He gets the vote ahead of BECQUARAINBOW (2) who ran well over hurdles last time and has placed form in a Listed chase last year. MARCHE (5) was decent over hurdles and is worth considering on his chase debut. IMPERIAL MAG (4) is also trying fences for the first time and warrants respect.

C1 – PRIX DU MUSEE DES BEAUX-ARTS – 2500m (a1m1/2) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 21,000

  1. JULY DU GUESNE – 8th of 11 in a 2850m Vincennes claimer 12 days ago and has no possible chance
  2. JERIMOW – Missed out by little in a 2825m Le Croise-Laroche Class A 2 weeks ago. Handed the 2-spot and looks a serious proposition once more
  3. JUSTAUCORPS – 9th of 14 in a 2500m Saint-Brieuc Class F 3 weeks ago, when being conditioned. Has nothing to prove in this category and benefits from an excellent draw
  4. JUST AN ARTIST – Was well-supported when sanctioned in a 2500m Saint-Brieuc Class F 3 weeks ago. Reliability not her strong suit but, on good behaviour, can get a look-in
  5. JOKER DU BOIROND – Denied a run when 6th of 10 in a 2450m Caen Class F a fortnight ago. Handed a good draw and can win this if his talented driver keeps him out of trouble
  6. JOYCE D’AVEZE – Ran 2nd at Toulouse before coming 6th of 13 in a Class F under these conditions 10 days ago. Caught the eye on that occasion and the draw will do her prospects no disservice
  7. JULIANA DES LUCAS – Surprising 4th of 14, when shod, in a 2850m Laval Class E on 8 November. Shoes on again, and a similar effort would see her finish in the mix
  8. JAVA DE LANGERON – 8th of 13, behind JOYCE D’AVEZE (6), in a Class F over course and distance 10 days ago, and will need to take her game up a notch
  9. JOLIE CADENCE – 9th of 13, behind JOYCE D’AVEZE (6), in a Class F over course and distance 10 days ago, on first start back, and can be confidently disregarded
  10. JAIDA DE MAY – Got back in the game 2 weeks ago when 2nd of 12 in a 2150m Mauquenchy Class F. Handed a tough draw but still has the wherewithal to make first 5
  11. JAKIRA – 12th of 16 in a 2100m Vincennes Class F earlier this month. Starts on back row here and is not about to cause an upset
  12. JOKER DE VOUEDE – Took on too much when 9th of 10 in a 2450m Caen Class F a fortnight ago and is not a concern
Summary: Very unlucky on his comeback earlier this month, JOKER DU BOIROND (5) returns to a track he has shown a liking for and, with Franck Nivard reining for the first time, can open his autumn account. JERIMOW (2) has climbed the category-ladder well, has nothing to prove racing right-handed, and debuts at Reims with a reasonable chance of making it a victorious one. Although capricious at the best of times, JOYCE D’AVEZE (6) appears to have turned a corner recently and, with application, should prove a decent place prospect. JUSTAUCORPS (3) is never far from surprising when barefoot and will not be far off the mark if he replicates his Caen performance.

  14. HELEGANE JASMA – Sanctioned in a 2650m Saint-Galmier monté Class F on 5 November. Has other priorities and can be passed over
  15. HOT SHOT – 5th of 11 in a 2550m Class D here 10 days ago. Hind shoes off this time, pleased in last 2 at the venue, and should not be too far from the action
  16. HERCULE DE BEA – Carefully-campaigned, he ran 6th of 11 in a 2550m Class D here 10 days ago. Has solid references in the day’s configuration and is ideally-placed to contest the finish
  17. ILARIA KILY – Better than her 7th of 10 in a 2875m Argentan Class E 3 weeks ago would suggest. Has a lot going for her here and, against her elders, will have a good hand to play
  18. HEGOA DU BOULAY – Unremarkable 4th of 6 over 2600m at Wolvega on 8 November. Tends to show more at home and looks to be out of her depth
  19. GUERRIER ROYAL – Encouraged here in September before finishing last of 15 in a 2550m Class F here on 12 October. Starts wide and poses no threat
  20. HORIZON D’EYMY – Flew up under these conditions before faulting, when full of running, in a 2400m Amiens Class E on 27 October, and can make amends if Kristof Depuydt keeps him focused
  21. IL PLEUT BERGERE – Reassuring 5th of 12 in a 2725m Cabourg Class E on 26 October. Not ideally-drawn but is seldom far from the action and should finish thereabouts
  22. IZAC AWAGNE – Last of 10 to IDAO NAY (13) in a Class E over course and distance 10 days ago. Hind shoes off this time, likes these conditions and, even though in good company, can make his presence felt
  23. IVO SIVED – Unable to confirm September success when last but one in a 2825m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche early this month. Is clearly better than that though and can start to put things right
  24. HIC DU MOUCHEL – Surprising 6th of 10 to IDAO NAY (13) in a Class E over course and distance 10 days ago. Goes barefoot again but others still preferred
  25. IDAO NAY – Easy winner of a Class E over course and distance on 14 November. Franck Ouvrie back in the bike and has every chance of defying his number and doubling up
  26. GOLDWIN SANTIGNY – Faithful for the most part but, in this category, will need to improve on his 9th of 13 in a 2800m Strasbourg amateurs Class G a month ago
Summary: Comfortable winner under these conditions just 10 days ago, IDAO NAY (13) has been handed an unfavourable draw but has never disappointed when barefoot and once again looks the horse to beat. Not taxed when preparing for this recently, the well-positioned HERCULE DE BEA (4) is shod for competition and returns to a track he appreciates. ILARIA KILY (5) did not enjoy the best of trips last time but has pulled a good number, thrives here, and will be no pushover. Winner over course and distance before faulting at Amiens last month, HORIZON D’EYMY (8) did not exactly win the draw-lottery but, with application, can still figure prominently.

