French Selections Thursday 26th

R1 CAGNES-SUR-MER [L-H]

C1 – PRIX ROGER LEDOYEN – 2925m (a2m) – Class B – Harness – EUR € 49,000

  1. KOMPANY VINCENT – Superb in both Paris and Cagnes this winter. Easily won a lesser Class B under these conditions last week and should logically hold his own. First 5
  2. KENO PETTEVINIERE – Ran 2nd over course and distance before failing to deliver in a Vincennes Gr.3 on 8 February. Has not once failed to produce the goods when barefoot at Cagnes, and will be suitably well-backed
  3. HESCORT LOVE – Got the year off to a poor start but redeemed himself here last Friday and can again figure prominently, provided Gabriele Gelormini keeps him focused
  4. GIVE ME CASH – Back in superior company after running 5th in a 2700m claimer here last week, and has nothing to contribute
  5. JOY DU CARNOIS – Made up for 2 modest Vincennes runs when 2nd of 14 in a Class D over course and distance on 7 February. Has never disappointed at Cagnes when barefoot and from the front line must be regarded a contender
  6. GRIGRI DU BONHEUR – Complicated individual but did run 2nd under these conditions early last month. Goes barefoot following his conditioner here last Friday, but others still easier to back
  7. HAJIME – Has hardly put a foot wrong for past 14 months. Just missed out on the hat-trick at Vincennes earlier in the month and Pierrick Le Moel will be keen to set the record straight
  8. ISEULT FLOWER – Sent for a spell after flopping here on 18 December. Is plainly in race-mode though, enjoys a fine entry on the first row, and is not incapable of playing a small part
  9. GREZ – Eliminated in a Vincennes claimer on 22 January. Is shod for first appearance for new trainer and best to hold off
  10. HEROS DES MOTTES – 5th in a similar event here 2 weeks ago but failed to confirm when trounced in a Gr.3 here 6 days ago. Shoes back on and can be passed over
  11. FICIMER – Quality element with solid monte credentials. Here for reasons of conditioning and poses no threat
  12. GIMY DU POMMEREUX – Aged 10 and no longer the horse he once was. Drops down the category-ladder but still not a concern
  13. HEDIC GEMA – Group-class trotter making first appearance since last August. Has shown a liking for Cagnes-sur-Mer though and with shoes off for the occasion will be able to get in on the action
  14. KANTO AVIS – Good class of trotter but has struggled in more exalted company this winter. Has never failed to deliver at Cagnes and is not about to start now. Claim
Summary: Multiple group winner, KANTO AVIS (14) takes a notable dip in category after failing to fire in Paris this winter and should be good enough to impose. 25m better off and winner of his last 2 Cagnes starts, HAJIME (7) is very hard to ignore, as is JOY DU CARNOIS (5) who gave a very good account here earlier in the month. KENO PETTEVINIERE (2) found the going a bit too tough at Vincennes recently, but returns to a track he likes and will be justifiably well-supported. An excellent servant when barefoot, KOMPANY VINCENT (1) steps up in category with a good hand to play.
    SELECTIONS
    KANTO AVIS (14) – HAJIME (7) – JOY DU CARNOIS (5) – KENO PETTEVINIERE (2)
    C2 – PRIX MISTER LUCKEN – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 22,000
  15. MIKE DES CARREAUX – Respectable colt with just the one race under his belt since the Christmas break, and at this level will have too much to do
  16. MADRELLO – Imposed on debut here last August. Starts for the first time since, but will have progressed in the meantime and from the 2-spot looks a major player
  17. MY WAY DE QUELETTE – Erratic element that imposed over 2925m here before flopping at Mons, but is clearly not far off his best and, if applied, can make the most of his draw and finish in first 5
  18. MIRAGE D’ERPION – Is not devoid of talent but is not the easiest to handle either, and would be preferred racing clockwise
  19. MADE IN GEDE – Delicate sort the has been eliminated in all 6 starts this term and even though reconfigured, still looks a rank outsider
  20. MATTHEWS BOKO – 4th to MY WAY DE QUELETTE (3) here a month back, a fortnight before being eliminated at Hyeres. Has evident ability and can play a part if he stays trotting
  21. MAN ON FIRE – Serious colt that ran 2nd on debut here last July. Has not been seen since but is competitively-shod and can expect the lion’s share of support
  22. MANDARINO FLEURY – Tricky sort but was still in contention when eliminated at Mauquenchy 3 weeks ago. Starts wide but can finish in the mix if Theo Briand manages to keep him focused
  23. MARCHE A L’OMBRE – Untried sort that qualified in 1’18’8 at Caen last August. Sports front pads for career bow and looks competitively well in. Place chance
  24. MY DREAM QUICK – Modest individual that has yet to show any particular aptitude for the game and is not about to start now
  25. MAHATMA – Qualified in 1’18’1 last April, is smartly-bred, and should be good enough to finish in the mix first time out
Summary: A beautifully-related colt that ran 2nd on his debut here last July, MAN ON FIRE (7) will have come on over the winter and, with hind shoes off this time, can lose his maiden status. He will be opposed by the better-positioned MADRELLO (2) who got off the mark here a month ago, and the promising, and padded, MARCHE A L’OMBRE (9) who has not been seen in public since qualifying in August 2024. MAHATMA (11) is not ideally-drawn either but, if as good in competition as he was in qualification, his place is on the podium.
