Summary: THE SHADOW (6) is far better than her under-par latest run and with Maxime Guyon in the irons, she can be expected to bounce back to her best form. MARLOWE (1) is in excellent form at present and with additional weight off the back, he is well treated and can go back to back. FREJA (5) won with a bit in hand last time out and now with her confidence boosted, she is likely to be ultra competitive again. VICTORY CALL (3) is a model of consistency and continues to hold form that is good enough to see her win. She is another who warrants respect.

  1. LUNE DU DOUET – Unremarkable filly that struggles even in the claiming division these days and, barefoot or not, is unlikely to shake things up
  2. LOVE ME BERRY – Sent for a rest last September after imposing at Enghien. Ran 2nd at 32-1 on re-entry in a Laval Class E a fortnight ago and must be taken more seriously this time
  3. LADY MAJOR – Mare with a good turn of foot and has been kept ticking over. Is not easy to knock when barefoot and and the draw will do her chances no harm. First 5
  4. LYRIDE ORLOVE – Makes first appearance since finishing unplaced at Nantes last November. Hind shoes off for return but others still easier to back
  5. LUMIERE BLUE – Took no time re-establishing her credentials when making short work of a Bordeaux Class D on comeback in late-January. Starts from the 5-slot and will be expected to apply the pressure on LA MOME DE CAHOT (8)
  6. LALOU D’AMOUR – Ran 2nd at Vincennes in late-January but failed to confirm when eliminated at Graignes 3 weeks later. Was still in contention that day and the shorter trip might prove just the ticket
  7. LEANE DU PARC – Capable on a good day but has not had many of those recently. Imposed over course and distance during the summer when barefoot and cannot be ruled out
  8. LA MOME DE CAHOT – Ran 2nd at Cabourg in early-January but lost her action at Nantes 2 weeks later. Won over course and distance early last season and, with application, can keep her perfect Caen record intact
  9. LYMKA PRINCESSE – Capricious mare that has failed to make any impact for past year and is not about to begin now
  10. LEGENDE DU BOULAY – Modest mare that has done nothing noteworthy for some time and is not about to change her ways
  11. LILOU – Surprise 5th, at 115-1, in a Graignes Class E 11 days ago, however a repeat seems most improbable
  12. LEONIE D’AIMTE – Last of 10 on re-entry in a Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 15 February. Has been reconfigured for the first time and although not a priority, is still capable of playing a small part
Summary: She may not be the easiest of horses to use, nor is she ideally-drawn, but LA MOME DE CAHOT (8) is hard to fault when focused and has previously won over course and distance. She has been afforded ample time to recalibrate following her Nantes elimination, returns to racing with pads, and Martin Goetz will be eager to put things right. Better-positioned behind the car, LUMIERE BLUE (5) got straight down to business in Bordeaux, on her first start for 3 months, and will be no easy touch. Starting just to her outside, LALOU D’AMOUR (6) gives Caen a shot after faulting at Graignes and in current form is easy to recommend. LOVE ME BERRY (2) has better references racing left-handed but she made a fine comeback and is hard to ignore.

