. POLIVATE – Versatile hard-knocker with references in handicap races on both surfaces, including a last-start 4th at Dax in a 1200m turf handicap on 29 September. Reverts to PSF and will appeal to lovers of outsiders

13. O GRE DES SAISONS – Hard-knocking handicapper who seldom finishes far off the mark although rarely wins (2 victories from 43 appearances). Needs to reaffirm after a disappointing 9th over 1600m at La Teste on 30 August

14. YSSINGEAUX – Bounced back to form with a reassuring 2nd in a 1600m turf claimer at Pompadour on 20 July. Absent since so is best watched for now

15. JELIEL – Has regained momentum after 2 pleasing comeback/handicap appearances off this mark – finished 4th in both, the latest on turf at Compiegne over 1400m on 25 September. Attractive outsider, even on PSF

16. VIRIMOON ETOILE – Continues to blow hot and cold but her efficiency/competitiveness in handicaps at this track is beyond doubt.  Caught the eye when a reassuring 3rd over 1900m at Cazaubon-Barbotan on 30 September

Summary: ITALO (5) finished on the podium in all 6 visits to this course, albeit over further. That experience stands him in good stead and he gets the nod in the ‘Lucky Last’ ahead of FULL GAIN (1) whose aptitude for this track is also not in question. ARFAN (3), judged on his best references and racing off a lower mark, and VIRIMOON ETOILE (16), dropped to a dangerous rating with the benefit of an apprentice allowance, appeal most of the remainder.

C1 – PRIX DE LA PLACE DES FETES – 2250m (a1m1/2) – Class E Amateur Riders Race – Mounted – EUR € 37,000

1. IMPEC DE BERTRANGE – Unremarkable trotter that finished last of 12, to IMOUR DU VEILLEROT (6), in a 2850m Class H at Nuillé-sur-Vicoin last weekend, and has no possible chance

2. INTRIGUE DE MAX – Produced a brace of good efforts last month before trailing in last of nine in a 2875m Class E here 10 days ago, and is not about to cause an upset

3. IMAYA CHRISTUBERT – Makes monté bow after running 10th of 13 in a 2000m amateurs harness Class G at Parilly 9 days ago, and current form does nothing to inspire confidence

4. IDAHO (SWI) – Quality element that was sanctioned in a 2100m Vincennes harness Class B a month ago. Has form at the venue and can make a big splash if he takes to his new vocation

5. IVOLI ZEUS – Ran 2nd at Vic-Fezensac on monté debut before coming 5th of 12, a place behind INDY DES PENDANTS (7), in a 2750m Cabourg Class E on 3 October. Is proven under harness here and looks a player

6. IMOUR DU VEILLEROT – Secured his 2nd monté victory last Sunday, winning a 2850m Class H at Nuillé-sur-Vicoin and, even reconfigured, is unlikely to repeat

7. INDY DES PENDANTS – Seldom disappoints in this branch of the business, most recently 4th of 12 in a 2750m Cabourg Class E on 3 October, and will be expected to make first 5 once more

8. GIANT DESIGN – Returns to France after trotting 5th of 7 over 2140m at Jägersro on 10 September and, even unshod behind this time, debuts in the code with limited ambition

9. IN LOVE GEDE – No champion but always gives her best, most recently 5th of 11 in a 2750m Angouleme Class F a fortnight ago, and will have her supporters

10. IRIS THORIS – Respectable 4th of 8 in a 2700m Graignes Class F last Sunday. Has not put a foot wrong for some time and has a realistic claim on a place in the frame

11. IMAIL DE CARSI – Last of 5 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on 8 October. Endured a tough trip that day but form is not in question and will not go down easily

12. INFERNO POURPRE – 8th of 12 in a 2100m Vincennes harness Class E 8 days ago. Has good speed, evident ability, and will be dangerous if he adapts to the new conditions

13. STACCATO HL – Has enjoyed a sterling start to ridden career at home in Germany, opening his account over 2100m at München-Daglfing mid-September. Takes on a better lot this time but is still capable of holding his own

Summary: More than capable under harness, but nevertheless prone to stride woes, IDAHO (SWI) (4) takes his first public steps under the saddle and could well win this if he stays in stride. INFERNO POURPRE (12), on the other hand, has had the benefit of one monté start and will similarly have his chances if ability transitions. Significantly better than his recent result would suggest, IMAIL DE CARSI (11) is hard to knock when focused and in current form should logically finish in the mix. IRIS THORIS (10) only just lost her maiden tag in August but has been as dependable as connections could ask for and, although new to Enghien, still looks a contender.