    SELECTIONS
    MAN ON FIRE (7) – MADRELLO (2) – MARCHE A L’OMBRE (9) – MAHATMA (11)
    C3 – PRIX D’AMMEVILLE – 2925m (a2m) – Class F – Harness – EUR € 16,000
  26. NAPOLEON DE GOUYE – Produced a fine 1’18’3 in qualification here 3 weeks ago. Is in more elevated company this time however and unlikely to influence the result
  27. NETFLIX MADRIK – Untried colt that qualified in 1’19’5 at Feurs last October and may find the going a bit too tough
  28. NICIAS – Well-related colt that won his qualification in good order last May. Will have come on in the interim and can impose at the first time of asking
  29. NOFARO – Would have put in a better time in qualification had he not blundered at the first turn. Is half-brother to the good Halfa and is sure to generate a lot of interest
  30. NUMERO DE LAUMONT – Out of the talented Bulle De Laumont who herself had a liking for Cagnes-sur-Mer, and if as good as believed, can compete for success
  31. NIDORINO – Has not been seen out since his debut under the saddle at Vincennes in early-December. Makes first appearance for new trainer but will need the run
  32. NOW AND THEN – Acquitted himself respectably in 2 starts last month. Faces a stiffer test this time, but receives a Theo Briand drive, and cannot be ruled out
  33. NICE PARIS – Nicely-engaged colt making first start since late-November, and debuts in France. Has shown potential at home and in the hands of Gabriele Gelormini will be assured a competitive drive
Summary: With 5 of the 8 runners racing first time out, the key may just be found among the untried elements. NICIAS (3) hails from a yard going good-guns and his qualification will not have gone unnoticed. NUMERO DE LAUMONT (5) sprang no surprises in his own qualification but he is out of a mare who amassed over 570,000 Euros during her career, and hopes will be high at home. Unsure of stride in his qualification, NOFARO (4) is particularly well-related and, with application, can finish close.
    SELECTIONS
    NICIAS (3) – NUMERO DE LAUMONT (5) – NOFARO (4) – NICE PARIS (8)
    C4 – PRIX DE LA CIOTAT – 2925m (a2m) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 22,000
  34. LOUMIODO – Delicate element that showed marked improvement when 3rd to LOTOIS JEC (8) in a Class F under these conditions a month ago. Steps up in category but races barefoot again and can play a small role
  35. LUBERON DE LA CRAU – Handy sort with just the one run under his belt since the break. Is still in conditioning-mode and best to keep one’s powder dry
  36. L’ULTIME ESPOIR – Ironically-named individual that has been a write-off in both codes over recent months. Is first-time barefoot but still not a concern
  37. LIBERO DE LOU – Back under harness after being eliminated in the other code at Lyon-La Soie last week. Has no references in this category and will struggle to make his mark
  38. LE POMMEREUX – Has done nothing but blot his copybook since last summer and will not be setting off any fireworks
  39. LAMTOTO – Unremarkable trotter making first appearance since last November and is going to need the race
  40. LIPSTICK QUICK – Can prove a handful but presents excellent Cagnes credentials. Shoes off this time and can make a big impact if Romain Derieux keeps him trotting
  41. LOTOIS JEC – Made short work of a Class F under these conditions on 25 January before being eliminated at Marseille-Vivaux a fortnight ago. Form is not in question though and, with application, will have an important part to play
  42. LABEL DU MONT – Failed to confirm course-and-distance victory when 7th of 13, a place behind L’AIGLE (10), in a 2150m Class E here on 31 January. Should not be too hastily-judged though and can be backed with confidence
  43. L’AIGLE – Flattering 4th of 5 finishers in a Marseille-Vivaux Class E a fortnight ago. Never closer than 4th in 8 Cagnes runs and is unlikely to spring any surprises
  44. LOEK DE REUX – Won under these conditions last summer but has not been as sharp over recent months. Cannot be considered a priority but can trot when it suits him and should not be discounted
  45. LAOS DE BANVILLE – Very disappointing since returning to competition in the autumn and will not be troubling the judge
  46. LEMON JULRY – Makes Cagnes debut after winning 2 of 3 this winter. Showed considerable courage early this month at Saint-Galmier and, considering the engagement, must be afforded significant respect
  47. LUCKY MIX – In the frame in last 2 starts, most recently 2nd in a Lyon-La Soie Class D on 29 January. Has no particular love for Cagnes but in current condition is very easy to like
Summary: Very much at home here, LIPSTICK QUICK (7) was given an easy prep under these conditions earlier in the month and, barefoot this time, can impose. He will still come up against the superbly-entered LUCKY MIX (14) who is plainly close to his race, and LEMON JULRY (13) who has turned a corner this winter. LOTOIS JEC (8) won over course and distance a month back and, if applied, can again co close.