  13. MADAME DES LOYAUX – Five career starts. Five career eliminations. Is first-time barefoot but still not a concern
  14. MANON DU VASSET – Totally out of the picture in both starts to date. Unraced since late-October and makes her monte bow with little to offer
  15. MANON FRAZEENNE – Eliminated in both starts to date. Has not been seen since early-November and can expect to have few takers
  16. MAUVE DE FELLIERE – Has shown promise but has yet to deliver. Returns to racing clockwise after a much-needed conditioner and will not be far off the mark if she stays in stride
  17. MILLONGA VRIE – Eliminated in all 3 starts to date, in both codes. Makes first monte appearance of the year though and should not be far from the action if Sebastien Pasquier keeps her focused
  18. MARCH OF THE QUEEN – Modest individual that has shown little aptitude for either discipline and can be passed over
  19. MALICIEUSE D’EYMY – Thrashed at Nantes on monte debut mid-January, was quickly eliminated at Maure-de-Bretagne next time, and is unlikely to cause an upset
  20. MA ROBERTA – Twice 5th in 4 starts at the venue, but was eliminated on comeback at Graignes, and in this company will struggle to make her mark
  21. MOLITA – Takes to the monte discipline for first time after having reassured under harness in Bordeaux last week. Top jockey aboard and is not incapable of winning this
  22. MIMI D’AUVILLIER – No closer than 4th in 5 monte starts. Will be competitively-shod for the first time though, and is unlikely to spring any surprises on first start since mid-December
  23. MAGALIE DU DOLLAR – Takes on a less difficult task than she faced in Paris a month back. Returns to racing right-handed as she was when 2nd at Angers, and is easy to fancy for the win
  24. MARYLIN SAUTONNE – Returns to the discipline, and to racing shod, after an unthreatening performance in a Mauquenchy Class E last week. Ran 3rd on sole ridden outing, however a repeat seems improbable
  25. MAYTIKA DU VAL – Barring Cabourg elimination, has hardly put a foot wrong all season. Is padded for Caen bow and looks good enough to make the frame once more
  26. MAESTRIA DE CHENU – Takes to the monte code for first time, having failed to convince under harness at Laval 10 days ago. Races shod, with Clement Frecelle in the saddle on this occasion, and will be one to watch
  27. MO CUISHLE DESTHER – Imposed at first time of asking but has been less performant since. Has one race in her since the break, will be first-time barefoot and, considering the entry, must be afforded respect
Summary: MAGALIE DU DOLLAR (11) has taken well to the monte code and has pleased in both starts this term. She will be partnered for the first time by Alexandre Abrivard who can be forgiven for feeling bullish. The complicated MOLITA (9) makes her ridden debut after reassuring in Bordeaux last week and could just prove something of a revelation. MAYTIKA DU VAL (13) has started to make good on her promise and even though sporting pads this time still looks a player. Also fitted with pads for the first time, MAUVE DE FELLIERE (4) has a race under her belt and is back under the saddle with a good hand to play.

  28. NO ONE DE SOUVELLE – Qualified in 1’19’8 here last October and faces a stiff test on career bow
  29. NIKITA DE MONCHEL – Left a good impression in qualification here when posting 1’18’4, but was unsupported when eliminated on Argentan debut on 17 January, and can be passed over
  30. NINA DE VANDEL – Well-beaten in November debut and again on comeback at Laval a fortnight ago. Paul Ploquin at the helm this time but still no more than a minor place prospect
  31. NORMA CASTELLE – Eliminated in both last year, then eliminated on comeback at Pontchateau on 15 February, and is not about to upset the status quo
  32. NOUMEA DEUGE – Would have finished 4th on debut in an Angers Class F early last month had she kept her action together. Cannot be considered a leading contender but, if behaved, can pick up a minor place cheque
  33. NO LIMIT ERCA – Has yet to show any particular flair for the discipline and will first need to establish her credentials
  34. NUIT DE PAQUES – Ran modest 6th at Argentan first time out and was disqualified at Graignes on 22 February. No chance
  35. NITRO DEUGE – Courageous 5th in a 2150m Argentan Class F a month back, but still has a lot more to find
  36. NORMA DE CAHOT – Debuted nicely in December but unseen until coming 7th of 9 finishers in a Laval Class F a fortnight ago. Will have progressed for the race and should not be underestimated
  37. NINA PRIMO – Left little doubt about her potential when 2nd to a Philippe Allaire-trained filly at Cabourg in early-December. Has been off the track since but, sporting modified shoeing, looks a serious proposition
  38. NEW LIFE – Should not be too hastily-condemned for faulting early in a Laval Class E last week and can make the frame if she stays in stride from one end of the race to the other
  39. NANUCHKA – Fast-finishing 2nd in a 2150m Cagnes Class F on 10 February, first time out. Will not be bothered by the change of direction and with a top pilot reining will be afforded every chance. Claim
  40. NIKITA DES ILES – Pleased in first 2, including over course and distance, but has not been seen out since 22 December. Leading driver in the bike though and cannot be discounted
  41. NAKOA D’OURVILLE – Gave a fine account of herself despite being eliminated at Graignes on 9 February. Is unlikely to get her nose in front but, with application, can start to make good on her promise
Summary: Although having qualified here last summer, NANUCHKA (12) debuted smartly on the Riviera last month and in the hands of Yoann Lebourgeois can impose this time. NINA PRIMO (10) has not been seen out since her own good debut at Cabourg in December but she sports from pads this time and can get straight back down to business. Solid in 2 before being eliminated at Laval a week ago, NEW LIFE (11) should not be far off the mark if she stays trotting. Clearly capable but still rather complicated, NAKOA D’OURVILLE (14) races with 4 pads for the first time which may just be key to her redemption.