  28. IROKO DU CAIEU – Sanctioned early, but clearly showed his form, in a 2700m Class F at Le Croisé-Laroche a fortnight ago. Impressive last time barefoot here and is sufficiently well-positioned to make a big impact
  29. IDOLE DE NAVARY – 11th of 13, behind IRELAND TEAM (7), in a 2825m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche early this month. Has had time to get her house in order and the new formula may be just what the doctor ordered
  30. INDIEN PASS – Back to racing barefoot after running 7th of 11 in a 2150m Mauquenchy Class G conditioner 2 weeks ago. Is better than most here on a good day and with shoes off this time, can play a prominent part
  31. IGOR DES CAILLONS – Debuts at the venue after running 3rd of 13 in a 2650m Laval Class F last weekend and, if focused and still on the boil, should be able to wrap this up
  32. INTELLO DU MANERET – Returns to racing barefoot after coming 7th of 11 in a 2850m Mauquenchy amateurs Class G a week ago. Starts in front but others still preferred
  33. IRELAND TEAM – Never far from faulting but reassuring 4th of 13 in a 2825m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche on 1 November and, with application, is not incapable of spoiling the party
  34. IMMATERIEL D’AM – Sanctioned, on comeback, in a 2825m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche on 1 November. Preparing for a campaign under the saddle and can be passed over
  35. INCA VENESI – Ran 3rd at Amiens before repeating 3 weeks ago in a 2800m Strasbourg Class G 3 weeks ago. Handed an unfavourable number but will have a lot to contribute if his apprentice successfully negotiates the start
  36. ICE BAR GIRL – 12th of 14, on return to competition, in a 2625m Cherbourg Class E late-September. Barefoot this time but still has no possible chance
  37. ISAAC NORMAND – Steps back up in class after finishing 5th of 7 in a 2750m Grenade claimer on 19 October, and will have nothing to offer
  38. INFALLA – 11th of 15 in a 2800m Strasbourg Class F a month ago. Has been a write-off all season and can be ignored
  39. IMITCH DU MOULIN – Returned to competition with success over 2300m at Kuurne on 31 October. Has decent French form, has won here, but takes on better this time and the draw will do him no favours
  40. IDAHO CARTERY – 4th of 11 in a 2850m Mauquenchy amateurs Class G a week ago. Handed a shocking draw and others easier to back
Summary: IGOR DES CAILLONS (5) put in a reassuringly good performance at Laval last weekend, is freshly-reconfigured and, if focused, can take advantage of the draw and impose this time. Winner here during the summer, IROKO DU CAIEU (2) will be fit by now, is hard to fault when barefoot and focused, and looks the principal danger. IDOLE DE NAVARY (3) enjoys a good draw, has placed in 2 of 4 here, and even with front pads fitted, can still play a leading role. New to the venue, and stepping marginally up in category, INCA VENESI (9) is not fortuitously-drawn but is clearly in shape and must not be underestimated.