C2 – PRIX DE LA PLACE SAINT-CHARLES – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 41,000

1. JUANA DE SEY – Complemented her Laval victory with another on 23 September, dominating a 2700m Class E at La Capelle. Would have preferred a better draw but can win this if Robin Lamy positions her early

2. JOLIE DU CEBE – 10th of 15 in a 2700m Class E at Le Croisé-Laroche on 2 October. Sports modified shoeing but has been a write-off since the spring and can be ruled out

3. JITANA WILD – Made up for Pornichet sanction when 2nd of 9 in a 2150m Vichy Class E a month ago and returns to racing left-handed, from the 3-spot, and can pick up some prizemoney

4. JADESKA – Good 3rd of 7 finishers in a 2050m Laval Class E late last month. Eric Raffin could not have hoped for a better draw and will be keen to take advantage

5. JAMAIQUE PAJELO – Sanctioned in a 2875m monté Class D here 9 days ago. Has never shown much aptitude for the harness game and can be passed over

6. JUSQUINE FOUTEAU – 7th of 12, when being prepared for this, in a 3000m Nantes Class E 3 weeks ago. Has a lot going for her this time and will be expected to contest the finish

7. JUPANQUIE TONIQUE – Blows hot and cold but finished a pleasant 5th of 8 in a 2175m Vincennes Class E on 13 September. Starts in front and once again looks a decent first-5 chance

8. JAMAIQUE DE HOERDT – Has ample ability but disappointing in last 2, most recently 6th of 12 in a 2550m Dieppe Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Forced to start wide on front line but could still get a look-in

9. JAZERANE – Won 2 of last 4, most recently a 2050m Laval Class E late last month. Forced to start on back line but will not be available at 31/1 on this occasion

10. JALAYA DES BROUETS – Lacklustre 8th of 10 in a 2850m Vincennes Class E late last month. Has never delivered at Enghien and is not about to start

11. JALNA DU BUISSON – Sanctioned early in a 2450m Caen Class E a week ago. Has done nothing noteworthy for some time and can be disregarded

12. JESS D’HERTALS – Has been knocking at the door recently, latterly 4th of 11 in a 2875m Class E here on 10 October and, despite the draw, can figure prominently

13. JABADAMES – 10th of 12, on return to competition, in a 2750m Cabourg Class E a fortnight ago and, even racing barefoot, has no possible chance

Summary: Unplaced here during the summer, JUANA DE SEY (1) has since made amends with 2 straight successes and, if not victim to the hazards of the draw, can secure the hat-trick. Better-situated in front and barefoot for the occasion, JUSQUINE FOUTEAU (6) can play a dominant role, as can JAZERANE (9) if still on the boil. Reassuring behind her at Laval, JADESKA (4) has been entrusted to Eric Raffin for the first time and will be competitive for a place on the podium.

SELECTIONS

C3 – PRIX DE LA PLACE DES VOSGES – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 53,000

1. I STILL LOVING YOU – Has 3 runs in him after nearly 3 years on sidelines, latterly last of 6 in a 2850m Feurs Class F on 2 September, and will first need to re-establish his credentials

2. IN RED – 10th of 14, on return from a spell, in a 2725m Pornichet Class F a month ago.  Has won 2 from 4 here, excels with Gabi Gelormini, and will take all the beating

3. IMPERATRICE VITELA – Has hardly put a foot out of place this year, most recently finishing 2nd only to a very good mare in a 2100m Vincennes Class B mid-September, and a similar performance would see her challenge for the win

4. INVICTUS DE HOERDT – Imposed at Mauquenchy before finishing last but one in a 2700m Vincennes Class D a month ago. Should not be too hastily-condemned though as she returns to a trip she likes and is clearly in form

5. IDEAL GREEN – 5th of 13, a place behind INVICTUS DE HOERDT (4), in a 2500m Reims Class E late-August and, with form maintained, can repeat

6. IGGYPOP D’HERFRAIE – 7th of 13 when being prepared for this in a 2750m Cabourg Class E 2 weeks ago. Shoes off this time, excels over these shorter distances and should not be entirely overlooked

7. IVANA DES RACQUES – 3rd to IMPERATRICE VITELA (3) in a Vincennes Class B before finishing 11th of 15 in a 2875m Class D here 10 days ago. Has previously won under these conditions and is well-placed to give this a good go. First 3