  42. MIDNIGHT CHENU – Ran decent 4th at Angers on comeback in January before faulting at Agen. Shoes fitted this time and cannot be considered a player
  43. MADO – 22 races and has yet to lose her maiden label. Has been pleasing of late but has more to find in order to play any kind of role
  44. MISS GRAIGNES – Emphatically opened her 2026 account in an Argentan Class F a month ago. Is ideally-placed behind the car and can repeat
  45. MY QUEEN – Ran 2nd in a Laval Class F on 4 February but was less performant 3 weeks later. Has been reconfigured for his first real objective of the year however and can compete for a place in the frame this time
  46. MOMINETTE – Takes to the harness code for just 2nd time in her career. Here for reasons of conditioning though and can be passed over
  47. MYCENES D’ELA – Starts for the first time since losing her maiden tag in a Vire Class F on 16 November, but will be fitted with 4 pads for the occasion and should not be overlooked
  48. MAIA D’ATOUT – Has just the one blip on her harness formcard, and won over 2450m here last October. Has been showing her form at Mauquenchy and will be no shrinking violet
  49. MUSE D’EURVAD – Showed promise in 2025 but has not raced since being eliminated at Chartres in November and even though reconfigured still has limited chances
  50. MIMI CHARMEUSE – Tricky filly but has shown significant potential. Has previously won over 2450m here and even though having pulled a rough number, is still a leading player
  51. MISS MOUROTAISE – Showed improvement when 4th of 12 in a Graignes Class F 11 days ago. Is confirmed racing clockwise and is worth a second look
  52. MELISSA MATCH – Has not been seen out since completing the double at Agon-Coutainville last August and best to keep one’s powder dry
  53. MARY PICKFORD – Moderate element making first appearance since last July and is going to need the race
Summary: Back in the monte code this season after ending 2025 with some disappointing harness runs, MISS GRAIGNES (3) flew up at Argentan a month back and, with Paul Ploquin reining, has every chance of doubling up. The complicated but talented MIMI CHARMEUSE (9) has already won at the venue and despite the draw still looks the main threat. Yet to disappoint when barefoot, MAIA D’ATOUT (7) returns to the venue of her sole victory and will be no soft touch. Reliability may not be her strong suit but MY QUEEN (4) is well-positioned in front, is competitively-shod for the first time, and could pleasantly surprise.