  42. KING CROWN – 9th of 10 in a 2725m Lisieux Class G on 13 October. Tricky character that seems totally off the boil and will have few friends
  43. KENOR DES LANDES – Last but one in a 2675m Class G at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 3 weeks ago, and has no possible chance
  44. KINGSTON DYCO – Reassuring 4th of 11 in a 2750m Class F at La Capelle 3 weeks ago. Thrives at Reims and can again figure prominently
  45. KING DE MAHEY – Disappointing lately, most recently sanctioned in a 2800m Vire Class F a fortnight ago, but has the quality to win this if his new trainer has found what makes him tick
  46. KASSIANO D’IS – Has not been seen out since coming 4th of 15 in a 2700m Class F at Le Croisé-Laroche last April, and is going to need the run
  47. KILL BILL MARGOT – Has been in fine form lately, lastly winning a 2400m Montauban Class F on 27 October. Finds himself in better company on this occasion but can still hold his own
  48. KADIZ DU VIEUXCOUR – Put 3 sanctions behind him to lose his maiden tag in a 2400m Montauban Class F late last month. Enjoys a good entry, has been entrusted to Franck Nivard, and ought to be taken seriously
  49. KANADA DES RACQUES – Failed to confirm Gournay success when 7th of 11, behind KINGSTON DYCO (4), in a 2750m Class F at La Capelle 3 weeks ago. Is 25m worse off this time and will have little to offer
  50. KRISTAL DE JIEL – Reassuring, and surprising, 5th of 12 finishers in a 2800m Strasbourg Class F on 27 October. 25m better off this time but a repeat seems improbable
  51. KEEPER BAY – Opened his account [at 17th time of asking] in a Class F over course and distance on 12 October. Has had ample time to recuperate and although forced to break with a penalty, must still be respected
  52. KAZAK ROYAL – Modest type that finished 9th of 11 in a 3125m Angers Class F 2 weeks ago. Shoes on again and poses no threat
  53. KOCO PEEL – Very good 2nd of 10 in a 2400m Amiens Class F on 5 October. On back line this time but going barefoot may be enough to compensate. Attention
  54. KARYNNDO ROBSEN – In the frame in 3 of last 4, most recently 2nd of 9 in a 2750m Class F at La Capelle 3 weeks ago. Stays shod this time and represents more a minor place prospect
  55. KAPARKA – Pulled-up, at 94/1, in a Class F over course and distance 10 days ago. On back line and poses little danger
  56. KSAR DU CORTA – Sanctioned in last 3, latterly a 2450m Caen Class F a fortnight ago. Likes these conditions and, with his trainer back in the bike, can make a big splash
Summary: Barefoot on his first run for Pierre-Louis Desaunette, KING DE MAHEY (5) can start to make good on the promise he showed earlier in the year. The complicated KSAR DU CORTA (16) enjoys an excellent entry, has never failed to deliver at Reims, and even though 25m worse off, will have his chances if applied. KINGSTON DYCO (4) has been knocking at the door, appreciates these conditions, and benefits from a front-line start. Barefoot for the first time since the spring, KOCO PEEL (13) incurs the penalty but went well for Franck Ouvrie at Amiens and can repeat.

  57. KIVALINA – Disappointing here last month before being sanctioned in a 2750m Class F at La Capelle 3 weeks ago. Shoes on and not a player
  58. KHOLSTAR JACK – 7th of 10 to KANZA DE NAVARY (8) in a 2500m Class H at Bihorel-lès-Rouen early-October and, even racing barefoot, will need to find more
  59. KATIA DE BRUCOM – Has not been seen out since trouncing the opposition in a 2700m La Capelle Class F on 8 September. Is clearly in competition-mode and, from front row, can repeat
  60. KATHY DU NORD – Not devoid of ability but sanctioned in last 2, most recently a 2750m Class F at La Capelle 3 weeks ago, and others easier to trust
  61. KALYPSO DU CAUX – Made it 4 straight sanctions when faulting in a 2750m Cabourg Class E 3 weeks ago and must get her house in order
  62. KIDEA DU BOUILLON – A write-off since winning at Le Touquet in September, latterly 8th of 11 in a 2675m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel last weekend, and will have nothing to contribute
  63. KADENCE DES LANDES – Last of 9, when preparing for this, in a 2700m Graignes Class F 2 weeks ago. Has come close more than once to losing her maiden tag and this may be just the opportunity
  64. KANZA DE NAVARY – Lost her maiden status at Bihorel-lès-Rouen before running 2nd of 9 in a 2200m Strasbourg Class G 3 weeks ago. Could not have asked for a better entry and Laurent Verva will be keen to take advantage
  65. KINKY PAN – Encouraged at Laon before finishing 7th of 12 in a 2750m Class F at La Capelle 3 weeks ago and can be disregarded
  66. KALEZIA POTERIE – 5th of 8 in a 2800m Vire Class F a fortnight ago. Incurs the penalty but won here over the summer and is in sufficiently good form to play a prominent role
  67. KISS SYMPHONY – 10th of 15 in a 2700m Vincennes monte Class E 12 days ago. Has bags of ability and, seemingly off the boil, she will be afforded every chance with Franck Nivard in the bike
  68. KALIFORNIE – Respectable 5th of 10 in a 2275m Nantes Class E late last month. Gets to try out a new formula here and, with application, can challenge for a place on the podium
  69. KHALIFA CEKE – Steps back up in category after running 2nd of 12 in a 2575m Agen claimer 3 weeks ago. Barefoot as she was when placing here in the spring and cannot be discounted
Summary: It took some time but KATIA DE BRUCOM (3) got off the mark in early-September and even though unseen since, she races barefoot for the occasion and can double her money. She will nevertheless feel the heat from KADENCE DES LANDES (7) who returns to racing barefoot after freshening up at Graignes, and the well-entered KANZA DE NAVARY (8) who has progressed smartly over recent weeks. KALIFORNIE (12) drops in category and even though on the back line, still looks competitive with her new configuration.

