R1 VINCENNES [L-H]
C1 – PRIX GAI BRILLANT – ETRIER 3 ANS Q3 – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Gr2 – Mounted – EUR € 120,000
- NAUTILIO BELLO – Useful colt but is still somewhat green. Front shoes on this time but still an outside chance at best
- NECTAR DE LA FYE – 10 starts and yet to get off the mark. Fitted with 4 pads for first time but others still preferred
- NORGUSSON ATALANTE – Last of 6 in race of reference before finishing last but one in a Class C late last month, and will have nothing to contribute
- NELATI DE MORGANE – Unremarkable 5th of 6 finishers in Gr.2 Prix Félicien Gauvreau and once again has no possible chance
- NITRO DAIRPET – Quality colt that has shown significant harness aptitude. Is unraced since December but is competitively-shod and, if ability transitions, should be able to give this a good go
- NEW SUCCESS – Distant 4th to NINJA DE L’ENVOL (8) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Félicien Gauvreau here 3 weeks ago. Has been fitted with 4 pads this time and, in this small field, can make first 5
- NEWTON DES ANDIERS – Made quite the impression when close 3rd in 20 March race of reference. Sports pads for the first time and could even impose
- NINJA DE L’ENVOL – Has taken superbly to his new vocation, most recently clinching 2700m Gr.2 Prix Félicien Gauvreau here 3 weeks ago, and it would be no surprise to see him double his money
- NICKEL DE BAILLE – Serious future prospect that was just beaten by NINJA DE L’ENVOL (8) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Félicien Gauvreau here 3 weeks ago and Mathieu Mottier will be out to exact his pound of flesh
Summary: Winner of 3 in a row before being headed by NINJA DE L’ENVOL (8) in the Gr.2 Prix Félicien Gauvreau here 3 weeks ago, NICKEL DE BAILLE (9) will appreciate the drop in distance and Mathieu Mottier will be legitimately bullish about turning the tables. NEWTON DES ANDIERS (7) put in quite the showing that day to come a fast-finishing 3rd and, fitted with front pads this time, looks a more interesting proposition. NITRO DAIRPET (5) has not been seen out since December but he sports pads for his monte debut and Adrien Lamy will be keen to prove a point.

C2 – PRIX DE WISSEMBOURG – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 41,000 - LEOLIO – Unremarkable sort that finished last but one in a Class F at Le Croise-Laroche on 23 March, and is not about to change his ways
- LOVELY TRIP – Modest gelding that has not made the frame since December 2023 and can be confidently disregarded
- LEADER DE VENEL – 2nd in a Class E over course and distance before running 3rd in a Lyon-Parilly Class F 11 days ago. Is pitted against superior horses this time and unlikely to generate much interest
- LE CONCORDE – Has gone from strength to strength this year, latterly winning a Cordemais Class E in fine fashion. Is new to Vincennes but has demonstrated versatility and is easy to recommend for a place on the podium
- LEADER ATOUT – Made up 9 days ago for time lost last season when tenaciously winning a Mauquenchy Class F. Is not the easiest to use but will be dangerous if Benjamin Rochard keeps him focused
- LUCKY LUCIANO – Twice a winner this year and has been climbing the category-ladder in good order. Quickly eliminated at Graignes last month but, with his mind on the game, can make amends and finish in the mix
- LUTHIER DE PAIL – Has been very disappointing since returning to competition last December. Will be barefoot though, and reunited with Paul Ploquin who has never failed to deliver with him, and should not be overlooked
- LE MAGNIFIQUE – Highly-impressive on debut for new handler just over 3 weeks ago. Faces a stiffer test this time but has earned the right to race here and even looks good enough to impose
- LUMINEUX – Has been struggling to make his mark for some time, and recent results do little to inspire confidence
- LUCKY CASTELETS – Has started to come good since moving yards, most recently 3rd in a Nancy Class E 2 weeks ago. Has been entrusted to Eric Raffin this time and is unlikely to be far off the mark
- LARABIEN – Got back in the game 2.5 weeks ago when 3rd in an Enghien Class E. Has placed in 1 of 2 starts here and has a decent chance of making first 5
- LUCHADOR – Moderate element that always gives his best but has a lot of ground to make up and is not an obvious choice
Summary: Formidable at Reims last month on his first start for the Mathieu Mottier stable, LE MAGNIFIQUE (8) returns to the capital with every chance of opening his Vincennes account. He can nevertheless expect to meet resistance from the complicated but able LEADER ATOUT (5) who returned to winning ways earlier in the month, and LE CONCORDE (4) who has been a veritable model of consistency. Difficult to knock when focused, LUCKY LUCIANO (6) will be no pushover if Franck Nivard gets him off on the right foot.