    SELECTIONS
    LIPSTICK QUICK (7) – LUCKY MIX (14) – LEMON JULRY (13) – LOTOIS JEC (8)
    C5 – PRIX D’HELSINKI – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 38,000
  48. JAVANAIS DELO – Valiant 2nd in a Class D under these conditions late last month. Is plainly in excellent shape and looks primed to take all the beating
  49. JOIE DE LA COTE – Disappointing in 3 since the turn of the year, but has form under these conditions and, barefoot this time, can begin to make amends
  50. IDEM JIHEM – Has been disappointing on the Riviera this winter and would have better prospects at a lower level
  51. GALEO D’AMARO – Was denied any chance before being eliminated in Paris last week. Has a lot more going for him here though and will be no easy touch if kept out of trouble
  52. HANA D’OCCAGNES – Has been racing respectably since moving yards, and benefits from a good draw. Is not a contender but, from the 5-spot, with Paul Ploquin reining, could pleasantly surprise
  53. ISEO DE LOU – Twice 2nd over 2925m before coming 3rd over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Is clearly close to his race and must be taken seriously
  54. ILLICO DU JAS – Has finished runner-up 5 times over 2150m here. Is clearly in race-mode on this occasion and, although unlikely to buck the trend, can nevertheless compete for a spot in the mix
  55. HOUPETTE ROSE – Back to racing barefoot after being prepared for this in Lyon earlier in the month. Runs barefoot this time and, despite the draw, can still make her mark
  56. HAYASTAN DE ROSAN – Gave a reassuringly good account when 4th in a Class D here on 23 January. Will not be available at 44-1 this time but is not going to be as competitive either
  57. HARBOUR D’ORGERES – Moderate sort making first appearance since early-December. On back line and with shoes fitted is not about to spice things up
  58. HELICE DU TREZON – Useful mare but has been handed a tough draw and would be preferred barefoot in a lesser category
Summary: It took no time for JAVANAIS DELO (1) to get back in the winners’ circle following his autumn break; he has a particular fondness for these conditions and will be well-backed to win this. ISEO DE LOU (6) has been knocking at the door and deserves to be rewarded with victory one of these days. Ideally-positioned behind the car, GALEO D’AMARO (4) will be reconfigured and expected to make up for some bad luck in Paris just a week ago. ILLICO DU JAS (7) returns to racing barefoot and even though breaking wide ought to be respected.