8. IMPARTIAL – Was on a productive run of form before being sanctioned in a 2800m Cholet Class F 3 weeks ago. Starts wide but form is not in question and can pick up a cheque if he stays trotting

9. IDYLLE DU PERSIL – Has done nothing but improve lately, most recently winning a 3000m Borély Class D on 21 September. Benjamin Rochard could have asked for a better draw but still looks competitively well-in

10. INSIGHT SPOKEN – Serious sort that ran 12th of 15 in a 3000m Nantes Class F, when preparing for this, 3 weeks ago. Still in conditioning mode and best to hold off

11. IPPON DE MONTCEAU – Wonderfully-consistent sort making Enghien debut after coming 2nd of 5 in a 2850m Hyères Class F mid-September. In better company this time but could nevertheless pleasantly surprise

12. IMIKO JIEL – Failed to confirm Graignes performance when 10th of 15 in a 2550m Reims Class F last Saturday, and can be confidently disregarded

13. IMHOTEP FROMENTRO – Has not been seen out since coming 3rd of 11 in a 2775m Lignieres Class E 2 months ago, and is not about to spring any surprises

Summary: Course-and-distance winner before being sent for a spell, IN RED (2) has one race under his belt, is shod as he was here last time, and can confirm. That being said, IMPERATRICE VITELA (3) has excelled this year and the nature of her recent run bodes well for her prospects. Oddly out of sorts at Vincennes last month, INVICTUS DE HOERDT (4) has nevertheless won three of his last six, goes barefoot with Pierre-Yves Verva in the bike, and can put things right. IVANA DES RACQUES (7) may not be to everybody’s liking, but will be dangerous if she can replicate her penultimate performance.

SELECTIONS
IN RED (2) – IMPERATRICE VITELA (3) – INVICTUS DE HOERDT (4) – IVANA DES RACQUES (7)
C4 – PRIX DE LA PLACE MAUBERT – 2875m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 35,000

1. KITA DU RIB – Tricky filly that lost her action in a 2400m Amiens Class F a fortnight ago. Hind shoes off for first time but other more dependable options available

2. KISS ME DU THENNEY – Showed the limits of her capacity when last of 11 in a 2750m Class E at La Capelle early last month and will struggle to make her mark

3. KERDYNA MATCH – Came 5th at Mauquenchy before being sanctioned in a 2400m Amiens Class E a month ago, and appears to be taking on too much

4. KLOE D’ARRY – 9th of 14 finishers, when preparing for this, in a 2700m Class E at Le Croisé-Laroche 2.5 weeks ago. Sports a new configuration and can play a part if she takes to Enghien profile

5. KETTINA DU CYGNE – 8th of 14 finishers, a place behind KANELLE CASTELETS (10), in a 2700m Class E at Le Croisé-Laroche 2.5 weeks ago. Shoes back on but others easier to back

6. KID LEA DRIVER – Makes first appearance since faulting in a 2950m Le Mans Class E late-July. Shoes on for re-entry but is still unlikely to be too far off the mark

7. KALEDA DE LA COUR – Put 3 clinkers behind her to comfortably win a 2625m Cherbourg Class E a fortnight ago. Only her own sex to contend with this time and should not be underestimated

8. KISMIE GRIFF – Made short work of a a 2750m Class E at La Capelle a fortnight ago. Leading driver in the bike this time and has every chance of repeating

9. KLAMA DE NAVARY – Sanctioned in last 2, latterly a 2700m Class E at Le Croisé-Laroche earlier this month. Franck Nivard drafted in for the occasion and looks a serious proposition

10. KANELLE CASTELETS – 3rd of 14 finishers in a 2700m Class E at Le Croisé-Laroche 2.5 weeks ago. Has turned a corner lately and should be good enough to oppose KISMIE GRIFF (8)

11. KORAYA DE KERLEAN – Sanctioned in a 2850m Laval Class E 2 weeks ago but otherwise finishes in thick of things when applied, and the engagement of Gabi Gelormini does her prospects no harm

12. KALAMITY DE CHENU – Very disappointing since returning from her layoff, most recently sanctioned 2 weeks ago in a 2850m Laval Class E. Just hind shoes off this time must first get her house in order

13. KANDIE D’ARDENNES – Unraced since coming 5th of 11, at 123/1, in a 2700m Class D at La Capelle late-August, and has very little chance of confirming