C3 – PRIX HEMINE – ETRIER 3 ANS Q4 – 2175m (a1m1/4) – – Mounted – EUR € 120,000 - NYLLA DU GOUTIER – Should not be too hastily-condemned for recent elimination, but still seems to be taking on too much
- NATURE DU CHENE – Has not been tested at this level but has shown a liking for the code and is not incapable of getting a look in
- NAGINATA – Not the easiest of horses to use but has buckets of ability. Eliminated in race of reference but, on good behaviour, will be no soft touch
- NEBULEUSE FLIGNY – Looked rather ordinary when coming last of 6 finishers in Gr.2 Prix Ali Hawas and can expect to have few takers
- NATURE DU GOUTIER – Always gives her best but finished unthreatening 5th of 6 finishers in race of reference and is unlikely to spice things up
- NASSANDRA – Unbeaten in 4 starts to date, all under the saddle. Has been reconfigured for her monte debut and will have her chances if form transitions
- NEO VANILLA – Has demonstrated fine aptitude for the new discipline. Ran 3rd in Gr.2 Prix Ali Hawas, and has ground to make up, but sports pads for the occasion, Alexandre Abrivard gets the nod this time, and is unlikely to go home empty-handed
- NORMA JEANE – Takes first competitive monte steps after coming 2nd in a 2700m harness Gr.3 here 3 weeks ago. Has been re-shod and Pierre-Yves Verva knows her well. One to watch
- NIKITA DES CHARMES – Would have finished close 3rd to NIZZA ROCCA (10) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Ali Hawas here 3 weeks ago had she not lost her action late. Will be competitively-shod for the first time though and is easy to fancy for the win
- NIZZA ROCCA – Unlucky in Gr.3 Prix Holly du Locton before clinching the Gr.2 Prix Ali Hawas here 3 weeks ago. The double is not out of the question but she may have to settle for a place cheque on this occasion
- NAYARA – Has taken superbly to her new vocation, most recently missing out by little to NIZZA ROCCA (10) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Ali Hawas. Is also Gr.2-placed under harness and has the potential to play a leading role
Summary: Winner of 4 in a row before losing her action in the final stages of the Gr.2 Prix Ali Hawas last month, NIKITA DES CHARMES (9) nevertheless showed her form. The new distance should suit her, and she will sport front pads for the first time. The tricky but talented NAGINATA (3) was also eliminated that day after enduring a tough trip and Benjamin Rochard will be mindful of setting the record straight. NIZZA ROCCA (10) won the race at 21-1 and should again figure prominently, as should close runner-up NAYARA (11).