  54. IDO MENDY – Has not been seen under the saddle since placing at Nantes in November, but is being aimed too high this time
  55. JULIUS DU THEIL – Previously a very good sort, and has won under these conditions, but has struggled for some time and can be ignored
  56. JORKY D’ALOUETTE – Was en route to great things before being injured in February 2024, but returned victoriously, will have progressed for the run, and will be well-backed to repeat
  57. JANEIRO TURGOT – Moderate type making just 2nd start since last summer. Will need the run and would have better prospects racing barefoot
  58. IVANHOE JARZEEN – Regularly a case of all-or-nothing and latest effort should not be taken at face value. Has never got around Caen unscathed, in either code, but form is not in question and Andrea Roussel will be determined to prove the point
  59. INTREPIDE NEMO – Has acquitted himself well since returning to racing barefoot. Finished 3rd, a place behind JEDEO DES VAUX (9), in a Class G at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 15 February and cannot be ruled out
  60. IDEAL DE CHAHAINS – Was still in contention in a 2700m Class F at Lyon-La Soie early last month before being eliminated. Has never excelled at Caen but is plainly in good condition and is easy to like for a first-5 payout
  61. JACKPOT DES BORDES – Has raced just 3 times in the discipline, all to no end, and will not be troubling the judge
  62. JEDEO DES VAUX – In the frame in 3 of last 4 monte starts, most recently 2nd in a Class G at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 15 February. Is unlikely to win this but is always game and can pick up some prizemoney
  63. JULIANA BREIL – Won for the first time under the saddle in a Vincennes Class E in late-December. Pleased under harness 2 weeks ago and returns to the ridden code with a good hand to play
  64. JACADI D’ARGILIN – Back under the saddle following a pair of lacklustre runs. Has previously placed under harness here and, although not a player, can still play a small role
  65. JIL – Is not devoid of ability but is as tricky as they come. Is reunited with Alexandre Abrivard for the occasion but others still easier to trust
  66. JUSQUIAME – Useful for the most part but has not been seen out since late-November and may just need the race
  67. INDIANA TESS – Won 2 on the trot before coming 3rd, padded, at Laval. Is barefoot this time and, although in marginally better company on this occasion, still looks competitively well in
  68. JIPEBE – Ran good 2nd at Cordemais before failing to deliver in Paris. Has been reconfigured for return to a track he has form at, and can figure prominently
Summary: Almost 2 years on the sidelines, JORKY D’ALOUETTE (3) nevertheless got straight down to business on his return to competition and, yet to realise his full potential, will be expected to confirm. Paul Ploquin will still be mindful of JULIANA BREIL (10) who opened her monte account at Vincennes in December, and IVANHOE JARZEEN (5) whose latest performance can be banished to the history books. Terrifically-engaged at the limit of earnings, JIPEBE (15) sports modified shoeing and ran 2nd last time here.

  69. KELAS – Hardy trotter with nothing to prove at this level. Is not the easiest to handle but is plainly in race-mode this time and with application can open his 2026 account
  70. KHEOPS SAINT CLAIR – Returns to the provinces after coming 2nd in a 2100m Vincennes claimer 3 weeks ago. Is decently-positioned behind the car but still appears to be taking on too much
  71. KAPITEN DU MELEUC – Enjoyed a fruitful summer 2025 but subsequently went off the boil and even though reconfigured, is still not an obvious choice
  72. KAPORAL KADESH – Put away after imposing at Nuillé-sur-Vicoin last October. Stays shod for re-entry and can be confidently passed over
  73. KING STALLION – Very disappointing in 2025. Sports front pads for return to competition and will have few friends
  74. KIBRILLE MONTAVAL – Put in a fine showing to come 3rd in a 2400m Amiens Class E on 21 February. Has a lot going for him here and can again finish close
  75. KER MIEL – Makes Caen bow after securing a 2750m Toulouse Class E 2 weeks ago. Starts in front and can make a big splash if he takes to the new conditions
  76. KAISER DE CESNY – Not without merit but out of the picture in last 3 starts and his Caen record is nothing to write home about
  77. KASPER FAC – Fine trotter making first start since last September. Races shod and best to keep one’s powder dry
  78. KING OF RACE – Unexceptional sort that ran 6th of 10 in a 2800m Chartres Class F last Sunday and is not about to set off any fireworks
  79. KYMJO DE BELFOND – Not easy to handle but has ample ability. Ran 5th on comeback, a place behind KADOR D’OURVILLE (13), in a Class E at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 15 February. Is unlikely to create an upset but will not be available at 334-1 either
  80. KOMAN – Never far from faulting but has buckets of talent. Held his own to run 4th in a Mauquenchy Class F 3 weeks ago, appears to be close to his race, and the Caen profile should suit him to a tee
