C1 – GD PRIX DE L’AGGLO.D’AGEN – GP DYNAVENA – 2625m (a1m1/2) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 39,000 |
1. IDOLE D’OURVILLE – 5th of 11 finishers, at 38/1, in a 2150m Enghien Class E last week. Not the most generous horses here and looks out of her depth
2. FORREST GUMP SET – Complicated element that finished a reassuring 2nd of 10 in a 2550m Beaumont Class D 10 days ago. Fitted with 4 pads for first time and will not be far off the mark if Frédéric Clozier keeps him focused
3. ICARE DU BERYL – Produced 3 solid Beaumont efforts before faulting in a 3000m Borély Class E last Friday. On front line this time but others still preferred
4. FIRST DE CHOISEL – Encouraged at Cazaubon-Barbotan before finishing 8th of 10, behind FORREST GUMP SET (2), in a 2550m Beaumont Class D 10 days ago, and will have few friends
5. FIFTY – Sanctioned in last 2, latterly a 2600m Saint-Galmier Class E a week ago. Has otherwise been in good shape, but appears to be biting off more than he can chew
6. IVRAM – Pleasant 5th of 11 in a 2750m Angouleme Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Is proven here but others still easier to back
7. HULK DE TILLARD – Runner-up twice before finishing close 3rd of 10 in a 2600m Saint-Galmier Class E a week ago. Is plainly close to his race and can be expected to finish in thick of things
8. GENERAL MITCHELL – Disappointing in last 2, most recently 11th of 15 in a 2900m Challans Class E 10 days ago, and can be ruled out
9. HAPPY DU BOIS – Produced 3 frame-finishes before trailing in 16th of 18 in a 2825m Durtal Class F 10 days ago. Must be excused that run and, from front row, can give this a good go. First 5
10. FLYING DEVIL – Sanctioned in 3 before coming 4th of 14 in a 2800m Castéra-Verduzan Class E last week. Ideally-entered and, with front shoes off, can play a small role if focused
11. GOLD D’OCCAGNES – Unremarkable 6th of 10, behind FORREST GUMP SET (2), in a 2550m Beaumont Class D 10 days ago. On 2nd line and is unlikely to shake things up
12. ENTRE AMIS – 9th of 12 in a 2550m Beaumont Class A 10 days ago. Has decent Agen references and even with extra 25m to travel, can finish in the mix
13. HAPPYJO DE LIGNY – 5th of 11, a place behind GIROLAMO (14), in a 2300m Borély Class B on 11 October. On back line but still has the wherewithal to win this
14. GIROLAMO – 4th of 11 in a 2300m Borély Class B on 11 October, finishing ahead of HAPPYJO DE LIGNY (13). Incurs the penalty but drops back in category and has every chance of imposing this time
15. GARDNER SHAW – 10th of 12 when preparing for this, behind ENTRE AMIS (12), in a 2550m Beaumont Class A 10 days ago. Has nothing to prove in this category and looks competitive for the win
Summary: It has been a whopping 900 days since GIROLAMO (14) last got his nose in front, but he has clearly started to make moves and even from the back line, can get that particular monkey off his back. He will be opposed though by second-row starters HAPPYJO DE LIGNY (13), who has 2 races under his belt since the summer break, and a barefoot GARDNER SHAW (15) who will be partnered by Alexandre Abrivard for the first time. 25m better off and as dependably-performant as they come, HULK DE TILLARD (7) has never finished closer than 5th here but in current form is very easy to like.