C4 – PRIX HENRI LEVESQUE – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 – Harness – EUR € 120,000 - LA FORMIDABLE – Good, consistent Swiss-trained mare but has nothing to contribute at this level and can be confidently passed over
- LETTRE D’AMOUR – Sprang a 77-1 surprise when 2nd in a 2150m Enghien Class C a month back, but confirmation is unlikely
- LITTLE STAR FLEURY – Has failed to make it onto the podium since January 2025. Will be first-time barefoot but still not a priority
- LOUISA D’ATOUT – Will be shod to preference following her Laval prep, however in this company will struggle to make her mark
- LAROZE DU GERS – Has never been tested in this category but she posted 1’09”9 here in November and will have her chances if she runs to that mark again
- LILI DRY – Enjoyed a decent winter but form has regressed this term and will have few friends
- LILY DE L’AUNAY – Produced a good effort to win a 2850m Lyon-Parilly Class D late last month. A repeat seems improbable but should nevertheless hold her own
- LAUREATE DRY – Previously a decent sort but has not been the sharpest of late and is unlikely to create an upset
- LALUNA DES FORGES – Won first 2 runs of the season before being conditioned here 3 weeks ago. Is barefoot as she likes and, back over 2700m, will be no easy touch
- LUMINOSITY – Moves back up in category after coming 5th in a 2850m Class B here on 21 March. Placed twice at this level last summer and cannot be ruled out
- LA STAR ROC – Useful at a lower level, has never delivered in this class of contest, and is not about to start now
- LOUVE DE REVE D’OR – Can prove a handful and has not been seen out since 21 December, but has form over track and trip and, barefoot this time, can finish in the mix
- LUNELLA LEMAN – Won a Gr.3 over course and distance on 18 January, then ran 3rd in a Class A a fortnight later. Has not raced since but clearly means business and is unlikely to let the side down
- LIBERTE DE CHOISEL – Courageous winner of Gr.1 Prix Bold Eagle on 24 January before being headed in Gr.2 Prix Ovide Moulinet a fortnight later. Has not been seen out since but is patently in race-mode and can give LIZA JOSSELYN (15) a run for her money
- LIZA JOSSELYN – Standard-bearer of her generation for 2 seasons. Has yet to win a race this year, but has been re-shod and, with JMB in the bike, can wrap this up
Summary: Winner of the Gr.1 Critérium Continental last December, LIZA JOSSELYN (15) failed to win any of her next 3 starts. With Jean-Michel Bazire back in the bike, and a revised configuration, her chances increase and she should be good enough to turn the tables on LIBERTE DE CHOISEL (14) who beat her in the Gr.1 Prix Bold Eagle. Complicated but versatile, and clearly in shape, LAROZE DU GERS (5) possesses considerable speed, will be barefoot this time, and steps up in category with a good hand to play. Back in competition after having been rested following a fine winter meeting, LUNELLA LEMAN (13) is easy to recommend. Winner of 3 of 4 prior to prepping for this 3 weeks ago, LALUNA DES FORGES (9) seldom disappoints when barefoot and is not about to start now.

C5 – PRIX DE FAULQUEMONT – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 46,000 - MY DREAM DU GRAIS – Has won twice already this term, latterly an Enghien Class E with ease on 17 March. Is unbeaten when barefoot but will have met his match this time
- MAGIC JOHN – Won 2 in a row over course and distance this year before coming 5th, a place behind MON PLAISIR (5), in a Class D under similar conditions 8 days ago. At this level though, may find the going a bit tough
- MY LOVE ALWAYS – Opened his 2026 account at first time of asking, clinching a Vire Class D 3.5 weeks ago. Takes on a better lot this time, however, and chances seem limited
- MARATHON MAN – Well-regarded colt making his comeback after a lengthy period on the sidelines and best to keep one’s powder dry
- MON PLAISIR – Hardy colt that has yet to impose this year but has been enjoying a decent run of form and a place cheque is well within his reach
- MARS COBBA – Starts for the first time since running 6th in a 2850m Gr.3 here on 30 November. Has ample ability though, goes barefoot for the first time, and is worth keeping an eye on
- MALIUM – Won 2 of last 3, latterly a 2700m Class D with authority 2 weeks ago. Has a bright future ahead of him and, on good behaviour, can give MILAN DU BOSQUET (13) something to think about
- MAMBO PLANCHETTE – Honest element with decent Vincennes references. Was unlucky last time out but ran 2nd all the same, comes here fresh, and looks a decent first-5 prospect
- MAMBO DU TAILLIS – Serious trotter making first start since late-November. Is first-time barefoot though and cannot be discounted
- MELCHIOR JAMES – Returns to a more reasonable category after finishing last but one in a 2850m Class B here on 25 February. Is not about to cause an upset but sports a fresh configuration and will have his supporters
- MARQUIS DU CHENE – In the frame in 2 of 3 this year, most recently close 2nd to MILAN DU BOSQUET (13) in a Class B over track and trip on 20 February. Is less-competitive with pads fitted but can still get in on the action
- MUSCDARCHE – Showed great courage on Caen re-entry on 2 March. Has had time to freshen up since, and is reunited with Theo Briand who is unbeaten in 2 starts with him
- MILAN DU BOSQUET – Won a Class D over course and distance with ease in February. Won a Class B next time despite the long odds, and should be able to secure the 3-timer
- MISTER CHARLY – Capable type but has yet to stamp his mark at Vincennes. In a more realistic category this time, and will be competitively-shod, but still needs to find more
Summary: MILAN DU BOSQUET (13) has been enjoying something of a renaissance since beginning to race barefoot. He made it 2 in a row here in February, and will be reunited with Eric Raffin who will be determined to complete the hat-trick. MALIUM (7) has also won twice over course and distance this year and, on good behaviour, can pull off a third. Sent for a rest after winning 3 of 4 last term, MUSCDARCHE (12) gave a fine account on comeback at Caen early last month, will have come on for the race, and should not be far off the mark. MON PLAISIR (5) has yet to impose over the main track but he has been acquitting himself competitively and is not incapable of trotting his way onto the podium.

