A field of six has assembled for the William Hill Lingfield Derby Trial, with Aidan O’Brien’s Isaac Newton the sole Irish contender.
Charlie Appleby’s Maho Bay is the likely favourite and comes into the race unbeaten in two runs, including a Newmarket novice on his seasonal debut in April.
He is joined by Andrew Balding’s A Taste Of Glory and Jane Chapple-Hyam’s Balzac, who was third in the Listed Blue Riband Trial at Epsom last month.
William Haggas’ Maltese Cross is a notable contender following his victory at Newbury, with Ralph Beckett’s Bay Of Brillance making his seasonable debut in the race after a fruitful juvenile term.
In the William Hill Oaks Trial a small field of five have been declared, among them two from the Ballydoyle stable.
Cameo, fifth in the Park Express on her first run of the season, is joined by stablemate Bloom, third in the Salsabil when seen at Navan in April.
The unbeaten Romantic Symphony from the Appleby-Godolphin team has impressed in her short career to date, with Balding’s Prizeland and Charlie Johnston’s Amora Queen the other contenders.
Also on the card is the Group Three William Hill Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes, where Balding’s Copacabana Sands and William Knight’s Royal Velvet head a field of eight.