C2 – PRIX D’AGEN – 2625m (a1m1/2) – Class F Amateur Drivers Race – Harness – EUR € 7,000 |
1. INDIANA DI PALBA – 8th of 14, to IS GOOD DU JAYLE (5), in a 2575m amateurs Class G here mid-September and will again have little to contribute
2. HELFIE CHANTEINS – Unremarkable mare that ran 7th of 16 in a 2400m Montauban amateurs Class G last Sunday. On front row but still unlikely to cause an upset
3. IMPERIAL ROUSSAC – Good, consistent campaigner that ran 4th to IS GOOD DU JAYLE (5) in a 2575m amateurs Class G here mid-September. Starts in front and while unlikely to repeat, should nevertheless acquit himself competitively
4. HYBRIDE CASTELETS – Last of 15 in a 2500m Royan amateurs Class G last week. Has been out of sorts for some time and has no possible chance
5. IS GOOD DU JAYLE – Won 2 on the trot before coming 3rd of 15 in a 2500m Royan amateurs Class G a week ago. Enjoys an excellent entry on front line and Camille Langlois will be keen to make hay. First 5
6. FORUM – Last but one, behind GIANA DE CAZOULENE (8), in a 2400m Beaumont amateurs Class G 10 days ago. Has not finished closer than 7th in last 9 starts and can be confidently disregarded
7. FLEUR D’ACADIE – Ran 5th to GIANA DE CAZOULENE (8) in race of reference before finishing 9th of 14, behind FANTINE BRILLOUARD (9), in a 2800m Castéra-Verduzan Class E last week. Has solid amateur credentials and looks a major player
8. GIANA DE CAZOULENE – Beat a host of these in a 2575m amateurs event here mid-September before running 5th of 10 in a 2400m Beaumont amateurs Class F 10 days ago, and is in with a realistic chance of imposing
9. FANTINE BRILLOUARD – Has merit but out of picture in last 4, latterly a 2800m Castéra-Verduzan Class E 9 days ago and, barefoot or not, must get her house in order
10. FEELING MESLOIS – 3rd in race of reference before given a freshener at Nuillé-sur-Vicoin 9 days ago. Not a priority but is barefoot for the occasion and should not be ignored
11. GARIFAN DE CASTROU – Last but one, when prepping for this, in a 2425m Montauban Class F on Sunday. Shoes on again however and will pose no danger
12. GENTLE DREAM – Drops back to amateur category after running 7th of 11 in a 2750m Angouleme Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Gets on well with Léa Lizée and will be competitive for a place on the podium
13. FIRST DE BRETAGNE – 7th of 14, to GIANA DE CAZOULENE (8), in a 2575m Class F here on 15 September. Will have come on for the run and improvement anticipated
14. HONORE LE FOL – Sanctioned in a 2425m Montauban Class F on Sunday. Goes as well in amateur division as professional ranks and has never failed to deliver when racing shod here. Chance
Summary: A tough nut to crack when barefoot and focused, GIANA DE CAZOULENE (8) was most impressive here mid-September and in similar form, can prevail over the in-form, and Agen-loving, HONORE LE FOL (14) who races shod this time. Very competitive in the amateur division, FLEUR D’ACADIE (7) has hind shoes off this time, and should improve on her recent 5th place to Florian Julien’s mare. Twice an amateur winner this year, GENTLE DREAM (12) is not always the most reliable of horses but, with application, can make his presence felt.

1. GOOD BYE ANGOT – 6th of 9 in a 2325m Toulouse Class F on 27 September. Front pads fitted but still has too much to do
2. GERBEN – Ran 3rd here under harness before finishing 8th of 11 in a 2725m Grenade Class F on Saturday. Takes first competitive steps under the saddle and should be able to hold her own
3. GOLDEN VIKING – 5th of 8 in a 2850m Hyeres harness Class D on 4 October. Sports pads this time but others still easier to back
4. GO FOR BELLAY – Ran 4th at Cabourg before coming 2nd of 6 in a 2675m Class E at Le Mont-Saint-Michel early last month. Starts in front and has another realistic chance of making the frame
5. NINEPOINTS LASSE – Never far from faulting but has taken superbly to his new vocation. Sanctioned in a 2150m Enghien harness Class D late last month but returns to the monté code with every chance of setting the record straight
6. FANDANGO GLYCINES – Sanctioned in a 3000m Borély Class D 12 days ago. Off the boil for some time and even sporting pads, has no possible chance
7. GLADYS TARTIFUME – 6th of 8, behind HERMES ANGEL (9), in a 2550m Beaumont Class D on 9 September. Cannot be considered a priority and makes her debut at the venue with moderate aspiration
8. IMAGINE D’ATOUT – Wonderfully consistent mare that was sent for a break after pulling off the hat trick, before imposing on first start back, clinching a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class D 3 weeks ago. Repeat possible
9. HERMES ANGEL – 3rd of 8 finishers in a 2550m Beaumont Class D early-September. Has references at the venue and, even starting with a 25m handicap, can still get in on the action
10. DIEGO DECOULGENS – Pleasantly-surprising 3rd of 5 finishers in a 3000m Borély Class D 12 days ago, but a repeat seems improbable
11. DIERLOV VOLO – 8th of 9 in a 2775m Craon Class D on 2 September. Is better than that though, has never disappointed here when barefoot, and should not disappoint
12. FARANDOLE DI PALBA – Sanctioned, when preparing for this, in a 2550m Beaumont Class A 10 days ago. Won 2 of last 3 monté starts and must be respected
Summary: Nicely in on the front line, NINEPOINTS LASSE (5) has not been beaten in the discipline when barefoot and, clearly in form, can make up for his recent harness sanction. Alexandre Abrivard will still be justifiably wary of second-line starter, IMAGINE D’ATOUT (8), who got straight back down to business on re-entry, and the better-positioned GO FOR BELLAY (4) who has turned a corner recently. HERMES ANGEL (9) boasts fine credentials in this branch of the business, placed on his only ridden start here, and will not be far off the mark.