C6 – PRIX ROBERT AUVRAY – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 – Harness – EUR € 120,000 - LOCHAN – Unexceptional type with better references in the other code and can be confidently ruled out
- LOUIS VITTON MIJO – Complicated sort that ran 4th to L’AS DESBOIS (9) in Gr.2 Prix Ovide Moulinet over track and trip on 8 February. Lost his action next time but on better behaviour can begin to redeem himself
- LYRIKO BELLO – Has been rather disappointing so far this year. Is confirmed at Vincennes but current form does little to convince
- LIZZANO D’ALOUETTE – Finished last of 10 on re-entry at Caen a month back. Is competitively-shod this time, but in this company appears to be taking on too much
- LORD DU BASSIN – Quality trotter that prepped for this at Caen early last month. Shod to preference this time, has nothing to prove under these conditions, and can contest a place in the frame
- LOULOU DE MYE – Is not as sharp as he was at 3. Hind shoes off for comeback but still not a concern
- LEARN TO FLY – Has merit but has been off his porridge over recent months. Will be shod to preference this time, however, and could yet get a look in
- LANCIER DU GOUTIER – Classy trotter with terrific course-and-distance credentials. Has had a month to get back to his best and is eminently capable of wrapping this up
- L’AS DESBOIS – Has done almost everything asked of him over recent months. Will be shod as he was at Laval in November, and thrives with Matthieu Abrivard. Chance
- LOMBOK JIEL – Has always been one of the best of his generation. Has had ample time to recalibrate after failing to deliver in February and, given his liking for 2700m here, should be able to contest the finish
Summary: Given a break after winning the Gr.1 Critérium des 4 Ans last September, LANCIER DU GOUTIER (8) will be shod to preference following his March comeback run and is in with a realistic shout of winning this. Theo Duvaldestin will still be mindful of LOMBOK JIEL (10) who has been reconfigured following his Prix Ovide Moulinet blip. Winner that day before running 2nd in the Gr.1 Prix de Selection, L’AS DESBOIS (9) reverts to a successful formula and is not about to disappoint. Easy winner last time here, LORD DU BASSIN (5) is competitively-shod and must be taken seriously.

