French Selection Wednesday 9th

R1 ENGHIEN [L-H]
C1 – PRIX DES GOBELINS – 2875m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 59,000

1. HARPIE DE JED – Surprising 7th of 16 in a 2150m Class E here late last month. Eric Raffin takes over the reins but may still be biting off more than she can chew

2. GIRLY VICTORY – Made up for her Vincennes sanction when 2nd of 13 in a 2850m Lyon-Parilly Class E 2.5 weeks ago. In this company though, has limited prospects

3. FEE D’AMARO – Below-par recently, latterly 10th of 17, behind HEROINE DE GUERRE (6), in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F 10 days ago, and has no possible chance

4. HANIKA DU LUPIN – Unraced since being sanctioned in a 2725m Pornichet Class F in early-July. Has more than once shown her capacity at this level, reverts to a confirmed configuration and, with Matthieu Abrivard reining, will be afforded every chance

5. HAPPY MARANCOURT – Impressive winner of a 2550m Reims Class G 3.5 weeks ago. Has a lot going her way here and can make her Enghien debut a winning one

6. HEROINE DE GUERRE – Went into her spell on a high note and returned 10 days ago with 2nd of 17 in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F. Starts in front and even though more reliable racing clockwise, should nevertheless figure prominently

7. GALANTE DE TILLARD – Back on right road after a reassuring 3rd of 11 in a 2650m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne early last month. Pleased on lone start at the venue and, with form maintained, can get in on the action

8. GRAHIKA – 11th of 13, when preparing for this, in a 2200m Caen Class D 3 weeks ago. Barefoot this time, ideally-engaged at limit of earnings, and looks a player on Enghien debut

9. FELINE DE MIRANDA – Left a good impression when 5th of 13 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D 12 days ago. Hind shoes on, Gabi Gelormini in the bike this time, but the extra 25m will do her chances no favours

10. FOR LOVING YOU – Encouraged at Le Mans before finishing 9th of 12, behind FEE DU VERNAY (14), in a 2750m Class D at La Capelle on 23 September, and is not about to cause an upset

11. HISTOIRE MODERNE – Would have finished 4th in a 2850m Vincennes Class C 2.5 weeks ago had she not lost her action. Alexandre takes over from cousin Matthieu, and will be dangerous if he keeps her trotting

12. HAITIAN FIGHT SONG – Pleased at Pornichet before clinching a 2850m Laval Class D late-August. Boasts a good Enghien record, comes here fresh, and will be expected to contest the finish

13. GIANINA BELLA – Easy 2nd of 14 in a 2850m Laval Class D late last month. Has never delivered at Enghien but in current form, is very hard to ignore

14. FEE DU VERNAY – Pleasant 6th of 12 in a 2750m Class D at La Capelle on 23 September. Is confirmed at the venue, receives a David Thomain drive for the occasion, and will generate some interest

15. GAULTHERIA – Disappointing 9th of 12 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D on 13 September. Is proven at Enghien but would still be preferred a level down

Summary: Unopposed winner at Reims mid-September, on his just her second start for Mathieu Mottier, HAPPY MARANCOURT (5) finds herself well-engaged here, barefoot, and with her trainer reining, can make it 2 on the trot. She will nevertheless face resistance from second-line starters, HAITIAN FIGHT SONG (12), who imposed in good order last time out, and GIANINA BELLA (13) who gave a reassuringly good account at Laval a fortnight ago. HISTOIRE MODERNE (11) showed her form at Vincennes last time, despite faulting, and Alexandre Abrivard will be keen to put things right.

SELECTIONS
HAPPY MARANCOURT (5) – HAITIAN FIGHT SONG (12) – GIANINA BELLA (13) – HISTOIRE MODERNE (11)
C2 – PRIX DU PONT ROYAL – 2250m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Mounted – EUR € 35,000

1. LITTLE GANGSTER – Modest colt that was never threatening before being sanctioned in a 2450m Caen Class E 3 weeks ago. 4 pads fitted but is still not about to shake things up

2. LUZZY DE VIVE – Switches code for first time after running last of 8 in a 2900m Arras Class G 2.5 weeks ago, and already looks outclassed