14. KUBITSA – Showed promise at 3 but off the boil in 2024, most recently finishing 11th of 14 in 2 October race of reference, and can be passed over

15. KILLARNEY – Ran 2nd at Mauquenchy before coming 6th to KANELLE CASTELETS (10) in race of reference. Unlikely to spring a surprise but can still pick up a small slice of the pie

16. KALICINE – 4th of 14 finishers, a place behind KANELLE CASTELETS (10), in a 2700m Class E at Le Croisé-Laroche 2.5 weeks ago. No doubt about her form, enjoys a good entry, and makes Enghien debut with decent first-5 prospects

Summary: KISMIE GRIFF (8) made up for her comeback sanction when running out a comfortable winner at La Capelle recently and, fitted with 4 pads for the first time, with Alexandre Abrivard reining, will be expected to double up. KANELLE CASTELETS (10), however, has been on a fine run of form and can play a leading role. Clearly capable but never far from faulting, the reconfigured KLAMA DE NAVARY (9) will be dangerous if Franck Nivard manages to keep her focused. KORAYA DE KERLEAN (11) is still rather complicated but, in present shape, is very easy to like.

C5 – PRIX DE LA COTE D’OR – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 40,000

1. LORD SMART – Reassuring 5th of 11 in a 2875m Class D here on 30 September, and can confirm if he deigns to stay in stride from one end of the race to the other

2. L’AMIRAL GAGNANT – Unraced since comfortably winning a 2150m Cagnes Class E on 22 July. Hind pads fitted for the occasion, with David Thomain reining, and should not be entirely overlooked

3. LYNX GRIFF – Modest 5th over course and distance before being sanctioned in a 2875m Class D here on 30 September. Is not devoid of ability though and can pick up a cheque if Romain Hue makes good on his draw

4. LORENZO GEDE – 7th of 10, behind LIVE TO TELL (6), in a 2700m Class D at Le Croisé-Laroche 2.5 weeks ago, on first start since the break. Will appreciate Enghien conditions but still has a lot to do

5. LICAR SOMOLLI – Has been knocking at the door, most recently 3rd of 8 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E a month ago. Enjoys a fine draw and can make a big splash if Mathias Dudouit takes advantage

6. LIVE TO TELL – Useful sort that would have finished closer than 5th of 10 in a 2700m Class D at Le Croisé-Laroche 2.5 weeks ago had he not faulted. Gets another crack at it, is nicely-placed in front, and can start to make amends

7. L’ESPOIR DES BAUX – Did not enjoy the best of trips when last of 9 in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class D on 7 August. Is confirmed racing shod but still represents no more than a minor place prospect

8. LED ZEP VET – Quality colt that ran 8th of 11, behind LORD SMART (1) in a 2875m Class D conditioner here on 30 September. Will have come on for the run and Eric Raffin will not be overly concerned by the draw. Place chance

9. LORD DU BASSIN – Starts for first time since getting off the mark in a 2800m Pontchateau Class D on 6 June. Alexandre in the wagon again, which most likely means business. Claim

10. LEBOSS D’HAVAROCHE – Handy element but has not been seen out since coming 2nd of 8 in a 2300m Chartres Class E on 2 June, and will need the run

11. LOVE ME HAUFOR – Unraced since finishing last of 11 in a 2850m Laval Class D on 5 June, and is not going to be over-taxed

12. LIVE MY DREAM – Lacklustre in last 2, most recently 7th of 9 in a 2850m Laval Class E mid-September and, in this category, appears to have limited chances

13. LOOKING D’AURCY – Sanctioned, on first start since winning at Vichy in June, in a 2875m Class D here last Monday. On back row and would be preferred a category down

14. LUTIN DE LA FYE – Like a horse reborn over recent months, latterly second of 13 in a 2700m Class E at La Capelle on 23 September. Handed a tough draw but with a leading driver in the bike, can play a prominent role at the reckoning

15. LIPTON DU NOYER – Ran 5th on comeback but finished only 11th of 12 in a 2875m Class D here last Monday, and is not about to shake things up

16. LE BOIS THIBAULT – Makes metropolitan debut after winning a 2675m Saint-Galmier claimer on 24 August. Front pads fitted but is in better company this time and the draw only compounds matters

Summary: Sent for a break after opening his account last June, LORD DU BASSIN (9) has not been seen out since, and starts on the back line, but it would be no surprise to see him get straight down to business. Better-positioned in front, LICAR SOMOLLI (5) has been showing his form and should appreciate Enghien conditions. Eric Raffin, who has been notching up wins all over the country, gets the nod on LED ZEP VET (8) who will be no easy touch if he takes to the shorter trip. The poorly-placed LUTIN DE LA FYE (14) has hardly put a foot wrong since the summer and the engagement of Benjamin Rochard can negate the draw.