C7 – PRIX DE LA LORRAINE – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class B – Harness – EUR € 75,000 - GORDON MIJACK – Has picked up in 2026 where he left off last season and even though reconfigured, still has no possible chance
- INDY DARK – Quality campaigner with nothing to prove at this level. Seldom seen over 2100m but has a race under his belt, goes barefoot with a top pilot at the helm, and from the 2 slot should logically finish in the mix
- IMPLORA MAUZUN – Starts for first time since 6 February when 3rd in a 2700m Class B here. Is consistently competitive when focused and is sufficiently well-positioned to give this a good go
- FURIOSO FLIGNY – Serious veteran going barefoot following his re-entry run here in late-February. Could not have asked for a better engagement and Esteban De Jesus will be eager to make hay
- IBIZA BELLA – 2nd to HOCHE (13) in a Class B over course and distance on 11 January. Was sent for a spell after a very unlucky Gr.3 Prix Helen Johansson run, races fresh from the 5 slot, but others still easier to back
- GIMS DU PLESSIS – Mercurial at the best of times but is not without merit. Races barefoot for his first appearance since December, has already won 5 with Eric Raffin, and the draw will do his prospects no disservice
- GOLD MENCOURT – Useful trotter and is confirmed in a similar category, but is still in preparation-mode and best to wait
- HABIT DE SOIREE – Always gives his best and is confirmed at this level. Races barefoot this time but current numbers do little to inspire confidence
- HAMILTON DU HAM – Not the easiest of horses to handle but is not devoid of ability. Will be shod as he was when unlucky here on 24 January and, even though forced to break wide, still looks a player
- HIMBERLAND – Produced some solid performances last season but has been off the boil in 2026 and will need to get his house in order
- GILMOUR – Clearly no longer the horse he once was. Shoes off for comeback but still appears to have nothing going for him
- HELLO PANAME – Capable individual but has been out of competition since last November. Sports pads for re-entry and can be passed over
- HOCHE – Won a Class B under these conditions in January but was eliminated early the following month. Will be barefoot this time and with some luck in running can play a part
- NINEPOINTS LASSE – Ran 3rd over course and distance before faulting early in a 2700m Class C a fortnight back. Form is not in question though and could make a big impact this time, provided that Alexandre Abrivard gets him off on the right foot
- CHITCHAT – Won 5 of his last 8 starts, most recently 3rd in a Class B over 2700m here on 21 March. Must make do with the tough draw but in current condition will not be easy to beat
- IACYNTHE DIDJEAP – No slouch on a good day but has not raced since early-December and the draw only compounds matters
Summary: Winner of 4 on the trot over recent months, CHITCHAT (15) was not far off adding another to his tally here 3 weeks ago, and despite the draw still has every chance of returning to victorious ways. NINEPOINTS LASSE (14) has not pulled a great number either but he is plainly in good shape and looks the principal danger. IMPLORA MAUZUN (3), on the other hand, is nicely-placed behind the car and even though unseen since early-February, she goes well when fresh and can again contest a place on the podium. Starting upside, FURIOSO FLIGNY (4) is barefoot for his first objective of the season and is unlikely to disappoint. The same goes for INDY DARK (2) who has been entrusted to Mathieu Mottier for the first time.
SELECTIONS
CHITCHAT (15) – NINEPOINTS LASSE (14) – IMPLORA MAUZUN (3) – FURIOSO FLIGNY (4)
C8 – PRIX DE CHATEAU-GAILLARD – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 68,000 - COMPETIVO – Quality nordic raider that has taken well to French conditions. Excellent in last 4 starts, including securing victory over the main track, and returns to the harness code with a good hand to play
- HAUTE COTE DE NUIT – Fine servant but has just the one race in her following her lengthy absence and is quite clearly still being conditioned
- KELLE BEAUTE – Already Gr.3-placed this year and appears to still be on the boil. May not impose this time but should at least be competitive for a place in the picture
- HONEY KING – Has been disappointing on the whole over recent months and the new formula is unlikely to make any difference
- INHERIT – Undeniably capable and has a race under his belt following the spell. Sports a new configuration for the occasion and could yet make first 5
- IT’S MY DREAM – Serious trotter but is here for reasons of conditioning in anticipation of his next appearance under the saddle
- KHAL’S FELLA – Was aimed too high in both codes over the winter. Eliminated on last month’s comeback and with shoes fitted is unlikely to spring any surprises
- JE TE CHERCHE – Terrific trotter that ran out a commanding winner of a GNT Gr.3 in Marseille 2.5 weeks ago, and will be justifiably well-backed to repeat
- DESIDERIO D’ESI – Serious transalpine element with form at the venue. Made a fine comeback in February, has had time to progress, and looks the main challenger to JE TE CHERCHE (8)
- IRON DU GERS – Took a couple of runs to come good this year but reassured in a 2100m Class C here 3 weeks ago and, with JMB back in the bike, will garner support. Place chance
Summary: Extraordinarily dynamic when barefoot, JE TE CHERCHE (8) ran rings around the opposition in a Marseille-Borely Gr.3 recently and should again take all the beating. Good Italian import DESIDERIO D’ESI (9) is now in the care of Thierry Duvaldestin, and in the hands of Mathieu Mottier will be afforded every chance. Similarly well-engaged, IRON DU GERS (10) went close over 2100m here last time and with JMB back in the bike will be expected to finish close. Best of the 2 mares here, KELLE BEAUTE (3) has been knocking at the door this term and it will not be long before she gets her nose back in front.