3. LIEUTENANT COLONEL – Sanctioned, on monté debut last Sunday, in a 2000m Class E at La Capelle, and has no chance here

4. LIZARO DU SOLNAN – Newcomer to the code after finishing last of 11 in a 2000m Rambouillet Class F mid-September. Leading jockey onboard for the occasion but still not an obvious choice

5. LUMUMBA CAPELLO – Sanctioned, when unsupported, in a 2200m Vincennes Class D late last month. Has yet to show any particular aptitude for the game and, shod or not, can be ruled out

6. LOMIL D’ECROVILLE – Debuts in the discipline after being sanctioned in a 2000m Rambouillet Class F mid-September. Benjamin Rochard engaged for the occasion but others still preferred

7. LYNX DU LUPIN – Debuted nicely in a 2850m Laval Class F 2 weeks ago, defying his moderate qualification. Will have come on for the run and will not be sent out at 61/1 this time around

8. LASCAR DE BRION – 2nd on monté debut at Feurs before being sanctioned early in a 2200m Vichy Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Fitted with 4 pads this time and with application, can get back in the game

9. LE BEST MADRIK – First time in the code after finishing 6th of 10, behind L’ARTISTE ZEN (10), in a 2775m harness Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 20 September. Takes on a good bunch here and chances appear limited

10. L’ARTISTE ZEN – Takes first competitive monté steps after running 3rd of 10 in a 2775m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 20 September. Is made for this code and will be no pushover if he stays in stride

11. LOLO DU VELO – Late developer that took no time getting off the mark. Faulted in a 2850m Laval Class F a fortnight ago but, with his mind on the game, can win this

12. LEOPOLD DU CLOS – Has 2 races under his belt following the summer spell, latterly 8th of 11 finishers in a 2850m Laval Class E on 6 September and, with Victor Saussaye in the irons, should not be too far off the mark

13. LAWMAN – First time under the saddle after running 6th of 12 in a 2150m harness Class E here 11 days ago. Has shown enough under harness to be considered a player

14. LEGATO – Sanctioned in last 3, most recently a 2750m Cabourg Class E last Saturday and, even with front pads fitted, backs up with little to offer

15. L’ONCLE SAM – 2nd only to a very good horse in a 2450m Caen Class E 3 weeks ago, first time under the saddle, and in similar shape can go close

16. LORD CATH – Has not been seen out since being sanctioned in a 2450m Caen Class D late-May. Has evident ability, has had time to get his house in order, and even racing shod, will be one to fear if he gets off on the right foot

Summary: Emphatic winner first time out, LOLO DU VELO (11) fell foul of the stride police next time, but Anthony Barrier will be keen to set the record straight. He will nevertheless want to be wary of L’ONCLE SAM (15) whose monté bow was particularly encouraging, and similar newcomer LAWMAN (13) who is shod for the occasion with Alexis Collette in the saddle. L’ARTISTE ZEN (10) debuts in the discipline after giving a reassuring performance under harness and must be taken seriously.

SELECTIONS
LOLO DU VELO (11) – L’ONCLE SAM (15) – LAWMAN (13) – L’ARTISTE ZEN (10)
C3 – PRIX LORD WILLIAMS – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 40,000

1. LADY DU FOREZ – Tricky filly that returned to winning ways late last month, comfortably securing a 2300m Borély Class F, but is being aimed too high this time

2. LIMA MARY – In the frame in all 3 starts this year, latterly 3rd of 12 in a Class E over course and distance mid-July. Has not raced since but will nevertheless be expected to get straight back in the game

3. LETTRE D’AMOUR – In the frame in 3 of last 4, most recently 2nd of 9 finishers in a 2525m Class D at Les Andelys mid-September. Takes on a bigger challenge here but has been entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard for first time and will be no easy touch

4. LADY DU VALLON – Won twice on turf before coming 4th of 6 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on 20 September. Enjoys a good draw and must be considered a serious player

5. LILY BAM – Made it 2 in a row when victorious in a 2800m Bernay Class E late-August. Takes on a tougher lot this time but has been handed a good draw and Antoine de Vaugiraud will be keen to capitalise

6. LEA D’ATOUT – Quality element that ran 4th of 9 in a 2850m Laval Class E, on comeback, mid-September. Will have progressed and is sufficiently well-placed in front to make a big splash

7. LUXELLA – Makes first appearance since coming 4th of 7 in a 2850m Vincennes monté Class C 4 months ago. Has other priorities and can be ignored