    SELECTIONS
    JAVANAIS DELO (1) – ISEO DE LOU (6) – GALEO D’AMARO (4) – ILLICO DU JAS (7)
    C6 – PRIX D’ALASSIO – 2925m (a2m) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 26,000
  59. LOVELY FACE – Showed improvement when 4th to LOLLIPOP DU CEBE (2) in a 2700m Class D here 2.5 weeks ago, but still has more to find
  60. LOLLIPOP DU CEBE – Impressive winner of a 2700m Class D here 2.5 weeks ago. Is unbeaten at the venue and the hat-trick is not out of the question
  61. L’AVENIR – Returns to racing left-handed after finishing 6th of 8 in a Bordeaux Class D early this month but still has no realistic chance
  62. LIVINIO FLAC – 4 times a winner in 10 Cagnes starts. Missed out by little to LIKALETO DE WALLIS (7) her earlier in the month. Will be fully fit by now and should again play an active role
  63. LEGOLAS – Starts for the first time since running 3rd, a place ahead of LOULOU DES OUBEAUX (8), in a Bordeaux Class D on Boxing Day. Is unlikely to repeat but is still worth monitoring
  64. LEADER DES RIOULTS – Tough element that appears to be nearing his best. Gave a good account at Saint-Galmier 10 days ago and, while not a priority, is still worth keeping an eye on
  65. LIKALETO DE WALLIS – Fine, consistent campaigner that tenaciously secured a 2700m Class D here on 7 February. Runs barefoot again and even in the day’s company still looks a player
  66. LOULOU DES OUBEAUX – Runner-up in Toulouse last month before prepping at Maure-de-Bretagne on 8 January. Returns to racing barefoot, has been entrusted to Paul Ploquin for the first time, and winning this would be no surprise
  67. LE REVE D’OLMEN – Seen more often than not over shorter but did win his sole start under these conditions. Will, however, need to improve on latest run here
  68. LAGO DE PERVENCHE – Has just the one race in him since the spell but has bags of ability and, shod to preference, will be expected to fill one of 3 spaces on the podium
  69. LATINO BEJI – Fine servant but has significantly better references under the saddle and can be passed over
  70. LATINA QUICK – Talented mare that has raced and placed in superior company. Has reasons for recent clinkers and can be brought back into the fold. Chance
  71. L’ESPOIR – Debuts at the venue after disappointing in Paris just over a month ago. Won his only start when sporting 4 pads but still seems to be out of his depth
  72. LORD JULRY – Races barefoot after being conditioned at Saint-Galmier 10 days ago. Has not once been beaten when barefoot and applied, but takes on better and looks more a minor place chance this time
Summary: A relatively open affair this, but preference still goes to LOULOU DES OUBEAUX (8) who has endured a couple of knocks this winter. He races barefoot after having prepped at Maure-de-Bretagne and is in with a realistic shout of picking up his first victory for 14 months. LATINA QUICK (12) should not be condemned for last month’s disappointment and should find Cagnes to her liking. Easy to like in the day’s configuration, LAGO DE PERVENCHE (10) will be no pushover. LOLLIPOP DU CEBE (2) has won 3 of 5 this term, most recently over 2700m here, and is not without a chance of getting her nose in front.
    SELECTIONS

    C7 – PRIX DE DEAUVILLE – 2925m (a2m) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 29,000
  73. KANTOR DU VIVIER – Picked up in December where he left off last summer, being eliminated in 2 straight, and has nothing to offer
  74. KITKO TEJY – Ran 2nd over 2700m here on 28 January before winning a Class E over 2150m, also here, 6 days later. Is less-performant over 2925m but is quite obviously at the top of his game and will not be going home empty-handed
  75. KISS D’EREVAN – Hardy individual that has enjoyed a productive run of form this winter. In marginally better company this time but still has the wherewithal to play a part
  76. KETMIE PRINCESSE – Returned to winning ways in Marseille a fortnight ago, securing a 2650m Class E. Takes on a superior lot this time and chances limited
  77. KOOKEY MELODY – 3rd at Marseille-Vivaux last month but failed to confirm here 2.5 weeks ago. Is plainly better than that and can play a prominent part if she stays in stride from one end of the race to the other
  78. KERNEL DE NUIT – Completely lost his way after imposing at Hyeres last August and needs to get his house in order
  79. KENDO JIEL – Returns to racing with pads after having been eliminated in a Class E over track and trip on 7 February. Is never far from faulting and others easier to trust
  80. KOUROUKA BLUE – Eliminated under these conditions just before Christmas but reassured at Marseille-Vivaux on 18 January. A repeat, however, seems improbable
  81. KALAGA DU CADRAN – Not once out of the frame in last 7 starts. Is clearly close to her race and even in this category looks a serious player
  82. KHERMES D’URZY – Serious trotter making first appearance for over 2 months. Presents fine Cagnes references but races shod and others preferred
  83. KANSAS QUICK – Useful element that prepped in an amateurs event over shorter here on 10 February. Is barefoot this time and, if focused, can make his presence felt
  84. KAICHA – Quality mare that consistently gives her best. Finished a place behind KALAGA DU CADRAN (9) here 2.5 weeks ago and looks a decent first-5 chance
  85. KEOPS TILLAYE – Made up for Bordeaux flop when 2nd in an Agen Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Has no particular liking for Cagnes though and can be ruled out
  86. KERRO DE HOUELLE – Mixes the good with the less good but ran solid 3rd in a Maure-de-Bretagne Class E on 8 February. Enjoys a terrific entry and Alexis Collette will be eager to capitalise
  87. KATINKA GEMA – Seldom gets her nose in front but otherwise regularly in the thick of things. Is new to the venue but will appreciate the even surface and, given the entry, is easy to like for the win
Summary: Back in business at Maure-de-Bretagne after a couple of lacklustre runs in good company at Vincennes, KERRO DE HOUELLE (14) should take well to the Cagnes profile and, well-engaged, can win this. KATINKA GEMA (15) has not been seen out since October but has nothing to prove at this level and Marc Sassier could not have wished for a better entry. KALAGA DU CADRAN (9) has made the frame in all 4 starts this winter and even though in marginally better company this time, still looks competitive for a place on the podium. Considerably better than her latest result would suggest, KOOKEY MELODY (5) is hard to fault when applied at Cagnes and should be taken seriously.