  70. LITTLE DREAM – 9th of 10 on comeback in a 2400m Amiens Class F mid-month. Will have progressed for the run and should prove more competitive this time
  71. LATINO THE BEST – Reassured at Dieppe before being sanctioned in a 2500m Class F at Bihorel-lès-Rouen on 20 October, and cannot be recommended
  72. LEODAGAN – Stylishly won a 2700m Class F at La Capelle 2 weeks ago. Debuts right-handed but comes here with morale intact and looks a serious proposition once again
  73. LE ROUPIO – Returns to racing shod after being sanctioned in a 2400m Amiens Class F mid-month. Franck Ouvrie in the bike but others still preferred
  74. LOOPING BEN MAX – Encouraged at Nuillé-sur-Vicoin before finishing last of 12 in a 2700m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche early this month. Not a priority but can pick up a cheque
  75. LORD CASH DE FONT – Talented and progressive colt that was sanctioned in a 2450m Caen Class F on 9 November, but excels when focused and can return to successful ways
  76. LUPIN DE MONTCEAU – Sanctioned in a 2450m Caen Class F 2 weeks ago. Is never far from faulting but will be reined by a leading driver, and with application can finish close
Summary: Sanctioned in 2, but winner of 4, LORD CASH DE FONT (6) fell foul of the stewards at Caen but can make this his own if Florent Guérineau keeps him trotting. LEODAGAN (3) however, made good on his promise a fortnight ago and, in similar shape, will be no easy touch. LUPIN DE MONTCEAU (7) would have finished in the money at Caen had he not lost his action, but the engagement of Franck Nivard can help to put things right.

  77. LADIVA DE PARIS – Qualified in 1’20″0 at Grosbois last April. Sports pads for debut and, from a yard in form, merits considerable attention
  78. LISETTE DE WATOU – Pleasant in 3 before being sanctioned in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F a week ago and, in this category, will have too much to do
  79. LIBERTY LIFE – Got off the mark at Gournay-en-Bray before faulting in a 2850m Laon Class F on 13 October, and is unlikely to generate much interest
  80. LA PERLA DE LOU – 3rd of 10 in a 2850m Laon Class F on 13 October. Consistently in the thick of things and, with Mathieu Mottier reining, can go closer this time
  81. LADY SAINT CHARLES – Reassuring 4th of 14 in a 2700m Class F at La Capelle 3 weeks ago. Sports front pads for first time but others easier to trust
  82. LILY FLEUR – Showed moderate improvement when 5th of 8, behind LADY GODIVA (14), in a 2450m Caen Class F a fortnight ago, but confirmation looks decidedly unlikely
  83. LAURA D’OSTENDE – Second only to a very good filly in a 2300m Chartres Class F on 27 October. Is plainly close to his race and will be expected to contest the finish
  84. LA NUIT JE MENS – Ran 4th over course and distance before finishing 6th of 9, behind LA CASTELLE (9), in a 2700m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche on 1 October. Not an obvious choice but can still get a look-in
  85. LA CASTELLE – Third in last 2, latterly of 9 in a 2700m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche on 1 October. Mathias Gyre keeps the drive and looks competitive for a spot in the mix
  86. LA BELLE MIKA – Modest filly that finished last of 9 in a 2400m Amiens Class F mid-month and can be confidently ruled out
  87. LADY DIGEO – Disappointing on the whole since the spring, most recently sanctioned early in a 2700m Graignes Class F 3 weeks ago, and can be passed over
  88. LILY PEEL – Has shown good consistency, latterly 3rd of 10 in a 2500m Class F at Bihorel-lès-Rouen on 20 October. Unlikely to get off the mark but can still get in on the action
  89. LASTOJAINE – 6th of 12 in a 2750m Cabourg Class E a month back. Was by no means disgraced that day, has form here, and will have a claim on a place in the frame
  90. LADY GODIVA – 3rd of 8, but unlucky nevertheless, in a 2450m Caen Class F a fortnight ago. Experienced hands at the tiller and has ideal conditions to impose this time
Summary: Winner under the saddle at Paray-le-Monial late last month, the well-engaged LADY GODIVA (14) would most certainly have won at Caen had she not faulted. Franck Ouvrie is in the bike this time though and will be expected to set things square. LAURA D’OSTENDE (7) went close at Chartres last month and will be dangerous if she turns. Faithful for the most part and solid last time out, LA PERLA DE LOU (4) gets a leading driver here and will have a good hand to play. Nicely-entered, LASTOJAINE (13) placed here during the summer and drops in category with a lot to contribute.