8. LOLITA DE LANDEMER – Last but one, a place behind LADY DU VALLON (4), in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on 20 September. Forced to break wide and, even with 4 pads fitted, appears to have little to contribute

9. LADY MAGALOU – 2 runs, 2 wins, latterly a 2700m Graignes Class F early-August. Has had time to freshen up and, even though in better company this time, can still play a dominant role

10. LOUISIANA DU DERBY – Failed to confirm her Pornichet performance when 8th of 11 in a 2875m Class D at Meslay-du-Maine last week, and can be ruled out

11. LILY POM MIX – Knocking at the door recently, latterly 2nd of 13 in a 2450m Caen Class E 3 weeks ago. Front pads fitted, David Thomain at the helm this time and, while not a priority, will not be sent out at 49/1 this time either

12. LOULIANA DE VANDEL – Sanctioned in a 2700m Vincennes Class D late-August. Has been handed a 2nd-row draw but reverts to racing shod and is not to be ruled out

13. LICENZA – Pleasant 6th of 11 finishers, on re-entry, in a 2875m Class D at Meslay-du-Maine a week ago. Run will have done her good and the engagement of Eric Raffin will do her prospects no disservice

14. LADY DU COUDOU – Confirmed her form when 2nd of 12 in a 2850m Laval Class E a fortnight ago. Does not enjoy the best of draws and, given the opposition, will have limited chances

15. LOVE LETTERS FERM – Non partante

16. LAURE DE MORANZY – Sanctioned on re-entry a month ago in a 2150m Mauquenchy Class E. Is not without merit but has little going for her here and can be passed over

Summary: The promising LEA D’ATOUT (6) left a very good impression in last month’s return to racing; she will have come on for the run and has every chance of opening her autumn account. Unbeaten in both starts to date, LADY MAGALOU (9) is not ideally-drawn but will be fresh and is not to be underestimated. Sent for a rest after leaving a good impression here, LIMA MARY (2) is not without her chances of getting off the mark. LADY DU VALLON (4) has started to come into herself and, sporting 4 pads from the 4-spot, will not be far from the action.

SELECTIONS
LEA D’ATOUT (6) – LADY MAGALOU (9) – LIMA MARY (2) – LADY DU VALLON (4)
C4 – PRIX DE LA TOUR MONTPARNASSE – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 35,000

1. KRYSTAL PALACE – 7th of 12 in a 2725m Pornichet Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Has never disappointed at Enghien, has been entrusted to a leading driver, and can win this if he manages to channel his charge’s talent

2. KARATE KING – Serious type making first appearance since faulting in a 2850m Vincennes Class D last November, and will not be given a hard race

3. KILLER D’ENFER – At his best since starting to race unshod, most recently losing his maiden status in a 2450m Caen Class E 3 weeks ago and, if form still on same trajectory, can give KRYSTAL PALACE (1) something to think about

4. KING TURGOT – 10th of 13, behind KITO TURGOT (6), in a 2100m Vincennes Class E on 7 September. Imposed the last time he raced barefoot and, from 4-spot, will generate some interest

5. KARMA KILY – Very hard to fault lately, most recently runner-up to KILLER D’ENFER (3) in a 2450m Caen Class E 3 weeks ago. Ideally-positioned in front and looks a solid first-5 prospect

6. KITO TURGOT – Made it 2 straight sanctions when faulting early in a 2875m Class E here 11 days ago. Has bags of ability though and the draw will only work to his advantage

7. KENDO CASTELETS – Unexceptional 6th of 10 in a 2675m Class E at Le Mont-Saint-Michel a month ago. Has never excelled racing left-handed but that could all change with Yoann Lebourgeois reining

8. KOOPLES DE LARRE – Pleasantly surprising 3rd of 13 in a 2800m Vichy Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Starts wide on front line and is not about to spring a surprise

9. KITALPHAR – Undeniably capable but unplaced in last 3, most recently last of 9 in a 2700m Class E at La Capelle on 23 September, and needs to reassure

10. KLUEDO DE L’AVRE – Honest colt making Enghien debut after trotting 4th of 13 in a 2625m Cherbourg Class D a fortnight ago. Goes barefoot for the occasion and, even from 2nd line, can make his presence felt

11. KUROKO LAUAR – Won at Nort-sur-Erdre early-last month before coming 4th of 7 in a 3000m Nantes Class E 12 days ago. In this category however will have nothing to offer