1. LOCKWOOD EFJI – Last of 11, behind LEWIS D’EVRON (6), in a 2400m Beaumont Class C 10 days ago. Has merit but looks a race shy
2. L’AVENIR – Can trot but not the most reliable, latterly 7th of 11, behind LEWIS D’EVRON (6), in a 2400m Beaumont Class C 10 days ago, and can expect to generate little interest
3. LAZIZA DE LIGNY – Serious future prospect that was never at her ease behind the car, when sanctioned early in a 2400m Beaumont Class C 10 days ago. Faces better lot this time and can set record straight if she gets off on the right foot
4. LAZZARO DES NOES – Has hardly put a foot out of place since early-summer, most recently running 2nd to LUKE SKYWALKER (12) in a 2950m Toulouse Class B on 20 September, and will not be sent out at 29/1 this time
5. LIBERTINE ECAJEUL – Unremarkable 5th of 7, to LE MAGICIEN (11), in a 2950m Toulouse Class B on 27 September, and will struggle to make any impact
6. LEWIS D’EVRON – In the frame in both since the summer break, most recently 2nd of 11 in a 2400m Beaumont Class C 10 days ago. Has won at the venue but others still preferred
7. LOUP INDIEN – Sent for a break after winning 3 in a row. Impressive on comeback late last month when 4th of 7, to LE MAGICIEN (11), in a 2950m Toulouse Class B. Will have come on for the run and, better-placed this time, can exact revenge
8. LUCKY PIYA – Pleased at Auch before coming 3rd to LE MAGICIEN (11) in a 2950m Toulouse Class B late last month. Front pads back on but not an obvious choice this time
9. LINADA BELLA – Has not raced since opening her account in a 2325m Toulouse Class B last April, and will need the outing
10. LOVE ME TRUE – Failed to make it 4 on the trot when coming 2nd to LE MAGICIEN (11) in a 2950m Toulouse Class B on 27 September. Well-engaged here and, although unlikely to turn the tables, can still finish close
11. LE MAGICIEN – Pulled off 3-timer when winning a 2950m Toulouse Class B, with authority, on 27 September. Keeps on improving and is thoroughly capable of making it 4 in a row
12. LUKE SKYWALKER – Easy winner of a 2950m Toulouse Class B on 20 September. Won 4 of last 6, has placed over shorter here, and must be considered a serious contender
13. LE JIBAY – Has not been seen out since running 6th of 10 in a 2875m Enghien Class A late-July. Front pads fitted for comeback but is unlikely to shake things up
Summary: A 25m advantage can make all the difference to LOUP INDIEN (7) this time as he endeavours to return to winning ways after running 4th, on re-entry, to LE MAGICIEN (11) who secured himself the hat-trick that day. Winner at Grenade before confirming at Toulouse last month, LUKE SKYWALKER (12) will again have his chances, even from the 2nd tier. LAZIZA DE LIGNY (3) won 3 in a row before faulting last time out, but receives a Matthieu Abrivard drive for the occasion and is unlikely to disappoint.