1. LOREL DE L’ORMERIE – Showed promise in qualification but sanctioned in both public starts, latterly a 2200m Vincennes Class D 3 weeks ago, and needs to break the mould

2. LUMIO FALL – Qualified without fanfare at Caen in July before being sanctioned in a 2000m Class E at La Capelle 2 weeks ago, and is unlikely to garner much support

3. LATINO DU FRESNE – Debuts in the discipline after finishing last of 9 in a 2675m harness Class G at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 23 September, and is not about to influence the result

4. LEVIATHAN JIEL – Ran 5th of 9 finishers, on debut a fortnight ago, in a 2000m Class E at La Capelle. Takes on some more experienced horses but still looks an interesting first-5 chance

5. LEONARD DU CLOS – Useful type that endured a horrible run before being sanctioned in a 2200m Vincennes Class D 3 weeks ago. Will have a better chance here and is capable of challenging for a place on the podium

6. LUCAS DE TOURNAI – Runner-up to LIPTON NUEVO (10) in a 2750m Cabourg Class E a fortnight ago, on return to the discipline and, in similar shape, can finish in the mix

7. LABEL DE LARRE – Last of 11, on return to competition, in a harness Class D over course and distance late-September. Is in his category and should be in a position to give LUKAS D’OLIVERIE (8) something to think about

8. LUKAS D’OLIVERIE – Complicated colt making first appearance since faulting in a Class B over course and distance late-June. Has been given time to recalibrate and can make this his own if he keeps trotting

9. LYNX D’URZY – Back under the saddle after being sanctioned in a 2875m Meslay harness Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Front pads fitted but others still easier to trust

10. LIPTON NUEVO – Flew up in a 2750m Cabourg Class E a fortnight ago. Has no left-handed references but will have a lot to contribute if he takes to Enghien conditions

11. LIBERO DU DONJON – 2nd of 8 in a 2650m Cherbourg harness claimer, when preparing for this, on 6 October. Pads fitted this time and can get a look-in if he stays in stride

Summary: Brimming with talent but sanctioned more often than not, LUKAS D’OLIVERIE (8) will be partnered by Benjamin Rochard on his return to the game and, competitively-shod, can get back to winning ways. He will face opposition though from the reliable and progressive LABEL DE LARRE (7) who has a much-needed harness conditioner under his belt, and recent Cabourg winner, LIPTON NUEVO (10), who will have his chances if he turns. LEONARD DU CLOS (5) has yet to get off the mark but consistently gives his best and his recent sanction can be ignored.

C7 – PRIX DU MAINE – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class R Claiming – Harness – EUR € 18,000

1. LOUKOUM DE L’ITON – Tenacious runner-up to LARIFLETTE (4) in a claimer over 2875m here 9 days ago. Shoes on again and is not incapable of turning the tables

2. LAIKA DES MARES – Sanctioned in 4 of last 5, latterly a 2875m claimer here on 10 October, and others easier to trust

3. LINDSTEDT – Takes first steps in claiming division after running 8th of 10 in a 2100m Vincennes Class C a fortnight ago. Is confirmed at a more elevated level and should have the measure of the field

4. LARIFLETTE – Made it 2 on the trot when courageously winning a claimer over 2875m here 9 days ago. Won over a similar trip on penultimate start and can bring the game to LINDSTEDT (3)

5. LUMIERE MIKA – 3rd to LARIFLETTE (4) in last 2, most recently a 2875m claimer here on 10 October. May not be good enough to win this time but is ideally-placed to make first 3

6. LOVELY KOOL – Made a very good return to the track when 4th of 12 to LARIFLETTE (4) in a 2100m Vincennes claimer 2.5 weeks ago. Will have progressed for the run and the Eric Raffin-factor must be taken into account. Attention

7. LE PONT FOULT – Placed just once in 5 claimers, latterly sanctioned in 10 October race of reference. On front line, with just hind pads fitted, but others still preferred

8. L’ARC EN CIEL – Not as sharp as he was last winter, most recently last of 6 finishers to LARIFLETTE (4) in a 2875m claimer here on 10 October, and is unlikely to spring a surprise