12. KEEPSAKE MOSSA – Out of picture in last 3, latterly last but one in a 2800m Vichy Class E 2.5 weeks ago, and can expect to have few friends

13. KITKO DAIRPET – 5th of 13, a place behind KITO TURGOT (6), in a 2100m Vincennes Class E on 7 September. Is less-badly-drawn this time and with Anthony Barrier in the bike, can be assured 100%

14. KIKLOVE ATOUT – Has not been seen out since coming 5th of 10 in a Class E over course and distance mid-August. Jérémy Koubiche would have preferred a more competitive draw and others preferred this time

15. KAISER GIBUS – Showed promise at 2 but a write-off since, latterly sanctioned in a 2650m Alençon Class E early-September, and can be be disregarded

16. KIMI DU DOME – Stepped up in category nicely, coming 2nd of 14 in a 2700m Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne last week, and can play a prominent role if his driver positions him early

Summary: Never far from faulting, but never far from surprising either, KRYSTAL PALACE (1) makes just his 2nd start for the Pacha yard, goes barefoot for the occasion, with Eric Raffin in the bike, and has a realistic chance of winning this…if he deigns to stay in stride. The better-placed KILLER D’ENFER (3) got off the mark at Caen when first-time barefoot and also appears to be in with a decent shout. Solid as a rock lately, KIMI DU DOME (16) has been handed a shocking draw but goes unshod in front for the first time and will be a tough nut if Philippe Daugeard successfully navigates the start. There is no doubting the potential of KITO TURGOT (6) and, while regularly object of the stewards’ scrutiny, he reverts to racing with just front shoes off, and must be worth a punt.

SELECTIONS
KRYSTAL PALACE (1) – KILLER D’ENFER (3) – KIMI DU DOME (16) – KITO TURGOT (6)
C5 – PRIX DE LA PORTE DE SAINT-MANDE – 2875m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 46,000

1. DOROTY DEL SAURO – Useful Italian import that was sanctioned, when going well, in a 2850m Vincennes Class E late last month. Is behind in earnings and can get a look-in if Gabi Gelormini keeps her focused

2. DONNER AMOUR – Has struggled since the summer, most recently sanctioned in a 2850m Vincennes Class E 12 days ago, and will have nothing to contribute

3. JALHIA DU HANOY – Last of 14 when being conditioned for this in a 2725m Lisieux Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Is unbeaten when padded-all-around, and although preferred racing clockwise, must still be considered a player

4. JOHANA DU GUESCLIN – Has done nothing but improve lately, latterly 3rd of 12 in a 3000m Nantes Class E on 27 September. Finds herself in better company this time but, with some luck in running, can play a small part

5. JOYEUSE ENTREE – Made it 3 on the trot [for 3 different trainers] when securing a 2150m Vichy Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Matthieu Abrivard maintains faith and deserves to be taken seriously

6. JURELLA DE PALM – Close 2nd of 11 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E a month ago. Is plainly nearing her race and with her trainer in the bike will be no soft touch

7. JIVA – Has 2 races under her belt, latterly 12th of 15 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D 3 weeks ago. Has nothing to prove in this category and can make a big impact

8. JET SET DU BELLAY – Showed marked improvement when 3rd of 15 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E on 12 September. Is proven here but still represents little more than a minor place prospect

9. JULIA QUESNOT – 11th of 15 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D 3 weeks ago, when preparing for this. Caught the eye in final stages and must be afforded respect. Place chance

10. JORIA MESLOISE – Last of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes monté Class D conditioner a fortnight ago. Has placed just once in 3 here but is barefoot and will have her supporters

11. JISMIE GRIFF – Has 2 runs under her belt, latterly 13th of 15 in 19 September race of reference. Freshly-configured for first autumn objective but seems to be out of her depth

12. JALAPA DU BUISSON – 12th of 16 in a 2875m Class D at Meslay-du-Maine a week ago. Has done nothing noteworthy all year and can be ruled out

13. JAVERNE – Has ample ability but lacklustre 12th of 13 in a 2850m Vincennes Class B on 21 August. Drops down the category-ladder but others still easier to back

14. MISS JAJA – Last of 12, in a 2100m Vincennes Class D conditioner 10 days ago. Flew up last time she was here and has a very good chance of repeating

