Social Symbol the one to follow at Salisbury

Fine Form
Social Symbol’s sl – 3.14

ease in grade should prove profitable for Simon and Ed Crisford in the British EBF Joan Snow Memorial Conditions Stakes at Salisbury.
The Violence juvenile has been operating at Listed level and above since a winning debut at Ripon in June and has been a consistent sort for the father-and-son partnership.
Fourth in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot was followed by another in the Rose Bowl Stakes behind subsequent Gimcrack winner Arapaho Gold in July.
He finished third in a Listed race in Deauville before occupying the same spot in the Sirenia Stakes at Kempton earlier this month.
This drop in class could be just what is needed to get his nose back in front before another tilt at a higher level.
Another horse dropping in grade in a bid to get her first victory on the board is Kevin Philippart De Foy’s
Maldives SL – 4.24
in the first division of the Barbara Snow 60th Birthday Celebration Handicap.
She cost owners Amo Racing 2,900,000 guineas, but the Camelot filly has yet to fire on three career starts so far.
A second on debut at Yarmouth brought plenty of promise and Maldives immediately climbed into Listed and Group Two company for her last two appearances.
She rounded up the field in the Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket and only beat one rival in the Ribblesdale at the royal meeting, but she has not been seen since. Maldives should appreciate the steep decline in class on her handicap debut in Wiltshire.
In the opening Salisbury Annual Badgeholders ‘Bluestocking’ British EBF Novice Stakes, Juddmonte’s big-money purchase
Yamana SL – 1.30
makes her debut for Ralph Beckett.
Bought for 1,500,000 guineas, the Frankel filly will be in the hands of retained Juddmonte rider Colin Keane, which is another positive on her first racecourse start.
At Nottingham,
Thi Qar NO – 3.08
can put her near-misses to bed in the EBF Oh So Sharp Maiden Fillies’ Stakes feature.
John and Thady Gosden’s Mehmas juvenile has been beaten by a neck on both of her starts to date, with smart types Lex Victoria and Miss Miniver taking the spoils.
Both winners have entries for the Group One bet365 Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket next month, which shows how well Thi Qar, who also has a ticket for that top-tier race, had performed.
The Clarehaven duo appear keen for her to get off the mark, especially with a rating of 84, before potentially tackling elite rivals.
Pride Of Toledo NO – 1.58
can return to winning ways for Clive Cox in the Racedays For £9 At Nottingham Racecourse Nursery Handicap.
A winner on his second start at Salisbury in July, he produced another fine performance in the Harry’s Half Million By Goffs at the Ebor Festival, which was dominated by three-time Group One winner Sun Goddess.
He was fifth on his last start in a nursery at Doncaster, but a mark of 85 feels low for the No Nay Never colt and he can defy top weight for a second career success.
Bill The Bull NC – 6.00
is an interesting entry on the all-weather at Newcastle for Adam Kirby.
After coming fourth in a blanket finish in the National Stakes, Kirby’s stable star picked up his first triumph in his next appearance at Bath.
He has struggled to fire in competitive contests since, including at Yarmouth last time out, but a switch to the Tapeta could reinvigorate the juvenile in the Free Race Replays On attheraces.com Nursery Handicap.
Night Of Gold NC – 5.30
can provide Billy Loughnane with yet another winner in the Free Tips Daily On attheraces.com EBF Maiden Stakes.
Trained by George Boughey, he steps up to a mile, which based on pedigree should be appreciated, and should improve following his third on debut.
Over the jumps at Southwell, Jonjo and AJ O’Neill’s
Gaelic Rambler SO – 3.25
will aim to back up his recent chase victory in the Jodie Standing’s Point-To-Point Recruits Novices’ Hurdle.