  81. KADOR D’OURVILLE – Has done nothing but improve since the turn of the year, latterly coming 3rd in a Class E at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 15 February. On back line here but with Yoann Lebourgeois reining cannot be discounted
  82. KID SMILE – Kicked the year off in good order, most recently dominating a Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel mid-February. Takes on a better lot this time, and starts on back line, but still has the wherewithal to finish in the mix
  83. KREIZ DE PRAT GUEN – Serious type but has just the one race under his belt this term and would be preferred barefoot
  84. KIRWAN THORIS – Useful on a good day but made his re-entry just last week and with front shoes fitted is unlikely to shake things up
  85. KAZAN DE VANDEL – Goes barefoot following his Laval re-entry a month back. Is regularly in the thick of things at this level and can get in on the action
  86. KHEOPS BOURBON – Faces first goal of 2026 after a trio of return runs. Has finished runner-up in 3 of 4 starts here, is barefoot for the occasion, but the draw will do him no favours
Summary: Shod to preference for his first objective of the new year, KELAS (1) has had the benefit of 3 return runs, came 2nd on his sole appearance at the venue, and even though starting on the inside, still looks the one to beat. Cedric Terry will nonetheless be keeping a watchful eye on KER MIEL (7) who has turned a corner since starting to race in his current configuration. Nicely-positioned on the front line, KIBRILLE MONTAVAL (6) has twice gone close recently and is not about to disappoint. The complicated KOMAN (12) is less favourably-drawn but he showed at Mauquenchy last month that he is not far off his best. KAZAN DE VANDEL (17) is in competition-mode this time and, despite having pulled a tough number, is not to be underestimated.

  87. KELLE BLEUE – Useful element but has not been seen out since running 3rd of 16 in a Class F at Le Croise-Laroche last September. Shoes fitted and no danger
  88. KANELLE – Springs the occasional surprise but has looked ordinary of late and will be shod for the occasion
  89. JOY CAPTAIN – Encouraged at Mauquenchy in January before failing to deliver in Paris 2 weeks ago and with shoes fitted has no possible chance
  90. JESABELLE DU JOUR – Not entirely without merit but eliminated in last 4. Sports 4 pads for the occasion and can get a look in if Frederic Heon manages to keep her mind on the game
  91. JOCASTE DAIRPET – Beaten only by a very good horse in a Class E at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 15 February. Yoann Lebourgeois in the bike this time and, with form maintained, can again figure prominently
  92. KID LEA DRIVER – Produced some good performances last year but has yet to come to hand this term, and latest efforts do nothing to inspire confidence
  93. KAPELLA VET – Serious for the most part but has not raced since last October and would be preferred barefoot
  94. KANELLE STAR – Put a quartet of eliminations behind her to come 2nd in a Vincennes Class D on 8 February. Trainer in the bike this time and will not be far from the action if she stays trotting
  95. KETTY ANGOT – Ran 2nd here last autumn but has twice failed to confirm and will be shod this time
  96. KLASSIKA DIDALO – Returns to racing barefoot after her Nantes re-entry run 3 weeks ago. Will be shod as she was when imposing at Strasbourg during the autumn and should not be entirely ruled out
  97. KARVINA D’ELA – Encountered no opposition en route to victory in a Nantes Class E 12 days ago. Has previously imposed here and, although unlikely to double her money, can nevertheless finish close
  98. JADE D’ERABLE – Unbeaten in 4 Caen starts but has been unexceptional lately and with shoes fitted will have nothing to offer
  99. KLASSICA BLEUE – Never far from losing her action but is otherwise a tough nut to crack. Was denied a run in Paris last time and Alexandre Abrivard will be out to set the record straight
  100. JAZERANE – Dependably performant mare facing first goal of the year after having been conditioned at Machecoul early last month. Won her only start at the venue and Alexis Collette will be eager to add another to her tally
  101. KENNEDY STREET – Has blotted her copybook just the once since the autumn. Ran 2nd on lone Caen start and looks thoroughly capable of contesting the finish
Summary: Most unlucky at Vincennes in late-December, KLASSICA BLEUE (13) was subsequently given a short rest, but returns to the track in race-mode and the Caen profile should be right up her street. It won’t be all plain sailing though considering how the ideally-engaged KENNEDY STREET (15) has been comporting herself lately. Also benefiting from a good entry, JAZERANE (14) will be barefoot for her 2nd run back, just as she was when victorious here last September. KARVINA D’ELA (11) got back in the winners’ circle at Nantes recently and Paul Ploquin is a worthy replacement for Eric Raffin.