C9 – PRIX DE CHELLES – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Class B – Harness – EUR € 52,000 - NOVATO BELLO – Serious colt that ran 2nd to NEO DE JOUDES (13), on re-entry at Enghien on 6 March. Will have progressed for the race and will again bet competitive when it matters
- NAKALOUN – Tenacious winner of a 2100m Class D here on 11 February, but failed to confirm 11 days later, and in this category appears to be out of his depth
- NELSON SWIFT – Has yet to get his nose in front but ran 3rd in a 2200m Class B here on 25 February. Has shown a liking for the Vincennes main track but is being aimed too high this time
- NECKLACE – Capable on a good day but will need to show marked improvement on his 6th place in 8 February race of reference
- NATURALE MAG – Won a Class D over course and distance last November, but has done nothing noteworthy in 6 subsequent outings, and can be ignored
- NONONINO – Showed considerable potential last season. Has not raced since November but will be sporting pads for the first time, over a trip he should appreciate, and ought to be taken seriously
- NON STOP MESLOIS – Lost his maiden status on 20 February when easily winning a 2100m claimer here. Esteban De Jesus in the bike this time but is still very much an outsider
- NIKY ELDE – Respectable colt starting for first time since 18 January. Is confirmed at the venue but looks a minor place chance at best
- NOBEL DU LEARD – Handy sort that was sent for a spell after a lacklustre effort behind NELSON SWIFT (3) in a 2700m Class A here on 8 February. Gabriele Gelormini in the bike this time but still not a priority
- NINO DU CHOQUEL – Makes Vincennes debut after lifting both starts this year. Put in quite the performance at Nantes and should appreciate this shorter trip, and a similar effort would see him keep his 2026 record intact
- NICKNAME – Has not been seen out since running away with a 2850m Class C over the short-course on 11 December. Is not coming here unprepared and must be respected
- NEMROD BUROIS – Got off the mark here on 19 February but failed to confirm when last of 7 in Gr.3 Penthesilea 2 weeks ago. Is back to racing with 4 pads and must be considered a player
- NEO DE JOUDES – Winner of all 3 starts to date, latterly courageous winner of a 2150m Enghien Class D in early-March, and will be no soft touch
Summary: Most impressive this year with 2 straight victories, NINO DU CHOQUEL (10) made short work of an Enghien Class D last month and is easy to like for the hat-trick. Francois Lagadeuc will still want to be wary of the undefeated NEO DE JOUDES (13) who enjoys a good entry here, and NOVATO BELLO (1) who ran 2nd to Anthony Barrier’s colt that day. NICKNAME (11) takes his first competitive steps over the main track and even though unraced for 4 months, Mathieu Mottier can be forgiven for feeling confident.

Summary: BELISA BAY (3) made a pleasing debut at Lyon-Parilly and, now supplemented, sets the standard for this race with further improvement expected. LAUGH IS ENOUGH (6) represents an in-form yard and is one to watch on debut. APPEN (4) shaped well when fourth first time out and should progress, while VALENTINA BELLA (7), from a strong pedigree, is also considered a possible winner as she does look ready for this.

- GLOW UP – Successful on her debut in a Conditions race at Toulouse over 1600m on 1 March. Capable of doubling up over this shorter distance
Summary: HOMERE (3) impressed when winning on debut at Chantilly and looks capable of following up with further improvement likely. He is is trying the turf this time around. He also faces a tougher task against the unbeaten GLOW UP (7), who is well treated at the weights and commands respect. EQUULEUS (2) improved to score over 1300m and can progress again, while VIZIOSA (5) is not without a chance in an open contest.