  91. MATRIX SAUTREUIL – Makes career debut after qualifying in 1’19″1 at Grosbois last month. Has had time to recuperate and will be worth monitoring
  92. MERCURIUS DUCAMPUS – Qualified in 1’18″4 at Le Croise-Laroche last July. Hails from a top stable and with Franck Nivard in the bike, will be competitive for victory
  93. MILADY D’ATOUT – Qualified in 1’18″5 at Le Mans last July. Well-related filly that will have a lot to offer if she takes to Reims profile
  94. MILORD DU COJEUL – Untried gelding that qualified in a modest 1’20″5 at Grosbois in September and is not easy to recommend
  95. MY BLACK CADENCE – Has not been seen out since being sanctioned on debut in a 2000m La Capelle Class E on 8 September, and is unlikely to shake things up
  96. MAJUSCULE – Looked very ordinary when last of 7, on debut behind MADOKA JIEL (10), in a 2200m Strasbourg Class F on 3 October, and can expect to have few takers
  97. MAJOR DU RUISSEAU – Sanctioned in 2 before finishing last of 6, behind METEORE DE SIMM (12), in a 2000m Class F at La Capelle a fortnight ago, and can be confidently passed over
  98. MILO RENKA – Yet to show much potential, lastly 9th of 11 over 1609m at Wolvega early this month, and comes to France with unrealistic expectations
  99. MAKINA DANICA – Never-dangerous but respectable 3rd of 6 finishers in a 2000m La Capelle Class F a fortnight ago. Goes right-handed this time and should be good enough to contest the finish
  100. MADOKA JIEL – Showed improvement when 3rd of 7 in a 2200m Strasbourg Class F 3 weeks ago. Is unlikely to take the world by storm but is decent enough to make first 5
  101. MAGNUS MAXIMUS – Respectable 5th of 8 in a 2050m Cabourg Class E a month ago. Is better than that though and will be expected to show another side this time
  102. METEORE DE SIMM – Good 2nd of 6 finishers in a 2000m Class F at La Capelle a fortnight ago. Looks a progressive sort and has every chance of getting off the mark
Summary: Runner-up to a very good horse on debut recently, METEORE DE SIMM (12) will have come on for the run and could well impose this time. She takes on a pair of untried elements though, MERCURIUS DUCAMPUS (2) and MILADY D’ATOUT (3), both of which qualified in very good order. MAGNUS MAXIMUS (11) has done everything right so far and appears to be in a position to pick up his first place cheque.

C1 – PRIX DU MARQUIS D’AYGUESIVES – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 18,000

  1. BOEZA – Distant 5th on heavy ground at Bordeaux over 1900m on 26 October. Finished a long way adrift of re-opposing MISSION GAMMA (2) – place chance only
  2. MISSION GAMMA – An improving filly in good form and physical condition. Backed-up her 1600m Chantilly claiming success with a good 2nd in a 1900m Class 2 at Bordeaux on 26 October and her opening handicap mark could be lenient
  3. SOLAS – Made a winning handicap debut over 1700m on PSF at Pornichet on 13 November. Not taken lightly despite a 3kg penalty
  4. WELLINGTON PREMIER – A consistent colt whose form and experience stand him in good stead on his handicap debut. Showed his form and well-being by finishing 3rd over 1600m at Bordeaux on 5 November
  5. KENDJA – Unplaced in 2 starts with blinkers fitted – finished 8th in both, the latest in a PSF claimer at Lyon-La Soie over 1800m on 4 October. On handicap debut
  6. COPAN – Consistent in 3 starts after winning a 1400m claimer in August but blotted his copybook with a disappointing 6th on PSF over 2000m at Pau on 13 November. Shorter trip and switch to the handicap category should suit
  7. O MEIGO – Finished 3rd on debut at Mont-de-Marsan in September but has gone the wrong way since – finished unplaced in both subsequent outings, the latest (10th) in a 1600m Bordeaux maiden on 5 November. Handicap debut
  8. BYGRACE – Nine-start maiden whose only placed effort was in a 1400m Mont-de-Marsan claimer. She makes her handicap debut after finishing 6th at Castera-Verduzan over 1700m on 22 September
  9. AUTOMNALE – Unplaced in all 4 starts and soundly beaten (11th) in her first start on PSF over 1400m at Pau on 19 October. Handicap newcomer
  10. LAHOMI – Well-known in the claiming category (14 of 16 appearances at that level) and her experience should stand her in good stead. Finished 3rd in a Le Croise-Laroche claimer over 1800m on 16 November
  11. NEBBIA BIANCA – Unplaced in 7 appearances and unlikely to trouble the judge, despite reverting to the turf. Well-beaten 10th in a 1700m PSF handicap at Pornichet on 13 November
Summary: Improving MISSION GAMMA (2) arrives in good form and rude health so she makes plenty of appeal on her handicap debut and is a genuine candidate for race honours in the opener. Consistent WELLINGTON PREMIER (4) has the form and consistency to threaten the selection, while supplemented LAHOMI (10) leaves the claiming category with legitimate ambitions in a handicap for the first time. COPAN (6) and SOLAS (3) complete the shortlist.