  102. JAPAROV LIRE – Trotter of considerable ability that was eliminated on Caen debut last October. Races shod this time but starts in front and is unlikely to let the side down
  103. GOELAND DE JANZE – Has been rather disappointing for much of the winter but his ability is not in question, and it is just a question of time before he gets back in the game
  104. JUST A BOY D’ALESA – Serious sort starting for first time since last July. Is confirmed here but races shod and will have other ambitions
  105. HASARD – Has been showing a different side to himself under the saddle recently, and will be barefoot this time, but chances still limited
  106. JOYCE DELTO – Hardy mare whose comeback at Agen did not go unnoticed. Debuts at the venue, quite clearly in fine shape, and will be expected to contest the finish
  107. LEMON TREE – Quality individual dropping down the category-ladder after a pair of re-entry runs. Should appreciate this flat surface and from the front row has every chance of getting his nose in front
  108. KOOL DES CHAMPS – Gives a good account of himself for the most part under harness. Is new to Caen but boasts solid right-handed form, and from the front row can give this a good go
  109. IVRIG VIKING – Eliminated at Vincennes on 17 January but left a fine impression nevertheless. Enjoys a good entry here and, with stride in check, can finish close
  110. FILOU SMILING – Has been struggling at all levels of competition, most recently in the claiming division. Has placed in 2 of 3 here, and will be barefoot, but others still easier to back
  111. INFINIMENT CITRON – Fine trotter with nothing to prove in this category but will race shod for comeback and best to hold off
  112. JEANNETTE PRIORY – Tough element with fine right-handed references. Starts for the first time since Boxing Day, but will be barefoot, and on good behaviour will be no pushover
  113. GUEVARA DU PONT – No longer the horse he once was. Makes first appearance since September and will race shod. Disregard
  114. GOLD MENCOURT – Capable on a good day but was trounced at Vincennes in late-December. Has not been seen since, failed to make any impact in last 5 starts at the venue, and is unlikely to change his ways
  115. JOYNER SPORT – Has not been seen out since October 2024. Stays shod and will need the run
  116. GOAL STAR – Disappointing on the whole over the winter. Returns to racing shod and has nothing to offer
  117. HIDALGO DES NOES – Last of 11 on comeback in a Vincennes Gr.3 last Saturday. Is shod to preference on this occasion, and imposed last time at Caen, but cannot be considered a priority
  118. GRANIT MESLOIS – Quality veteran making first appearance since November 2024 and is not about to shake things up
  119. FILWELL – Top-flight trotter coming to Caen for a change of scenery and would be preferred in the other code
Summary: Well-regarded but often asked to take on too much, LEMON TREE (6) enjoys a very good entry on the front line here, will be competitively-shod, with Yoann Lebourgeois in the bike, and can impose for the first time since December 2024. JOYCE DELTO (5), though, left quite the impression on her recent re-entry and makes her Caen debut with legitimate ambition. JEANNETTE PRIORY (11) may be 25m worse off but she has won 2 of her last 3 clockwise starts and must be taken seriously. Although eliminated in his last 2, IVRIG VIKING (8) showed his form at Vincennes, has been reconfigured for the occasion, and with application should not disappoint. KOOL DES CHAMPS (7) is back under harness after being trounced in the other code, will be barefoot this time, and the 25m head-start will do his prospects no disservice.