1. ESPOIR FLYMP – Ran 4th at Borély before being sanctioned in a 3000m Class D at Salon-de-Provence earlier this month. Has solid clockwise references though and could well get a look-in
2. FAMEUX SAX – In the frame in 2 of last 3, latterly second of 12 in a 2300m Borély Class D on 26 September. Takes on some better horses this time, but can still make first 5
3. FERRERO DU LOISIR – Close 2nd of 8 in a 2450m Caen monté Class D 11 days ago. Leading driver at the helm this time and is well-placed to make a notable impact
4. ASTRONASCENTE ZAC – Made short work of a 2850m Vincennes Class D 3.5 weeks ago. Is unbeaten when barefoot and has every chance of keeping that status intact
5. FIGARO VICI – Sanctioned in 3 of last 4, latterly a 2700m Segré Class D on 6 October, and even with hind shoes off, is unlikely to garner much support
6. FALCON D’OURVILLE – 8th of 14 in a 2725m Lisieux claimer 10 days ago. Has been off the boil for some time and, even racing barefoot, can be ruled out
7. GRIGRI DU BONHEUR – Quality element making just 2nd start back, most recently last but one in a 3000m Salon-de-Provence Class D on 5 October. Barefoot for the occasion but still looks to have too much to do
8. FRIMEUR NARCY – 9th of 13 in a 2950m Toulouse Class D, in first start since the break, on 20 September. Thrives at Agen but, in this company, will need to pull out all the stops
9. INDY DE JYR – Returns to the harness code after running 5th of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D mid-September. Has had time to freshen up, and looks a player, but the draw will not help his cause
10. IDOLE OF LOVE – Sanctioned in a 2750m Angouleme Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Is clearly back at her best though and, with stride in check, can pleasantly surprise
11. FOX PAPA TANGO – Won at Enghien mid-August before finishing 11th of 13, behind FRIMEUR NARCY (8), in a 2950m Toulouse Class D on 20 September. Placed last time here, goes barefoot on this occasion, and should not be overlooked
12. DIABOLO – Has not been seen out since finishing 9th of 13 in a 2625m Villeneuve-sur-Lot Class D on 18 August. Shoes off but still no chance
13. HERMES SMART – Won at Vincennes before faulting in a 3000m Class D at Salon-de-Provence 2.5 weeks ago. Thrives with Matthieu Abrivard and, despite the draw, can still win this
14. INDUS VAL – Won at Vincennes early-September before coming 5th of 15 in a 2700m Class B at same venue 3.5 weeks ago. Not ideally-drawn but David Békaert drafted in for the occasion and can finish close
15. GAUDEPSOU – Returns to racing unshod-behind after finishing 6th of 16 in a 2450m Caen Class D 11 days ago. Handed a tough draw but looks to be on his way back and must be respected
16. FERIA DU METZ – Unraced since finishing 7th of 8 in a 2700m Grenade Gr.3 mid-August. Barefoot for re-entry but others still preferred
Summary: Reinvigorated over recent months, ASTRONASCENTE ZAC (4) recently dominated over 2850m at Vincennes and is ideally-positioned to repeat. Arguably a better horse, HERMES SMART (13) is forced to start on the 2nd line, but has solid Agen credentials and still looks dangerous. INDUS VAL (14) has simply thrived this year and will not be bothered by the change of direction. Back under harness after a productive run of form in the other code, FERRERO DU LOISIR (3) has been handed a decent spot behind the car and Benjamin Rochard is unlikely to let the opportunity pass him by.