  12. NOLITO – Rejuvenated by the addition/fitting of blinkers – maintained his form/consistency in 6 starts with the headgear, the latest (4th) in a 1350m handicap at Lyon-Parilly on 8 November. Winning chance
  13. KILFRUSH MEMORIES – Bounced back to form recently in 2 starts off this mark – confirmed the form/improvement of his Clairefontaine 3rd by finishing an unlucky 4th in a 1400m Saint-Cloud handicap on 15 November. The horse to beat
  14. LAURENT – Inconsistent but has references at a higher level and remains undeniably capable, despite finishing 14th over 1600m in a Saint-Cloud handicap on 10 October. Dark horse
  15. TALISMAN TOUCH – Hard-knocking veteran with sound references/form credentials in turf handicaps. Absent since finishing 9th at Saint-Cloud in a 1600m handicap on 14 May
  16. VILLAIRES – Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 6th in a 1200m handicap at this venue on 31 October but this extended trip isn’t likely to suit. Vulnerable
  17. DANCE AHEAD – Placed in both starts recently back on French soil, albeit in the claiming category – the latest (2nd) in a claimer on this course over 1600m on 31 October. For lovers of outisders
  18. NATURAL PATH – Won a 1400m La Teste handicap in June off a mark just 1kg higher. Dropped to this rating after unplaced recent starts/performances in PSF handicaps, the latest (13th) at Pau over 1600m on 13 November. Attractive outsider
  19. SEAGALI – Rejuvenated hard-knocker in good form and physical condition – won 2 of his last 3 starts, including his latest over this course and distance on 11 November. Remains competitive under a penalty
  20. FLEXIBILITY – Experienced filly whose form and consistency will stand her in good stead. Finished 3rd in the benchmark race over this course and distance behind SEAGALI (8) and RAPIDO PRESTO (10) on 11 November – keep safe
  21. RAPIDO PRESTO – Honest hard-knocker with sound form references/credentials, including a last-start 2nd in the benchmark race over this course and distance behind SEAGALI (8). Should have a role to play
  22. SILVER SILENT – Won then finished 2nd in back-to-back 1400m handicaps at La Teste in August. Soundly beaten (14th) in a PSF handicap over 1600m at Pau on 13 November but should fare better back on turf
  23. MI C’INFILO – Experienced hard-knocker with sound references/form credentials in turf handicaps. Shouldn’t be condemned for finishing 9th in a 1500m PSF handicap at Deauville on 20 November – not taken lightly
  24. VISIR IZNOGUD – Sparingly race 7-year-old who was resuming after a 4-month absence when finishing 10th in a 1200m handicap on this course last month (2 October). Has few references over this distance
  25. HONG KONG STAR – Thriving veteran mare whose good recent form and fitness bodes well for her chances under bottom weight. Finished 3rd in a 1200m handicap at this venue on 31 October – candidate for success
Summary: Rejuvenated KILFRUSH MEMORIES (2) finished an unlucky 4th at Saint-Cloud recently but has proven his competitiveness off this mark and a repeat of that performance could suffice. NOLITO (1) has rediscovered his form with blinkers fitted and will give cheek to the selection. Veteran mare HONG KONG STAR (14), familiar foes RAPIDO PRESTO (10) and FLEXIBILITY (9) finished 2nd and 3rd respectively over track and trip recently, and SEAGALI (8) appeal most of the remainder.