15. JESSY DES PISTES – A write-off this term, most recently last but one in 19 September race of reference and, even going barefoot, has no possible chance

16. DAYTONA DI CECCO – Drops marginally in category after trotting 8th of 12 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D 10 days ago. Enjoys a good entry but still appears to have too much to do

Summary: MISS JAJA (14) may not have been as sharp since winning with authority here during the summer but she has clearly been prepared for this, races barefoot for the occasion, and Alexandre Abrivard will be out to confirm. She faces a tough challenge though from a race-fit JIVA (7) who is shod as she was when placing last time at the venue, and JURELLA DE PALM (6) who has gone close in her last 3 and who races first-time barefoot. A very good campaigner when barefoot, JULIA QUESNOT (9) showed her form when prepping for this and could pleasantly surprise

SELECTIONS
MISS JAJA (14) – JIVA (7) – JURELLA DE PALM (6) – JULIA QUESNOT (9)
C6 – PRIX DE PASSY – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 40,000

1. KOKINE JABA – Capable trotter making first appearance since faulting in a 2175m Vincennes Class B last January. Races shod and will be given an easy re-entry

2. KISS ME WINNER – Seldom far from the action when focused, missing out by little in a 2400m Class D at Beaumont-de-Lomagne a month back. Starts in front and has every chance of imposing

3. KANAILLE DES ECUS – Hardy element with form at a superior level. Last but one in a 2100m Vincennes Class D when prepping for this on 13 September. Is superior to most here and, from the 3-spot, will be expected to contest the finish

4. KLASSIKA DIDALO – Honest type that finished 5th of 12, behind KISS ME DU LIVET (12), in a 2850m Vincennes Class D late-September. Drawn well here but still has more to find

5. KHALEESI D’ALESA – Sanctioned in last 2, most recently a 2175m Vincennes Class C on 20 September. Showed her form that day though, is well-placed in front and, although not a contender, can still play a small part

6. KIA DE GUELLE – 5th of 14 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D on 13 September. Left a good impression here early-August and looks a decent place chance once more

7. KAPUCINE ZEN – Has done nothing but improve lately, most recently good 2nd of 9 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D early last month. Should appreciate new profile and is unlikely to be going home empty-handed

8. KAI LA SHA – Ran a good 2nd over 2875m here before faulting in a 2825m Chartres Class B on 13 September. Is back to racing shod but still no more than a minor place prospect

9. KEEP ON ROLLING – Won 2 in a row before finishing 7th of 12 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D 12 days ago. Is new to the venue but will have her chances if she turns

10. KELOWA STARDUST – Faithful filly that ran 5th of 7 finishers, behind KISS ME WINNER (2), in a 2400m Class D at Beaumont-de-Lomagne a month ago. Handed tougher draw this time and, even though sporting a new formula, chances appear limited

11. KANTARELLINA CHIC – Unremarkable filly that finished 6th of 9 in a 2850m Feurs Class B on 2 September. Front pads fitted but not ideally-positioned and, in this elevated field, has no possible chance

12. KISS ME DU LIVET – Pleasantly-surprising 3rd of 12 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D late-September. Boasts good finishing speed which, considering the draw, she will need to produce

13. KAMBRIA JOSSELYN – Sanctioned in last 2, latterly a 2050m Cabourg Class D late-August, and will have nothing to give

14. KANELLE DE TILLARD – Lost her way after the spring, latterly sanctioned early in a 2700m Vincennes Class D early last month. Goes barefoot again, this time with Eric Raffin reining, and will have her supporters

15. KARVINA D’ELA – Like a horse reborn since mid-June, latterly 2nd of 12 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 20 September. Should take well to Enghien conditions and, already successful with Gelormini, can overcome the draw and finish close

16. KHITARA – Tricky but talented filly making first appearance since finishing last of 7 in a 2700m Vincennes Class B last February, and can be confidently passed over

Summary: Almost consistently in the thick of things when focused, KISS ME WINNER (2) gave a reassuringly good account last time out and with application, can make this her own. Well-regarded at home, KANAILLE DES ECUS (3) enjoys a somewhat better spot in front, has 2 comeback runs in her, and looks the main threat. On a fine run of form since the start of the summer, KIA DE GUELLE (6) enjoys these shorter trips and is well-placed to give this a good go. Untried at Enghien, KAPUCINE ZEN (7) nevertheless gave a very good account across town last month and looks competitively well-in on her first appearance at the venue.