1. KSAR BLUE BOCAIN – Imposed over course and distance before being sent for a break. Yet to convince this term, most recently sanctioned in a 2400m Beaumont Class D 10 days ago, and even though shod as he was when successful here, others still easier to back
2. KISS ME POLE – Unraced since finishing last of 9 in a 2550m Beaumont Class C last April. Hind shoes off for comeback, but has no realistic chance
3. KING DRY – Made up for his Beaumont blip when victorious in a 2950m Toulouse Class B on 27 September. On front line and will be expected to make a splash on Agen debut
4. KOUBA BLUE – 3rd of 9, to KING DRY (3), in a 2950m Toulouse Class B late last month. Shoes back on but is better here when shod and is not to be discounted
5. KHALIFE DELALANDE – Back under harness after being sanctioned in a 2175m Vincennes monté Class C 2 weeks ago. Is proven here but has too much to find
6. KOLBE DESBOIS – Returned to competition late last month, finishing last of 9 to KING DRY (3) in a 2950m Toulouse Class B. Shoes on again and can be passed over
7. KAPTAIN DU LIAMONE – 7th of 13, to KARAKA WOOD (9), in a 2800m Chartres Class B last week. Is barefoot this time, with Alexandre Abrivard reining, and can play an active role
8. KOTKIE – Justifiably well-regarded filly that came a flying 5th of 14 in a 2800m Class B at Le Croisé-Laroche on 2 September. Gets on well with her driver and will have a claims on the win
9. KARAKA WOOD – Returned to winning ways in a 2800m Chartres Class B last week. Is new to the venue, starts on 2nd row, but has fine clockwise credentials and will be no pushover
10. KOOL DES CHAMPS – Returns to racing right-handed after finishing 6th of 11 in a 2825m Parilly Class B a fortnight ago, and can get in on the action if he a) reproduces latest Toulouse performance and b) somehow negates the handicap
11. KARLITO – Gr-1-placed colt that was not the luckiest when 7th of 12 finishers in a 2850m Vincennes Gr.1 mid-September. Forced to break from 3rd row but has the class to win this
Summary: KARLITO (11) put on a good show to finish 4th in the Critérium des 4 Ans and, even penalised 50m here, he has just hind pads fitted this time but nonetheless has the wherewithal to defy the handicap and impose. That being said, KOTKIE (8) is 25m better off, reverts to her latest Vincennes configuration, and will be no easy touch. KING DRY (3) has won 2 of his last 3 and looks competitive once more. KARAKA WOOD (9) opened her autumn account just last week and a similar performance would see her go close again.

1. HOOKER BERRY – Has started to come good again, most recently 3rd of 13 in a 2100m Vincennes Gr.1 on 11 September, and despite a poor draw, can nevertheless play a leading role
2. ETONNANT – Unraced since finishing 12th of 16 in Gr.2 Prix Bourbonnais last December. Is one of the toughest nuts here, has won at the venue [2017], and can make first 5
3. HANNA DES MOLLES – Back under harness after running 2nd of 9 to FULTON (8) in a 2175m Vincennes monté Gr.2 early last month. Is plainly on a good streak and can play a small role if form transitions
4. ELVIS DU VALLON – Finished a well-beaten last of 13, behind HOOKER BERRY (1), in a 2100m Vincennes Gr.1 on 11 September. Unlikely to cause an upset but can still get a look-in
5. JUST A GIGOLO – Finished good 8th of 12 in a 2875m Meslay Gr.3 earlier this month, despite faulting, and can win this if Benjamin Rochard keeps him trotting and away from trouble
6. JUST LOVE YOU – Struggled for much of the year until coming third of 15 in 3000m Vincennes Gr.1 mid-September and, in similar shape, can wrap this up
7. EMERAUDE DE BAIS – Quality mare that should not be hastily-judged for coming 11th of 13 behind HOOKER BERRY (1) in a 2100m Vincennes Gr.1 on 11 October. Has excellent speed, goes over any trip, and will be no soft touch
8. FULTON – Races shod after winning a 2850m Vincennes monté Gr.3 a month ago. Has other priorities and can be passed over
9. FAKIR DE MAHEY – 11th of 15 in a 3500m Craon Class B a month ago. Sports just pads this time and appears to be facing a stiff test
10. FINE PERLE OF LOVE – Last of 11 in a 2625m Alencon amateurs Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Goes barefoot this time but has no realistic chance
11. JOYNER SPORT – Flattering last of 5 in a 2700m Vincennes monté Gr.2 on 11 September. Barefoot this time but still hard to make a case
Summary: Winner of the Critérium de Vitesse de Basse Normandie at Argentan during the summer, JUST A GIGOLO (5) may not have been as sharp since but he goes barefoot this time and is ideally-positioned to bag another black-type win. Benjamin Rochard will still want to be wary of HOOKER BERRY (1) who showed in the Gr.1 UET Elite Circuit Finale recently that he is very much in attendance these days, and a reconfigured JUST LOVE YOU (6) who finished a surprising, but eye-catching, 3rd in the Gr.1 Critérium des 5 Ans mid-September. Occasionally unfocused but otherwise a tough veteran mare, EMERAUDE DE BAIS (7) should find these conditions more to her liking.