9. LARGO DE JOUDES – Useful type taking first claiming steps after running 5th of 8 in a 2100m Class D across town 11 days ago. Handed an unattractive draw but with Alexandre Abrivard reining, should not disappoint

10. LORIE DE LA PRADE – Won over course and distance two months ago, but sanctioned in last 3, latterly 10 October race of reference. Has yet to deliver for Franck Ouvrie but can get a look-in if she stays trotting

11. LUCK AND JOY – Has references at this level but currently struggling, most recently sanctioned in a 2875m Parilly claimer 2 weeks ago, and must get her house in order

12. LOU D’ECHAL – Rejuvenated since switching category, latterly winning a 2750m Lisieux claimer last Sunday. Hind pads fitted but takes on a better lot this time and from back line will struggle to make much of an impact

13. LUTIN CLEA – Makes first appearance in claiming category after running 4th of 13 in a 2625m Cherbourg Class F a fortnight ago, but the draw will do him no favours

14. LOVE LETTERS FERM – Modest filly that finished 9th of 12 in a 2100m Vincennes claimer on 1 October and has no possible chance

15. LOYALE DAIRPET – Got back in the game when third of 8 finishers in a 2650m claimer at Cherbourg on 6 October. Is proven here but in better company this time and not an obvious choice

16. LANKA – Showed improvement when 4th of 6 in 10 October race of reference. Cannot be considered a priority however

Summary: LINDSTEDT (3) takes big dip in category after some unexceptional efforts in superior company, but is better than most here and from the 3-spot can make this his own. Benjamin Rochard will still be keeping a keen eye on the well-positioned LARIFLETTE (4) who returns to Enghien on a hat-trick, and her recent runner-up, LOUKOUM DE L’ITON (1), who put in quite the performance that day. 3rd on that occasion, LUMIERE MIKA (5) has turned a corner since starting to race with pads fitted and will be no pushover.

C8 – PRIX DU CHAMP DE MARS – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 38,000

1. MAESTRO CELO – Runner-up in both starts to date, most recently a 2050m Cabourg Class D earlier this month, and is unlikely to disappoint. Place chance

2. MAESTRO RIVER – Qualified in 1’16″0 before winning comfortably winning a 2050m Cordemais Class F 2 weeks ago. Should have no issues with the new conditions and can make it 2 on the trot

3. MANHATTAN JIEL – Left a good impression when 4th of 9 in a Class C over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Is learning his trade well and from the 3-spot will be competitive at the business end of affairs

4. MIDORIYA DU BOURG – 2nd of 7 first time out, in a 2100m Parilly Class E 2 weeks ago. Handed a good draw and does not make the long trip only to return home empty-handed

5. MISTER FOURCADE – Debuted nicely over course and distance but form deteriorating, latterly last of 8 in a 2200m Vincennes Class C a month ago. Will appreciate a return to Enghien though and can start to put things right

6. MAESTRO – Respectable 5th of 12, behind MAESTRO CELO (1), in a 2050m Cabourg Class D earlier this month but still has a lot more to find

7. MENINO – 3rd of 9, on debut, in a 2000m Class F at La Capelle on 6 October. Entrusted to Pierre-Yves Verva this time and the front-line start will only work in his favour. First 5

8. MEMPHIS ELLIS – Sanctioned in a 2000m Class F at La Capelle 2 weeks ago, first time out, but showed considerable promise in qualification and despite the wide draw, can play a leading role

9. MAXOU AMAX – 6th of 9, behind MENINO (7), in a 2000m Class F at La Capelle on 6 October. Has yet to show any particular aptitude for the game and can be passed over

10. MILKA LIO – Sanctioned, at 81/1, in a 2050m Laval Class F late last month and even with Benjamin Rochard reining, will have limited prospects

11. MAD MAX BOND – Came 5th of 9, behind MENINO (7), in a 2000m Class F at La Capelle on 6 October. Will have come on for the run and, with Gabi Gelormini in the bike, will be afforded every chance

Summary: Winner at the first time of asking, a fortnight ago, MAESTRO RIVER (2) has earned the right to race here and, with Eric Raffin back in the bike, can double his money. MEMPHIS ELLIS (8) qualified in 1’17″3 before faulting on debut at La Capelle, but should take well to the Enghien profile and can set the record straight. MANHATTAN JIEL (3) has done everything right so far and should figure more prominently this time around. MAESTRO CELO (1) showed good progress last time out and will be no soft touch if Sébastien Baude positions him early.