SELECTIONS
KISS ME WINNER (2) – KANAILLE DES ECUS (3) – KIA DE GUELLE (6) – KAPUCINE ZEN (7)
C7 – PRIX DE LA PLACE BEAUVAU – 2875m (a2m) – Class E Race – Mounted – EUR € 41,000

1. INTREPIDE NEMO – In the frame in 2 of last 3, latterly 3rd of 9 in a 2800m Cholet Class G 10 days ago. Hind shoes off this time, but takes on a better bunch and chances limited

2. CAMPIONE RAL – Last of 8 in a 2950m Saint-Malo harness Class E 2 months ago. Has done nothing noteworthy since coming to France and can be ruled out

3. BEAU LEVALLO – Sanctioned, on French debut, in a 2600m Châlons-en-Champagne Class H 2.5 weeks ago. Eric Raffin drafted in for the occasion but still not an obvious choice

4. IMPACT DU CAUX – Sanctioned in a 2900m Châteauroux Class F 10 easy ago. Totally off the boil since mid-June and has no possible chance

5. INDIGODARCHE – Won 2 on the trot before being sanctioned in a 2650m Alençon Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Appreciates a good pace, is reunited with Victor Saussaye who won with him at La Capelle, and is a serious proposition

6. INTRIGUE DE MAX – Has turned a corner since starting to race with pads, most recently 4th of 8 in a 2825m Class E at Le Croisé-Laroche last week, and looks to have a good hand to play

7. TEATOX – Quality German trotter that has encouraged in both monté outings, latterly 4th of 5 finishers in a 2600m Châlons-en-Champagne Class H 2.5 weeks ago. Unlikely to spring a surprise but can still hold his own

8. RAMPANT – Pleased under the saddle at home in Sweden but was a trounced last of 8 in a 2950m Class E at Le Mans a month ago. Shoes off but others still preferred

9. IBIZA DE CONNEE – Back under the saddle after faulting in a 2850m Laval harness Class E mid-September. Is confirmed in the discipline, and sports modified shoeing, but others easier to back

10. MISS IRMA – Sanctioned in a 2100m Vincennes harness Class B 3.5 weeks ago, on just 2nd start following a long layoff. Has monté form in Sweden and, if race-fit, can make first 5

11. I AM DE LA COUR – Produced a pair of good efforts before finishing last but one in a 2800m Moulins Class H mid-September. Placed just once in 3 here and, although not a player, should still acquit himself honourably

12. IVALO DU BOCAGE – 6th of 12 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D 3 weeks ago. Has no references here and appears to be out of his depth

13. ICARE DU TRESOR – Oddly out of sorts when 6th of 9 in a 2750m Cabourg Class F early-August. Has been given time to recalibrate and, on good behaviour, can wrap this up

14. ITALIA JADOR – 6th of 9 on monté debut, behind INTREPIDE NEMO (1), in a 2800m Cholet Class G 10 days ago, and will need to raise her game

15. IDEAL D’ARTONGES – Opened his autumn account on 12 September, winning a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F. Again associated with Cléa Roger and must be respected

16. INDIGO GEDE – Won 3 from 5 before faulting in a 2650m Alençon Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Alexandre Pillon could not have asked for a better entry and will be counting on his pilot to deliver. Chance

Summary: Given a rest after failing to fire at Cabourg in early-August, ICARE DU TRESOR (13) returns to a track he appreciates, shod to preference, with his trainer onboard, and looks the pick of the field. Mathieu Mottier will still be keeping a watchful eye on the wonderfully-engaged, and padded, INDIGO GEDE (16) who receives an Alexandre Abrivard ride for the first time, and a reconfigured INDIGODARCHE (5) who has won 2 of his last 3. INTRIGUE DE MAX (6) has been showing her form and has a reasonable chance of making the frame.