1. JASMIN D’AVENIR – 8th of 10, behind JAVANAISE DE FARS (9), in a 2400m Beaumont Class E early-September. Just front pads fitted this time and not an obvious choice
2. JALISCO DE NEUVY – Produced a pair of good runs before finishing 7th of 10 finishers in a 2850m Parilly Class C a fortnight ago. Is better than that though and his trainer will be justifiably out for redemption
3. JAKADI DE VAUVILLE – Made up for Fleurance performance when 4th of 9 finishers in a 2950m Toulouse Class C on 20 September. Handed a front-row draw, likes Agen, but not a contender this time
4. JUSTIN DES MARAIS – Sanctioned in a 2850m Laval Class D earlier this month. Is never easy to gauge but has ample ability, and should not be overlooked
5. JOSS AIMEF – 6th of 10 when being prepared for this in a 2750m Angouleme Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Knows these conditions and, from 5-spot, can play a leading role
6. JOKER DU MATCH – Sanctioned in a 2875m Enghien Class D conditioner on 7 October. Is a right-handed trotter to his core and has the ideal draw from which to launch his assault. Claim
7. JIPCHO SKILL – Pleasant 4th of 11, a place behind JIPCHO SKILL (7), in a 2550m Beaumont monté Class F 10 days ago, but a repeat looks decidedly unlikely
8. JALACTIC – 5th of 15 in a 2750m Cabourg Class E on 3 October. Bruno Marie would have preferred a better draw but his charge has been hard to knock for some time and looks a serious proposition
9. JAVANAISE DE FARS – In the frame in 2 before finishing 7th of 13 in a 2950m Toulouse Class C on 27 September. Handed a tough draw and, barefoot or not, is simply not up to the task
10. JABADAO – Won a minor claimer before coming 5th of 11, a place behind JIPCHO SKILL (7), in a 2550m Beaumont monté Class F 10 days ago. Barefoot this time but still has no possible chance
11. JEEN LOVER – Failed to extend his positive streak when sanctioned in Toulouse race of reference, and the draw only compounds matters
12. JOYEUSE DE LAVANCE – 2nd of 9 finishers in a 2950m Toulouse Class C on 20 September. On back line but the choice of driver will only boost her chances
13. JOGGER KILY – Sanctioned early in a 2550m Beaumont monté Class F 10 days ago. Has otherwise been in fine shape and, even with Franck Nivard in the bike, still looks no more than a minor place prospect
14. JULIAN DARK – Out of the picture in all 3 since returning to competition, most recently sanctioned in a 2950m Toulouse Class C on 27 September, and others easier to trust
15. JEU INTERDIT – Took his win-rate to 50% when successful in a 2700m Grenade-sur-Garonne Class B mid-August. Has not been seen since but is shod for competition, and will not be far off the mark if his driver successfully navigates the start
16. JOUVENCE D’AVRIL – Reassured at Beaumont-de-Lomagne before losing her action in a 2500m Reims Class E mid-September. Is not devoid of ability, but the draw will do her no favours
Summary: Like a horse reborn this year, JOKER DU MATCH (6) makes his Agen debut after prepping in Paris and will take all the beating if he takes to Agen conditions. Starting wide on his outside, JALACTIC (8) enjoys a very good entry and Matthias Legros will be eager to capitalise. Runner-up in her last 3 starts, JOYEUSE DE LAVANCE (12) is confirmed here, has been entrusted to Matthieu Abrivard, and will be competitive for a first-3 place. A winner here earlier in the year, JOSS AIMEF (5) should be fit by now, races unshod-behind, and Eric Audebert could not have asked for a better draw.