    SELECTIONS
    KERRO DE HOUELLE (14) – KATINKA GEMA (15) – KALAGA DU CADRAN (9) – KOOKEY MELODY (5)
    C8 – PRIX DE LA NORMANDIE – 2925m (a2m) – Class F – Harness – EUR € 29,000
  88. INES DE MAJEAN – Springs the occasional surprise but has been out of the picture in all 3 starts this winter and can be disregarded
  89. INDIANO JIM – Has done little of note since imposing at Les Sables-d’Olonne in August 2024 and is best left alone
  90. JAZZ BUROIS – Ran 4th in the pro division here late last month before winning a 2150m amateurs Class F here early this month. Less competitively-shod this time and is unlikely to shake things up
  91. JUP AND STAR – Redeemed himself when 3rd of 13 in a 2650m Marseille-Vivaux Class E a fortnight ago and, if still on the boil, can make first 5
  92. IBRA DE LOU – Seen more often than not in the amateur division these days, but ran 3rd of 11 in an Agen Class F early this month and, with form maintained, should not be far off the mark
  93. HEOL LORIETTES – Has 2 runs under his belt since the lengthy break, and will be barefoot for the occasion, but is still out of his depth
  94. INSERT DES MONTS – Has been a complete write-off for past 14 months and can be confidently ruled out
  95. JYTRACE DE HOUELLE – Has been firing on all cylinders this winter, most recently opening his Cagnes account in a 2700m Class E late last month and, with form maintained, can confirm
  96. JEWEL TOUCH – Has ample ability and goes over any trip but has yet to get into his stride this term and represents no more than a minor place prospect
  97. JAURESS DE CANI – Serious element that has been performing well in better company here this term. Is barefoot following his recent prep and can again go close
  98. JERICHO – Eliminated over 2150m here on 31 January but encouraged when 2nd in a Class F at Lyon-La Soie 2 weeks ago, and with stride in check can compete for a place in the frame
  99. JITANE VALLEE – Has been simply dynamic since last October. Is reunited with Theo Briand who won with him at Lyon-La Soie last November and looks main danger to JYTRACE DE HOUELLE (8)
Summary: The big hitters are to be found on the back row here, and most of the support will be headed the way of JYTRACE DE HOUELLE (8) who has been dynamic this winter. Alexis Collette is back in the bike and looks eminently capable of repeating. He will still be keeping a watchful eye on the terrifically-engaged JITANE VALLEE (12) who is always game, and a barefoot JAURESS DE CANI (10) who tends to be seen more often in a superior category. JERICHO (11) gives a good account of himself for the most part and his recent Lyon-La Soie run will have reassured connections.