SELECTIONS
ICARE DU TRESOR (13) – INDIGO GEDE (16) – INDIGODARCHE (5) – INTRIGUE DE MAX (6)
C8 – PRIX ARMAND DE BELLAIGUE – 2875m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 46,000

1. HERO D’HERTALS – Serious servant that seldom travels to France without a realistic chance of imposing, which he did at Strasbourg before running 2nd of 123 in a 2750m Class F at La Capelle on 23 September. Attention

2. INCOGNITO FAC – Simply superb so far this term, most recently winning a 3150m Class F at La Roche-Posay early last month. Has had time to freshen up and, from front line, can play an important role

3. ILLUSTRE SAX – Blows hot and cold but finished a reassuring 3rd of 14 in a 2725m Pornichet Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Not a priority but receives a Mathieu Mottier drive and will have his supporters

4. IZIJAL – Reassured at Ploubalay before being sanctioned [after 3 false-starts] in a 2600m Cherbourg Class F 2 weeks ago. On front row, reverts to a previous configuration and, given the chance, can play a part

5. IDEAL DU BISTON – Delivered 3 good efforts before finishing last but one in a 2700m Class F at Le Croisé-Laroche on 2 September, and will need to show marked improvement

6. IN VIVO – 10th of 15, behind INDIANO JIM (11), in a 3000m Nantes Class F late last month. Barefoot this time but other more competitive alternatives available

7. I AM PHYT’S – Modest trotter that was sanctioned in a 2825m Chartres Class F on 13 September and already looks outclassed

8. HIJO MOKO – Made short work of a 2725m Lisieux amateurs Class G 2.5 weeks ago. Has never delivered at Enghien but starts in front, with Matthieu Abrivard in the bike, and will be no soft touch

9. IDEAL MOSSA – 2nd of 10 in a 2575m Dieppe amateurs Class H 3 weeks ago. Barefoot this time but appears to have a mountain to climb

10. HIBISCUS NORMAND – Disappointing in last 2, most recently 8th of 16 in a 2450m Caen Class F 2.5 weeks ago, and is unlikely to shake things up

11. INDIANO JIM – 4th of 15 in a 3000m Nantes Class F 12 days ago. Takes on a tougher lot here but is barefoot for the occasion and, nicely-placed on front row, should not be discounted

12. IDOLE DE MEAT – Made it 2 victories in a row when comfortably winning a 2850m Class E at Lyon-Parilly 3 weeks ago. Unlikely to pull off the hat-trick but can still put on a decent show

13. INSTALL D’ALOUETTE – Won here before confirming in a 2100m Vincennes Class E late-August. Returns fresh and will justifiably garner the lion’s share of support

14. IVANA DES RACQUES – Produced quite the performance to come 3rd of 11 in a 2100m Vincennes Class B, at 91/1, 3.5 weeks ago. Drops in category but is unlikely to repeat

15. IDEAL DE JEAN – Useful sort that came 6th of 12, on return to competition, in a 2825m Chartres Class F on 13 September. Will have progressed for the run and, even from second row, has a reasonable chance of picking up a check

16. IN LOVE DE JIEL – 5th of 8 in a 2400m Amiens Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Has solid Enghien credentials and given the entry, must be considered a leading hope

Summary: Prolific trotter that has won 5 from 9 in 2024, INSTALL D’ALOUETTE (13) imposed emphatically here during the summer and even with an extra 25m to travel, still looks to have the advantage over the well-entered IN LOVE DE JIEL (16) who has won 2 of his 3 Enghien starts, and the consistently-reliable, and barefoot, HIJO MOKO (8) who steps out of the amateur division with a respectable chance of pulling off the double. Barring the occasional lack of focus, INCOGNITO FAC (2) is a model of consistency, starts in front, and deserves to take his chances at this level.

10. VENES – Finished 5th over 2000m at Nancy on the 29th of September and will need to do way more than that to threaten here. Pass by

11. SOAN – Current form has been on the decline and very erratic which makes it hard to assess. Happy to pass by and include others

12. SELKET – She was a winner four starts back and has been okay thereafter. Placed 5th over 2600m in a Handicap last time and can get into the first four at best. Small chance

ESTOKENIA (4) is one for the shortlist and can be given a serious place chance. KADIYAC (8) can be expected to be right there at the finish. First four claims.

Summary: SKIMBLESHANKS (4) brings solid and consistent form into the race and rates the one to beat. His last race course appearance was at Lyon Parilly on  the 17th of last month when running 4th in a similar Handicap. They may have to go some to peg him back. ROSE D’ETE (2) was a winner three starts back and has been in a Listed field since and a tough Handicap, back in a field as this, he can be very competitive.