  27. OCEAN – Versatile hard-knocker with sound references in handicaps on both surfaces but is out of sorts. Finished 15th in a 1600m PSF handicap at Pau on 13 November
  28. WHEEL OF CHANCE – Confirmed the form and improvement of his 3rd in a Lignières handicap at the beginning of the month by winning a 1400m Strasbourg handicap on 11 November. Remains competitive even under a 2,5kg penalty
  29. MAPLE GIRL – Returned to form recently in 3 starts off her current mark – finished 3rd twice and didn’t go unnoticed when 5th over track and trip in a Class 4 event on 11 November. Should have a role to play
  30. RED TORCH – Battle-hardened handicapper with sound references/form credentials at this level on both surfaces, including a last-start 5th in a 1700m Marseille-Borely handicap on 10 November. Not taken lightly
  31. CODE OF SILENCE – Versatile hard-knocker with sound references/form credentials in handicaps on both surfaces. Shouldn’t be condemned for finishing 9th in a 1400m PSF handicap at Pau on 19 October – better expected back on the turf
  32. BECHO – Bounced back to form with a reassuring 2nd behind an ideally engaged class-dropper in a 1600m Class 3 event at Mont-de-Marsan on 16 November. Not taken lightly
  33. HURRICANE LIGHT – Rediscovered his form recently in 3 starts with blinkers refitted and confirmed his form/well-being by finishing a good 2nd in a 1400m Saint-Cloud handicap on 15 November. Hard to hold out
  34. KHABESA – Experienced filly whose form/consistency and proven competitiveness at this level off her current mark should stand her in good stead. Finished 7th over track and trip on 11 November – should do better back in a handicap
  35. JELIEL – Inconsistent but has references at a higher level and is on a career-low mark. Well-beaten 11th over this course and distance on 11 November but has the means to do better under these conditions
  36. LADIES LAW – Experienced hard-knocker with references in turf handicaps off a higher mark. Finished 6th in a 1600m claimer at this venue on 17 November – best watched for now
  37. ODIN – Unreliable colt although not entirely incapable of getting into the picture, especially on turf. Finished unplaced (13th) in a 1600m PSF handicap at Pau on 13 November
  38. KATHALINA – Hard-knocking handicapper with sound references/form credentials at this level off higher marks. Unplaced in both comeback outings recently, the latest (7th) over 1200m at Agen on 27 October – dangerous off this mark
  39. MARVELOUS CAPRICE – Inconsistent and more effective/competitive at a lower level. Soundly beaten 10th in a 1400m PSF handicap at Pau on 19 October
Summary: Tony Piccone has been very successful at Toulouse this year and is a notable jockey booking aboard HURRICANE LIGHT (8) whose recent form/consistency deserves a reward. He wouldn’t be winning out of turn and should get the better of MAPLE GIRL (4), who didn’t go unnoticed last time, and WHEEL OF CHANCE (3), the only last-start winner in the lineup. BECHO (7) and GUERREIRA (1) have place chances.

  41. SIRJAN – Regained his form and momentum recently with 4 comeback appearances after a lengthy layoff – confirmed as much by winning a 2400m Listed race in Madrid (Spain) on 20 October. Attractive outsider
  42. TRABUCO – Consistent hard-knocker whose form and experience will stand him in good stead. Should his well-being when 3rd over track and trip on 23 October
  43. POCA GEN – Continues to push his limits. Posted a career-best performance when winning a course-and-distance Quinte+ on 11 November
  44. HOMO DEUS – Won this Listed event in 2022 and finished 2nd last year – carefully prepared for another bid to reclaim his title. Regained freshness since finishing 5th in a 2500m Group II at Deauville on 25 August, candidate for success
  45. GALEGO STAR – A model of consistency with sound references/form credentials, including a creditable last-start 5th in a 3000m Listed race at Fontainebleau on 14 November. Outsider chance over this shorter trip
  46. GOLDEN CALL – Back to his best recently, winning twice and finishing 2nd twice in his last 4 starts. Won a course-and-distance Class 1 on 23 October in his first Toulouse appearance – keep safe
  47. BELIEVER – Only 3-year-old in the race and ideally engaged off his current mark under bottom weight. Finished a good 4th in a 2000m Listed race at Chantilly on 26 October – shouldn’t be underestimated over this extended distance
Summary: SHAKTI (1) has won 3 times over 2400m so should enjoy cutting back in trip and the drop in grade into these calmer waters after competing at Group I level over 3100m last time. Winner of this Listed race in 2022, HOMO DEUS (5) finished 2nd in this event last year and has legitimate ambitions in his bid to reclaim the title. Last-start winner, of a Class 1 conditions race over track and trip, GOLDEN CALL (7) isn’t underestimated and should acquit himself competitively along with BELIEVER (8) who is the sole 3-year-old in the lineup and ideally engaged under bottom weight.