C1 – PRIX DU MONT CHAUVET – 4600m (a3m) – TURF – Class 3 – Cross – EUR € 24,000

  1. JEREVIENDRAI – Two placed runs of late, the latter when 4th over the track and trip in a Class 3 cross-country chase on December 9th. Others seem better equipped
  2. JOB D’ETE – Ran well to be 3rd over 4100m at Pau in a Class 3 cross-country race on January 30th. Capable of making an impact
  3. IDEALRUADE – Two 6th placed runs of late, the latter over 4100m in a Class 3 cross-country on January 30th at Pau. Look for an alternative
  4. GRACIEUSE RODINO – Unplaced last time, a win before that over 4200m in a Class 3 chase at Maure-De-Bretagne on November 16th. Placed form in this code last year. Outside place chance
  5. CAPE OF LOVE – Placed on the last three starts, 2nd on the most recent over 4600m in a Class 3 cross-country at this track on December 9th. Ought to be thereabouts
  6. SATURNE PELEM – Unplaced on the last two runs, 2nd before that over 4600m in a Class 3 cross-country at this track on December 9th. Has work ahead
  7. LION KIRIKOU – Unplaced over hurdles last time, 2nd before that over 3900m at Machecoul in a Class 4 hurdle on November 11th. Tries this discipline for the first time and warrants respect
  8. HARCADIAN – Three unplaced efforts of late, failing to finish over 4900m in a Class 4 cross-country race at Durtal on February 1st. Unlikely to feature
  9. DESERT STORM – Unplaced last time, 3rd previously over 4100m in a Class 3 cross-country at Pau on January 23rd. Leading contender
Summary: DESERT STORM (9) was a decent third two runs back in a Class 3 cross-country at Pau in late January and is given the marginal vote ahead of LION KIRIKOU (7), who can be a live danger on his first attempt in this discipline. He ran well to be second over hurdles at Machecoul in November on his penultimate run. JOB D’ETE (2) is one to consider from an each-way perspective. He has been placed on the last two starts. CAPE OF LOVE (5) completes the shortlist.

    C2 – PRIX JACQUES GELIOT – 3550m (a2m1/4) – TURF – Claiming – Hurdles – EUR € 19,000
  10. MON POTE – Three unplaced runs this year, failing to complete the course over 3500m in a hurdle at Pau on February on January 8th. Others seem more likely to be involved
  11. OPTIMUS – Unplaced last time, 4th before that over 3400m in a Class 3 hurdle at Dieppe on August 31st. Enters calculations
  12. MANDATORY – Placed 4th over 3500m in a Grade 3 hurdle at Pise(ITA) on February 15th and a win before that in a claiming hurdle in January at Cagnes-Sur-Mer. Player
  13. HEART AND SOUL – Placed 2nd last time over this track and trip in a claiming hurdle on January 9th. One to consider each way
  14. CRIN DE LUNE – Failed to finish on the sole start over 3400m at Angers in a Class 4 hurdle on February 12th. Faces a stiff task
  15. ZUNDER – Three unplaced runs of late, the latest when failing to complete the course over 3300m in a Class 4 hurdle at Cagnes-Sur-Mer on December 15th. Has work to do
  16. CELTIC FURY – Unplaced last time, 4th before that over 3500m at Pau in a Class 2 hurdle on January 30th . Leading chance of scoring
  17. FULL GAZ – Made no show over 3400m at Angers on the one run in a Class 4 hurdle on February 12th. Vast progress needed to be involved
Summary: CELTIC FURY (7) was a solid fourth in a Class 2 hurdle at Pau in late January, and a repeat of that performance could be enough to see him score. The main danger may be MANDATORY (3), who finished fourth at Pisa (ITA) on his latest start in a Grade 3 hurdle earlier this month. OPTIMUS (2) posted a credible fourth in a Class 3 hurdle at Dieppe two runs back and can have a say in the outcome, while HEART AND SOUL (4) looks best of the rest.

  18. ASTALAVISTA – Finished 6th last time out over the track and trip in a Class 2 handicap hurdle on December 9th. Can be on the premises
  19. KOP DE BOULOGNE – Two unplaced runs this year, 7th on the latter over 3800m at Pau on February 8th in a handicap hurdle. Player
  20. IMAGINATION – Unplaced on the one run last year over 4600m in a Grade 3 chase on January 5th at Cagnes -Sur-Mer. Unlikely to threaten
  21. KRAZY GEGE – Two unplaced runs since a win over 3800m in a Class 3 chase at Segre on June 14th. Outside place contender
  22. IP UP – Placed 2nd last time over 3150m in a hurdle race at Ludlow (UK) on January 15th. Warrants consideration each-way
  23. KEYREINE DU SEUIL – Fair 3rd last time over 4400m in a Listed chase at Auteuil on October 13th, 2024. Three wins before that. Long absence to deal with but can be involved

Summary: KOP DE BOULOGNE (2) can bounce back after a couple of unplaced efforts at Pau this year. He is the tentative selection ahead of ASTALAVISTA (1), who ran well enough when sixth in a Class 2 handicap hurdle in early December at this track. IP UP (5) has her first start on French soli and is worth considering each-way. KEYREINE DU SEUIL (6) has a long absence to overcome, but can be on the premises if fit to go.