  50. BEAU LINGE – Finished 7th over 1400m at Parislongchamp in October in Listed class and back in this division could be hard to beat. Strong win
  51. PANAREA – Current form is uninspiring and has not yet won a race. Hard to make a case for and can be passed by
  52. LOYAL PRINCE – Best effort was three races back when 2nd at Vichy over 1000m in a Handicap. Small, outside place chance at very best. Prefer others
  53. MRS HOLIDAY – Placed an attractive 4th over 1200m at Toulouse in a Handicap last time and is one for the shortlist. Big chance
  54. QUEEN OF LIGHT – Would be a shock winner on current declining form. Pass by as will be a huge outsider
  55. ABSOLUTE – Caught the eye when 2nd over 1400m in a Handicap on the 5th of this month. Big chance
  56. SPRING BEAUTY – Finished 7th last time but did win at Croise-Laroche before that and has to be taken seriously. First four chance
  57. DELIA CHOPE – Won over 1200m at Mont-De-Marsan on the 10th of this month and can follow up. Respect and include despite being a likely outsider
  58. DADAS BOY – Won penultimate, finished 7th over 1200m at Mont-De-Marsan after that and will need huge progression on that to feature here. Look elsewhere
Summary: BEAU LINGE (3) takes a step back in class from a Listed race to a Handicap and should take a power of beating. Her last run was at Parislongchamp over 1400m. Firm first choice. ECLAIRE LA VIE (1) was a winner three starts back and boasts solid overall form. She is a big runner. MRS HOLIDAY (6) very seldom runs a bad race, goes well in this class and is a must for all bets. 63. ALGHEED – Won on debut, followed up with a 2nd then a dismal run-in 11th albeit in a strong feature. Obviously capable and can earn. Place claims
  64. LABWA DE CARRERE – Will need to build on latest 5th at Toulouse on the 31st of last month to feature in this. Pass by
  65. ALMURJANAH – Hard to fancy on two runs seen thus far and others should be way the stronger. Happy to ignore from all bets
  66. GHAIDAA – Placed a creditable 4th over 1600m at Toulouse on the 31st of October in feature company. Strong each way chance
Summary: HM MAJDALLAH (2) is clearly very talented having won first up and following on with a huge run-in 2nd at Saint-Cloud over 2000m in a feature race. Strong win. THAYIR (1) was a winner on debut at Toulouse and could end up being absolutely anything. One to follow. GHAIDAA (8) is a filly that has placed twice from two starts only and should be able to place again. ALGHEED (5) might need to do more for the win but can certainly place.
    SELECTIONS
    HM MAJDALLAH (2) – THAYIR (1) – GHAIDAA (8) – ALGHEED (5)
    C7 – PRIX JEAN DARAUX – 3000m (a2m) – TURF – Class 3 Handicap – Flat – EUR € 18,000
  67. LUCIO VERO – Ignore last shocking run when 12th, was victorious before that over 3100m at Parislongchamp in October and can be expected to bounce right back to best. Chance
  68. ALERIO – Running well, last start was a 2nd finish over 2500m at Saint-Cloud but in a weak claimer race. Might be worth including in the quartet as the possible value for the places
  69. SPANISH LIGHT – Has shown some spark before but is a tad erratic and hard to follow. Last run was not good when 11th over 2400m. Prefer others
  70. A BETTER WORLD – Ignore last run when 8th, judge on penultimate effort finishing 3rd over 3000m in a competitive Handicap. Outside place chance at best
  71. GERMINAL – Much better effort last time when 4th over 2000m but will need to confirm and build on that to feature here. Prefer others
  72. MOZART DES BRIERES – Doing well, holding form, finished 2nd over 2400m in a Handicap at Lyon Parilly last time and can go one more. Strong claims
  73. KERDINA – Finished 2nd in last two starts and can threaten all the way home. Last run was over 3000m in a Handicap. Big runner
  74. SWIRLING WIND – Finished 2nd on the 11th of this month at this track over 2400m in a Handicap and has to be taken seriously. Good chance
  75. SITJAR – Comes into the race fresh off a victory over 2950m at Cholet in early November. Each way chance
  76. ROUGE – Current form has been on the decline over various distances and would therefore be a shock winner. Unlikely. No
  77. KING OF MEADOWS – Will have a good chance if building on latest 3rd finish in a Handicap over 2400m and must therefore be included in the permutations. Good chance
  78. WHITE CARD – Brings erratic form into the race and therefore makes this one hard to predict and assess. On best form, could place, but others are likelier. Not today
Summary: SWIRLING WIND (8) is in tip top form and might prove hard to oppose. She was a winner at penultimate and followed up with a smart 2nd over 2400m at this track. Big win chance. KERDINA (7) is knocking loudly at the door and one of these days, should be able to go one more. Bright chance. MOZART DES BRIERES (6) is ultra consistent and cannot be excluded from any bets. First three claims. LUCIO VERO (1) is a must and natural inclusion for the quartet.
    SELECTIONS – SWIRLING WIND (8) – KERDINA (7) – MOZART DES BRIERES (6) – LUCIO VERO (1)
